(57)【要約】 【目的】 合成樹脂管を接続する際に、管の長さが不足
する場合でも融着接合が行なえる電気融着用長さ調整継
手を提供する。 【構成】 合成樹脂製継手本体1の一端に受口11を設
けると共に該受口11の内周面に電熱線2を埋設し、他
端に前記受口11の内径とほぼ等しい外径を有する差口
12を設ける。 【効果】 合成樹脂管の長さが不足する場合でも、融着
接合が行える。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、合成樹脂管同志を接続
する際に、管の長さを調整して融着接合が行なえる電気
融着用長さ調整継手に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術とその課題】従来から合成樹脂製のガス管
や給水・給湯管の接続には、継手本体の両端受口に電熱
線を埋設した電気融着継手が用いられている。そして、
この電気融着継手による合成樹脂管の接続の場合は、継
手の両端受口にそれぞれの合成樹脂管の端部を嵌挿して
から電熱線に通電し、発熱した電熱線で接合面の樹脂を
溶融させて接合していた。
【0003】ところで、現場で配管施工を行なう場合、
合成樹脂管を必要とする長さに切断してから融着接合を
行なうとき、合成樹脂管の長さが不足しているため接続
が行なえないことがしばしば発生する。この場合、合成
樹脂管をもう一度必要長さに切断してから融着接合を行
なっていたが、先に切断した合成樹脂管が無駄になると
いう問題があった。
【0004】本発明はかかる課題を解決したものであっ
て、切断した合成樹脂管が必要長さよりも短い場合で
も、管の長さを調整して融着接合が行なえる電気融着用
長さ調整継手を提供するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、合成樹脂製継
手本体の一端に受口を設けると共に該受口の内周面に電
熱線を埋設し、他端に前記受口の内径とほぼ等しい外径
を有する差口を設けたことを特徴とする。

【作用】通常の電気融着継手の受口に合成樹脂管の端部
を嵌挿して融着接合を行なうとき、管の長さが不足する
場合には電気融着継手の受口に長さ調整継手の差口を嵌
挿して長さ調整を行なってから、該長さ調整継手の受口
に合成樹脂管の端部を嵌挿する。そこで、電気融着継手
と長さ調整継手のそれぞれの受口内周面に埋設した電熱
線に通電して発熱させると、合成樹脂管は電気融着継手
と長さ調整継手を介して融着接合する。

【実施例】以下、本発明の実施例を図面にて詳細に説明
する。図1は本発明の電気融着用長さ調整継手を用いた
合成樹脂管の接続状態を示す断面図、図2は本発明の電
気融着用長さ調整継手の一実施例を示す断面図、図3は
本発明の他の実施例を示す断面図であって、図中Aは電
気融着用長さ調整継手、Bは電気融着継手、Pはポリエ
チレン、ポリブテン等の合成樹脂管である。
【0008】長さ調整継手Aは、ポリエチレン、ポリブ
テン等の合成樹脂をインジェクションによって一体成形
したものであって、円筒状をなす継手本体1の一端に合
成樹脂管Pの外径とほぼ等しい内径を有する受口11が
設けられており、他端に前記受口11の内径とほぼ等し
い外径を有する差口12が設けられている。そして、前
記受口11の内周面には軸芯方向に所定間隔を保ってニ
クロム線等の電熱線2が螺旋状に埋設されており、該電
熱線2の両端部は継手本体1の外面に突出した端子ピン
21の下端部に接続している。尚、電熱線2の線径は継
手のサイズに応じて0.2〜4.0mmの範囲で適宜設
定することができる。
【0009】一方、電気融着継手Bは円筒状をなす継手
本体1bの両端に受口11bを有し、それぞれの受口1
1bの内周面に電熱線2bが埋設され、該電熱線2bの
両端部が継手本体1の外面から突出した端子ピン21b
と接続している。この電気融着継手Bを用いて配管施工
を行なうとき、合成樹脂管Pを必要とする長さに切断し
たにもかかわらず、長さが不足するため接続が行えない
ことがある。
【0010】この場合、電気融着継手Bの一方の受口1
1bに前記長さ調整継手Aの差口12を嵌挿し、該長さ
調整継手Aの受口11に合成樹脂管Pの端部を嵌挿す
る。あるいは、図1に示した如く、前記長さ調整継手A
の受口11に更に別の長さ調整継手Aの差口12を嵌挿
して長さ調整を行なってから該長さ調整継手Aの受口1
1に合成樹脂管Pの端部を嵌挿する。この様にして合成
樹脂管Pの仮配管を行なってから、長さ調整継手Aの電
熱線2と電気融着継手Bの電熱線2bに通電して発熱さ
せると、継手A,Bと合成樹脂管Pとが強固に融着接合
する。
【0011】尚、前記実施例では、継手本体1の外面に
端子ピン21を突設して各継手A毎に電熱線2を発熱さ
せるようにしたものを例示したが、本発明はこの構成に
限定されない。図3に示した如く、中間部の長さ調整継
手A1 の一方の端面にソケット22を設けると共に、他
方の端面に端子ピン23を突設し、該長さ調整継手A1
の両端に接続される長さ調整継手A2 と、電気融着継手
B1 の端面に前記ソケット22や端子ピン23と接続す
る端子ピン23やソケット22を設けてもよい。この様
にすると、両端の継手A2 ,B1 から突出した端子ピン
21,21bに電源コードを接続するだけで、それぞれ
の継手A1 ,A2 ,B1 の受口に埋設された電熱線2,
2bに電流が流れて一体的に融着接合が行なえるという
利点がある。

【発明の効果】以上詳述した如く、本発明の電気融着用
長さ調整継手を用いると、現場での配管施工の際に合成
樹脂管の長さが不足する場合でも簡単かつ確実に融着接
合が行なえる。

  1. 【請求項1】 合成樹脂製継手本体(1)の一端に受口
    (11)を設けると共に該受口(11)の内周面に電熱
    線(2)を埋設し、他端に前記受口(11)の内径とほ
    ぼ等しい外径を有する差口(12)を設けたことを特徴
    とする電気融着用長さ調整継手。
