Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a one-side hot dipped steel having a uniform amount of metal stuck by protruding part of a molten metal bath for hot dipping from the surface with an electromagnetic pump at a specified low value or less of frequency and sticking the part to the under side of a passing steel strip. CONSTITUTION:Part of molten metal 2 such as molten Zn for hot dipping kept in a nonoxidizing atmosphere is moved upward from the bath surface with metal circulating spout 6 at <=20Hz frequency from electromagnetic pump 5. Moving metal 2 is brought into contact with the under side of steel strip 9 guided with deflector rolls 7, 8 to manufacture a one-side hot dipped steel sheet. At this time, the frequency of pump 5 applying thrust to metal 2 is adjusted to a range where spout 6 is prevented from being heated and the protruded flow of metal 2 is uniformly fed and stuck to the under side of strip 9 running over the metal bath at 10-100mm. height. The frequency of pump 5 is preferably 1-10, especially preferably 1-5Hz.
