Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform a good quality one-side plating of steel belt by contacting the lower side of steel belt to be plated in a vertically specific range on the surface of molten plating metal risen by a ultrasonic wave vibration. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave chip is put in the molten platig metal 4, e.g., zinc, etc., to rise up the zinc bath 4 by generating an ultrasonic wave vibration, and then the lower side of the steel belt 1 coming out of the snout 2 is brought into contact with the risen surface of the zinc bath 4 for galvanization. The surface of the zinc bath, in case where utlrasonic vibration is not used, is controlled in the range from 6 mm upward of the tip of the ultrasonic tip 5 to 4 mm downward of the tip, and also the position of the steel belt 1, when it is plated by rising the surface of bath by ultrasonic vibration, is set in the range whose upper limit is the position where the risen surface of zinc bath fails to come into contact with the lower side of steel belt and whose lower limit is the position where the risen surface of zinc bath starts to go on the upper side of steel belt. In this case, the upper limit is 4 mm and the lower limit is 6 mm in case where the flow rate of gas blasted from the side nozzle 10 is 15 m/sec and 4 mm in case where the flow rate of gas is 0.
