Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. シラン架橋剤でグラフト化した硬化性の実質的に線状であるエチレンポ リマーであって、このシランでグラフト化する前のポリマーが、 (i)メルトフロー比I10/I2が≧5.63であり、 (ii)方程式:Mw/Mn≦(I10/I2)−4.63で定義される分子量分布 Mw/Mnを有し、 (iii)約0.850から0.91g/cm3の範囲の密度を有し、かつ (iv)表面メルトフラクチャーが起こり始める時の臨界せん断速度が、ほぼ同 じI2とMw/Mnを有する線状オレフィンポリマーの表面メルトフラクチャーが 起こり始める時の臨界せん断速度より、少なくとも50%大きい、 として特徴づけられるグラフト化ポリマー。 2. 該シラン架橋剤がエチレン系不飽和ヒドロカルビル基と加水分解性基を 有する不飽和シランである請求の範囲第1項のグラフト化ポリマー。 3. 該シラン架橋剤がエチレンポリマー100部当たり0.5から5部の範 囲の量で存在している請求の範囲第1または2項のグラフト化ポリマー。 4. 該エチレンポリマーがエチレンと炭素原子数が3から20である少なく とも1種のα−オレフィンとのコポリマーである請求の範囲第1−3項いずれか のグラフト化ポリマー。 5. 少なくとも部分的に硬化させた後の請求の範囲第1−4項いずれかのグ ラフト化ポリマー。 6. 充填材と組み合わせた請求の範囲第1−5項いずれかのグラフト化ポリ マー。 7. シラン架橋剤でグラフト化した硬化性の実質的に線状であるエチレンポ リマーを製造する方法であって、該エチレンポリマーが、 (i)メルトフロー比I10/I2が≧5.63であり、 (ii)方程式:Mw/Mn≦(I10/I2)−4.63で定義される分子量分布 Mw/Mnを有し、 (iii)約0.850から0.91g/cm3の範囲の密度を有し、 かつ (iv)表面メルトフラクチャーが起こり始める時の臨界せん断速度が、ほぼ同 じI2とMw/Mnを有する線状オレフィンポリマーの表面メルトフラクチャーが 起こり始める時の臨界せん断速度より、少なくとも50%大きい、 として特徴づけられ、そしてこの方法が、 A. 該ポリマーの溶融物を調製し、 B. (A)の溶融物に周囲温度でシラン架橋剤を約0.5から約5phrの範 囲の量で混合し、そして C. 該シラン架橋剤の少なくとも約50重量パーセントが該ポリマーにグラフ ト化するように(B)の溶融物にイオン化放射線を受けさせるか或は(B)の溶 融物にフリーラジカル開始剤を接触させる、 段階を含む方法。 8. (C)の溶融物に架橋触媒を0.015から0.035phrの範囲の 量で混合するさらなる段階(D)を含む請求の範囲第7項の方法。 9. E.(D)の溶融物をケーブル上に押出し加工し、そして任意に F.このケーブル上に押出し加工した溶融物を硬化させる、さらなる段 階を含む請求の範囲第8項の方法。 10. (A)の溶融物に該シラン架橋剤を添加するに先立って充填材を該ポ リマーの重量を基準にして20から80重量パーセントの範囲の量で混合するさ らなる段階を含む請求の範囲7、8または9の方法。 11. 請求の範囲9または10の方法を用いた作られたケーブル。 12. E.(D)の溶融物をウェザーストリップに成形する、 さらなる段階を含む請求の範囲第8項の方法。 13. 請求の範囲第12項のウェザーストリップ。 14. E.(D)の溶融物を繊維に押出し加工する、 さらなる段階を含む請求の範囲第8項の方法。 15. 請求の範囲第14項の繊維。
