Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide superior corrosion resistance to a steel plate plated with a Cu alloy contg. Ni in a prescribed thickness by heat treating the steel plate at a temp. below the m.p. of Ni so as to mutually diffuse Fe and the alloy while preventing the diffusion of Fe in the surface layer part.
CONSTITUTION: An ordinary or stainless steel plate is plated with a Cu-Ni alloy contg. ≥50% Cu in 1W10μm thickness, and this plated steel plate is heat treated at a temp. below the m.p. of Ni under the condition which prevents the diffusion of Fe up to the surface layer. The resulting plated layer of the steel plate is formed with an Fe-Cu-Ni alloy rich in Fe at the base metal side and contg. no Fe at the surface layer part.
