Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce oxidation and wear under a high temperature by plating the metal surface with Co or Cr and then diffusing Al.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of heat resisting steel, pure steel etc. is plated with Co or Cr and then Al is diffused to form an alloy layer of Co-Al or Cr-Al. Plating of Co or Cr is made by electroplating, vacuum evaporation, metal spraying etc. and diffusion of Al is made by calorizing, vacuum evaporation and melt spraying.
