- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.金属物品を焼き入れする方法であって、 (a)溶解したガスを含む冷却液の溜りを準備し、 (b)前記金属の焼き入れのために前記溜りの中に金属物品を浸漬する、 ことを含む焼き入れ方法。 2. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、ガスを前記冷却液中に噴射すること でガスが前記液体内に溶解されている焼き入れ方法。 3. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、段階(a)が大気圧および大気温度 に開放されている冷却液の溜りを形成することを含む焼き入れ方法。 4. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記ガスが窒素、二酸化炭素および その組み合わせからなる群から選択される焼き入れ方法。 5. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記ガスが二酸化炭素である焼き入 れ方法。 6. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記冷却液が水である焼き入れ方法 。 7. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記物品がアルミニウム、マグネシ ウム、銅、鉄、亜鉛、ニッケル、コバルト、チタン、およびそれらの合金からな る群から選択された金属で形成された焼き入れ方法。 8. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記冷却液に溶解された前記ガスの レベルを冷却液1リットル(ガロン)当たり0.007〜1.5リットル(0. 001〜0.2標準立方フィート(SCF))の範囲内に維持することをさらに 含む焼き入れ方法。 9. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記冷却液の一部を循環させてガス を前記冷却液に溶解させ、前記冷却液の溶解ガス量を冷却液1リットル(ガロン )当たり0.007〜1.5リットル(0.001〜0.2標準立方フィート( SCF))の範囲内に維持することをさらに含む焼き入れ方法。 10. 請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記溜りの前記冷却液が第1の温度 を有し、追加の冷却液を前記溜りに追加し、前記追加の冷却液が前記第1の温度 よりも低い第2の温度を有することをさらに含む焼き入れ方法。 11.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記冷却液の一部を混合室に通して循 還させ、前記循還される冷却液の部分に空気を噴射して前記溶解されているガス の少なくとも一部を前記循環部分から除去することをさらに含む焼き入れ方法。 12.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、前記冷却液の一部を混合室に通して循 還させ、前記循還される冷却液の部分に空気を噴射して前記溶解されているガス の少なくとも一部を前記循環される冷却液部分から除去し、その後前記冷却液の 前記循環部分を前記溜りへ導くことをさらに含む焼き入れ方法。 13.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、 (a)前記冷却液に溶解された前記ガスの量を監視し、 (b)前記監視に応じて該冷却液に追加のガスを溶解させる、 ことをさらに含む焼き入れ方法。 14.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、段階(b)の前に前記金属物品が約4 27°C(800°F)〜約593°C(1100°F)の温度を有する焼き入 れ方法。 15.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、段階(b)の前に前記金属物品が溶体 化熱処理される焼き入れ方法。 16.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、段階(b)の前に前記金属物品が熱間 加工される焼き入れ方法。 17.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、段階(b)の前に前記金属物品が押出 加工される焼き入れ方法。 18.請求項1の焼き入れ方法であって、段階(b)の前に前記金属物品が鍛造 される焼き入れ方法。
