Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out both side plating and single side plating on demand, by installing a freely inclinable tank for holding an electromagnetic pump therein, the tank which is provided with a trough for forming a rising flow of molten metal by means of the electromagnetic pump, in a tank for the plating molten metal, and by changing the path of the steel sheet to be plated. CONSTITUTION:In a tank 3 contg. plating molten metal 7 such as Zn is installed a tank 6 provided with a trough, which is made of non-magnetic material and is used for spraying the molten metal by means of an electromagnetic pump 5, in such a manner that the tank 6 can be inclined with a point 6' as a supporting point. A hood 10 is set above the molten metal bath 7 so as to keep the inside atmosphere reducing. Previously heated steel sheet 8 is bent and run by deflector rolls 14, 15, 19, brought into contact with plating molten metal 9 sprayed through the trough 4 by means of the electromagnetic pump 8 at the under side thereof, and is plated at the under side alone. To plate on both sides of the steel sheet, the electromagnetic pump tank 6 is inclined, the spraying of the plating molten metal bath 7 is stopped, and the steel sheet is run through the bath 7 by means of a deflector roll 18.
