- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 絶縁材としての重合体フォーム材料の使用において、 A)少なくとも0.01m2/ccのフォーム容積当たりの比表面積、 B)0.05g/cc未満の乾燥密度、及び C)−20℃と90℃との間のガラス転移温度(Tg) を有することを特徴とする重合体フォーム材料の使用。 2. 絶縁材としての重合体フォーム材料の使用において、重合体フォーム材 料は、 A)少なくとも0.01m2/ccのフォーム容積当たりの比表面積、 B)0.05g/cc未満の乾燥密度、及び C)−20℃と90℃との間のガラス転移温度(Tg) を有し、 該重合体フォーム材料は下記工程を含む方法により製造され、該工程は、 (A)30℃以上の温度及び低い剪断混合下で油中水滴型エマルジョンを生成 する工程であって、該エマルジョンは、 (1)油相であって、該油相は、 (a)80重量%〜98重量%の、−20℃〜90℃のTg値を有する共 重合体を生成することができるモノマー成分であって、該モノマー成分は、 (i)10重量%〜70重量%の、35℃以下のTgを有する単独 重合体を生成することができる実質的に水不溶性の単官能性モノマー、 (ii)10重量%〜70重量%の、スチレンによって与えられる ものとほぼ同等の靭性を与えることができる実質的に水不溶性の単官能性コモノ マー、 (iii)2%〜50%の、ジビニルベンゼン及びその類似物から なる群から選択された第一の実質的に水不溶性の多官能性架橋剤、及び (iv)0%〜15%の、ジオールジアクリレート及びその類似物 からなる群から選択された第二の実質的に水不溶性多官能性架橋剤を含み、 及び、 (b)2重量%〜20重量%の、油相に可溶性で、安定な油中水滴型エマ ルジョンを生成するために適している乳化剤成分、 を含み、 (2)0.1重量%〜20重量%の水溶性電解質を含む水相、及び (3)12:1〜250:1の範囲内の水相対油相の容積対重量の比、 を含み、 (B)油中水滴型エマルジョンの油相中のモノマー成分を重合して重合体フォ ーム材料を製造する工程、 を含むことを特徴とする重合体フォーム材料の使用。 3. 重合体フォーム材料が、0℃〜50℃のガラス転移温度(Tg)を有す る請求項1に記載の使用。 4. 重合体フォーム材料が、100μm未満の数平均気泡サイズを有する請 求項1項記載の使用。 5. 重合体フォーム材料が、10μm〜50μm、好ましくは15μm〜3 5μmの数平均気泡サイズを有する請求項4に記載の使用。 6. 重合体フォーム材料が、10℃〜40℃のガラス転移温度を有する請求 項5に記載の使用。 7. 絶縁材としての疎水性重合体フォーム材料の使用において、該重合体フ ォーム材料は、 (A)少なくとも0.025m2/ccのフォーム容積当たりの比表面積、 (B)0.08g/ccから0.004g/ccまでの乾燥密度、 (C)0℃と50℃との間のガラス転移温度(Tg)、及び (D)10μmから50μmまでの数平均気泡サイズ、 を有することを特徴とする疎水性重合体フォーム材料の使用。 8. 工程(A)で使用される該モノマー成分が、10%から70%までの単 官能性コモノマー(ii)、好ましくは20%から50%までの単官能性コモノ マー(ii)を含む請求項2に記載の使用。 9. 工程(A)で使用される該モノマー成分が、20%から50%までの単 官能性モノマー(i)を含む請求項8に記載の使用。 10. 工程(A)で使用される該モノマー成分が、10%から30%までの 架橋剤(iii)を含む請求項9に記載の使用。 11. 該モノマー成分の単官能性モノマー(i)がアクリル酸−2−エチル ヘキシル、アクリル酸イソデシル、アクリル酸ラウリル、及びメタクリル酸ラウ リルからなる群から選択され、該モノマー成分の単官能性コモノマー(ii)が スチレン、エチルスチレン、及びp−n−オクチルスチレンからなる群から選択 され、かつ該モノマー成分の架橋剤(iii)がジビニルベンゼン、トリビニル ベンゼン、ジビニルトルエン、及びジビニルキシレンからなる群から選択される 請求項2に記載の使用。 12. 水相対油相の容積対重量の比が、25:1〜250:1の範囲内にあ る請求項2に記載の使用。
