Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to form a strong coating of precious metal by using as a coating material a special alloy, which is free from any deterioration of corrosion resistance even after heat treatment, so as to accomplish the surface treatment such that any resist may not be left only in a clearance.
CONSTITUTION: In order to prevent corrosion resistance from being deteriorated even after the heat treatment for diffusion of precious metal, such an alloy is used as a coating material as contains less than 0.03% of carbon, 9 to 18% of Cr, less than 4% of Ag, and the remainder of Ni. The band produced as a whole is impregnated and coated with a photoresist liquid. After that, only the necessary portion is exposed and etched. After that, that portion is preparatorily plated with a necessary substance and then plates with precious metal by a wet process. In the case of the plating of the precious metal, after the resist coating, the band is exposed at a selected special angle and etched. Then, there is no resist left in a clearance only. After the precious metal plating process, the whole resist is peeled, and the diffusing treatment of a surface layer is accomplished at 200 to 900°C. Thus, it is possible to strongly coat the precious metal.
