Abstract

PURPOSE:To make easier the exchange of plating metal and also the adjustment of plating condition by supplying molten metal to coating roll groups outside of the coating roll group system. CONSTITUTION:The deflector roll 4 and the back-up roll 6 in the plating chamber are positioned adjustably on either side in such a way that the length of arc in contact with the coating roll 5 of the steel strip can be adjusted. Molten metal is pumped 8 up from the storage tank 7 and then flows into the contact between the coating roll 5 and the interrupting roll 14 through the flow rate adjustor 10, the charging hole 12, and the flow-adjusting plate 13. The molten metal film is formed on the coating roll 5 by the rotation of both the rolls 5 and 14 and the steel strip 1 is plated. The method enables the one side and both sides of steel strip to be plated more readily and also the exchange of plating metal and the plating of both side 5 with different metals to be performed more easily.
