Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent turning round of molten plating metal and enable one-side plating to be surely accomplished at a high speed by letting the opposite side contact the plating bath surface while blowing gas to one side of the object to be plated of falt plate form being continuously conveyed. CONSTITUTION:A steel plate 1 or the like whose surfaces have undergone reduction treatment is conveyed into a plating apparatus 3 mainly composed of zinc. An ultrasonic chip 5 is dipped near the bath surface and applies ultrasonic vibrations to the bath thereby causing the bath surface to locally build up. Gas blown from gas blow nozzles 10 is directed to the diagonally downward direction at both end parts of the steel plate 1 and the gas blown is flowed to the direction from the steel plate 1 end to the direction parting from the steel plate 1. The molten plating metal trying to go round to the top surface is pushed back by this gas flow, whereby its deposition on the non-plating surface is prevented. Preferable gas pressure is about 20 m/sec. in velocity of flow and the distance from the bath surface to the plating surface is made about 5.4mm.
