Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject method comprising the steps of causing a molten metal to flow toward a tip by a movable magnetic field generator, and supplying smoothly the molten metal to the upper part of the tip, thereby to carry out uniform molten metal plating at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 1 is continuously fed from a snout portion 2 to an one side plating device 3. A molten metal bath 4 is provided at the lower part of the plating device 3, and a supersonic wave vibrating tip 5 dipped in the lower part of the bath surface is arranged to raise the bath surface upward. The strip 1 changes its course to the horizontal direction by a guide roll 8 provided slightly upward from the raised bath surface, and the lower surface of the strip is in contact with the guide roll 8 provided at the slight upper part from the raised bath surface and plated with the molten metal. The movable magnetic field generator 12 is provided at the outer side of the bottom part of a metal bath tank 13 and further at the left hand of the tip 5 to generate a magnetic field moving from he left hand to the right hand. The molten metal flows as indicated by arrow from the left hand toward the tip by the magnetic field thus generated, and is supplied to the tip.
