DICHAS ESPUMAS POLIMERICAS SE PREPARAN MEDIANTE POLIMERIZACION DE DETERMINADAS EMULSIONES DE AGUA EN ACEITE, CON UNA RELACION RELATIVAMENTE ELEVADA DE LA FASE ACUOSA A LA FASE OLEOSA, CONOCIDAS NORMALMENTE EN EL ESTADO DE LA TECNICA COMO "HIPES". LOS MATERIALES DE ESPUMA POLIMERICOS DERIVADOS DE "HIPES" UTILIZADOS EN LA PRESENTE INVENCION COMPRENDEN UNA ESTRUCTURA DE ESPUMA POLIMERICA FLEXIBLE O SEMIFLEXIBLE, GENERALMENTE HIDROFOBA O NO IONICA RIGIDA, CON CELULAS ABIERTAS INTERCONECTADAS.
