Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance hot dipping productivity and reduce the cost by regulating the height of a bath surface partially raised by ultrasonic vibration corresponding to the laterally curved side of a strip steel sheet proceeding on the bath surface to carry out continuous uniform hot dipping on one side of the sheet in the lateral direction. CONSTITUTION:Strip steel sheet 1 is continuously carried into plating equipment 3 in which molten metal bath 4 is filled and ultrasonic vibration tips 5 and vibrator 7 are arranged under the bath surface. Out of six tips 5a-5f arranged perpendicular to the proceeding direction of sheet 1, tips 5a, 5f at both the ends are exposed to the bath surface, tips 5b, 5e are set just under the bath surface, and tips 5c, 5d are dipped in the bath, forming a concave shape. By applying ultrasonic vibration, parts of the bath surface corresponding to tips 5a, 5f are most highly raised, and parts corresponding to tips 5c, 5d are slightly raised to concavely raise the bath surface, whereby one side of sheet 1 concavely curved can be plated uniformly.
