PURPOSE:To carry out the title hot dipping at a high speed by moving a steel sheet while in contact with the surface of a metal bath partially raised with an ultrasonic vibration tip dipped in the vicinity of the surface and applying magnetic attraction from the upper part of the sheet to prevent vibration of the sheet in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:Strip steel sheet 1 is continuously fed into one-side hot dipping unit 3 filled with a reducing atmosphere from snout 2. The surface of metal bath 4 is partially raised with ultrasonic vibration tip 5 dipped in the bath. Sheet 1 is moved in close vicinity to the surface with guide rolls 8, 9. It contacts to the raised part to carry out hot dipping and leaves unit 3 through guide roll 10. It is then fed to a looper for after-treatment with roll 11. Vibration of sheet 1 in the vertical direction is prevented with the force of electromagnet 12 provided at the upper part of sheet 1 for attracting sheet 1 upward and tension applied between rolls 8, 9 in the proceeding direcion.
