Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.ゼラチノ−ビヒクルおよびハロゲン化銀粒子を含有する感輻射線乳剤を準 備し、次いで ヨウ化物イオンを前記粒子中に導入することからなるハロゲン化物転化方法で あって、 準備する前記感輻射線乳剤が、(a)銀に基づいて、少くとも90モル%の臭化 物および10モル%までのヨウ化物からなり、そして(b)(i)線状エッジにより接 合されるコーナーを形成し、そして(ii)総粒子投影面積の少くとも70%を占め る{111}主面を有する平板状粒子を含み、 準備する前記乳剤のpBrを3.5未満に保持し、 前記ゼラチノ−ビヒクルとの二次反応速度定数が10-3/モル秒未満であるヨウ 化物イオン源を、前記乳剤中に導入し、次いで前記ゼラチノ−ビヒクルと反応さ せてヨウ化物イオンを放出させ、そして 前記の放出ヨウ化物イオンが選択的にハロゲン化物イオンと置き換って、平板 状粒子のコーナー領域に限定されたディスロケーションを形成し、各コーナー領 域と平板状粒子の残部(前記コーナー領域は前記平板状粒子の一部を形成する) 間の境界は、平板状粒子の{111}主面の中心からコーナー領域内の平板状粒子 コーナーへ延びる軸と、コーナーから軸長の10%離れた位置で垂直に交わる平面 により定められている、 ことを特徴とするハロゲン化物転化方法。 2.前記乳剤のpBrを3.0未満に保持することをさらに特徴とする請求項1記載 のハロゲン化物転化方法。 3.前記のハロゲン化物転化のために準備する乳剤の平板状粒子が、総銀に基 づいて5モル%までのヨウ化物を含有することをさら に特徴とする請求項1または2記載のハロゲン化物転化方法。 4.前記のハロゲン化物転化のために準備する乳剤の平板状粒子が、総粒子投 影面積の少くとも90%を占めることをさらに特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか 1項記載のハロゲン化物転化方法。 5.前記のヨウ化物イオン源が、式: R−I (前記式中、Rはヨウ化物結合に炭素を与える有機部分である) を満足する化合物であることをさらに特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項記 載のハロゲン化物転化方法。 6.前記有機部分が10個までの炭素原子を含有し、そして少くとも1個の極性 置換基を含むことをさらに特徴とする請求項5記載のハロゲン化物転化方法。 7.ゼラチノ−ビヒクルおよびハロゲン化銀粒子を含有する感輻射線乳剤であ って、 前記粒子が、総粒子投影面積の少くとも70%を占める平板状粒子を含み、 総銀に基づいて、少くとも90モル%の臭化物および12モル%までのヨウ化物か らなり、 線状エッジにより接合されるコーナーを形成する{111}主面を有し、そして コーナー領域に限定されたハロゲン化物転化ディスロケーションを含有し、各 コーナー領域と平板状粒子(前記コーナー領域は前記平板状粒子の一部を形成す る)間の境界は、平板状粒子の{111}主面の中心からコーナー領域内の平板状 粒子コーナーへ延びる軸と、コーナーから軸長の10%離れた位置で垂直に交わる 平面により定められていることを特徴とする感輻射線乳剤。 8.前記平板状粒子が、総粒子投影面積の少くとも90%を占める ことをさらに特徴とする請求項7記載の感輻射線乳剤。 9.前記平板状粒子が、総銀に基づいて、5モル%までのヨウ化物を含有する ことをさらに特徴とする請求項7または8記載の感輻射線乳剤。 10.前記ハロゲン化銀粒子が30%未満の変動係数を示すことをさらに特徴とす る請求項7〜9のいずれか1項記載の感輻射線乳剤。
