Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an alloying furnace by which insufficient alloying is reduced while saving energy in alloying of a one-side zinc plated steel strip by arranging more radiant tubes at the iron side having higher heat absorption rate. CONSTITUTION:In the alloying furnace, less radiant tubes 5' are arranged at the zinc plated side of one-side zinc plated steel strip 2 than radiant tubes 5'' at the iron side. Thus, most of the total heat to be supplied for alloying is supplied from the iron side to relatively reduce the quantity of heat supplied to the zinc side. Accordingly, even if uneven alloying occurs once, the tendency is not promoted and a uniform superior alloy surface is obtd.
