Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide superior corrosion resistance to a steel plate plated with Ni-Cu alloy and Cu layers each having a prescribed thickness by heat treating the steel plate at a temp. below the m.p. of Ni so as to mutually diffuse Fe, Ni and Cu while preventing the diffusion of Ni and Fe up to the surface layer part of the coated layers.
CONSTITUTION: An ordinary or stainless steel plate is plated with an Ni-Cu alloy in 1W10μm thickness and Cu in 1W10μm thickness in order. This double- plated steel plate is heat treated at a temp. below the m.p. of Ni under the condition which prevents the diffusion of Ni and Fe up to Cu of the surface layer part. The resulting plated layer of the steel plate is formed with an Fe- Ni-Cu alloy rich in Fe at the base metal side and contg. no Fe and only Cu at the surface layer part.
