Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide superior corrosion resistance to a steel plate plated with Ni and Cu layers each having a prescribed thickness by heat treating the steel plate at a temp. below the m.p. of Ni so as to diffuse Fe, Ni and Cu mutually and Ni to the surface of the Cu layer.
CONSTITUTION: An ordinary or stainless steel plate is plated with Ni in 0.1W 5μm thickness and Cu in 0.5W20μm thickness in order. This double-plated steel plate is heat treated at a temp. below the m.p. of Ni. The resulting plated layer of the steel plate is formed with an Fe-Ni-Cu alloy rich in Fe at the metal side and having Cu, Ni and Fe contents which are made higher, lower and zero toward the surface, respectively.
