Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit coating of the entire paint uniformly in a large amt. with beautiful finishes by flowing the paint continuously down onto the surface of a receiving roll in a laminar flow state of constant thickness in an axial direction and reverse coating the same on the surface of a base plate with a painting roll.
CONSTITUTION: The paint scooped up from a tank 7 with a pump 8 is supplied into a chamber 9, and is flowed down along a flange 10 so that it is transferred uniformly onto the surface of a receiving roll 11 under revolution. Thence, the paint B on the roll 11 is transferred onto a painting roll 12 of a smooth surface which revolves reverse with respect to the roll 11, whereby it is painted reverse onto the surface of a moving base plate A. In this case, the downflow rate of the paint B from the chamber 9 is detected with a sensor 17, and in accordance with the signal thereof, the discharging rate of the pump 8 is automatically controlled by using an automatic arithmetic device 18. The film thickness on the substrate A in measured with a sensor 16, and from the value thereof, roll gap is automatically controlled with an automatic roll pressing device 19 by using the device 8. The stable painting is made possible by using two kinds of these controls.
