Description
Claims (18)
- 1.光源と、二次元空間光変調器装置とを含み、前記装置はそれに入射する光を 変調するように別個に制御可能な複数個の異なる領域を含み、さらに投写のため の映像信号を受信し、それに応答して前記変調器装置の前記領域を別個に変調す るための制御手段を含み、前記変調器装置は前記光源のビーム内に位置決めされ 、さらに前記変調器によって変調された前記光源からビームを受信するように位 置決めされたスクリーンとを含む投写システムであって、スクリーンを眺める観 察者にとって前記光がスクリーンの領域にわたって実質的に均一であると知覚さ れるように、スクリーンの異なる部分にあたる光の量を変えるための手段が設け られることを特徴とする、システム。
- 2.変調器装置はアレイとして配列される複数個の個々に制御可能な変調エレメ ントを含み、かつ映像信号に応答して前記エレメントに個々にアクセスするため の手段が設けられる、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 3.エレメントは電気的に偏向可能なミラー装置を含む、請求項2に記載のシス テム。
- 4.光センサから信号を受信するための、および映像信号の後続の訂正の際に使 用するための基準信号をそれから発生し、スクリーンにその異なる部分で投写さ れる光の強度を変えるための手段をさらに含む、いずれかの先行する請求項に記 載のシステム。
- 5.前記受信手段に結合された光センサを含む、請求項4に記載のシステム。
- 6.受信手段はスクリーンの全領域に対応する信号値を含むように寸法決めされ た基準記憶装置での記憶のためのデジタル信号を供給するように配列され、かつ 複数個の連続画素値として映像信号を受信するための、前記記憶装置から対応す る訂正値を読出すための、かつ前記スクリーンから訂正された光強度を生み出す ような態様で訂正値に従って画素値を処理するための手段が設けられる、請求項 4または請求項5に記載のシステム。
- 7.前記訂正された画素値は前記変調器装置を制御するために使用されるより前 にフレーム記憶装置に記憶される、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 8.連続のアドレスを発生して画素データを前記フレーム記憶装置に書込むため の手段と、連続のアドレスを発生して前記フレーム記憶装置から画素データを読 出すための手段とが設けられ、2つの連続は走査変換を与えるように異なってい る、請求項7に記載のシステム。
- 9.プロジェクタとスクリーンとを含む投写システムで空間的に非均一なアンプ リチュードレスポンスを訂正する方法であって、プロジェクタは映像信号に応答 して前記スクリーン上に映像画像を投写し、前記方法はスクリーンの異なる領域 から振幅応答の測定を引き出すステップと、そのように引き出された測定を使用 してスクリーンのそれぞれの領域に向けられるであろう映像信号の対応する部分 を訂正するステップとを含み、測定は前記スクリーンの前の異なる観覧場所に対 応する複数個の異なる位置で受信された光振幅を測定することによって引き出さ れる、方法。
- 10.他のものよりいくつかの位置からの測定がより大きく考慮される、請求項 9に記載の方法。
- 11.スクリーンの異なる領域は選択的に連続的に照射され、かつ対応する測定 は各位置で連続的に行なわれる、請求項9または請求項10に記載の方法。
- 12.映像信号値は前記測定から引き出された記憶された対応する訂正値に従っ て連続的に訂正される、請求項9ないし11のいずれか1つに記載の方法。
- 13.プロジェクタと入力映像画像信号に従ってプロジェクタが投写された画像 を向けるスクリーンとを含む投写システムを使用して画像を表示する方法であっ て、投写システムの強度応答における空間のばらつきを測定するステップと、前 記強度応答におけるばらつきを実質的に減少させるようにスクリーンの異なった 部分にあたる投写された画像の強度を変化させるステップとを含む方法であって 、前記測定するステップは時間で異なる点で複数個の類似の測定を実行するステ ップと、さらに強度応答における一時的なばらつきのそれに対する効果を減少さ せるように前記測定の結果を組合せるステップとを含むことを特徴とする、方法 。
- 14.映像信号を表示する方法であって、表示スクリーン上に空間光変調器装置 を介して光ビームを向けるステップと、さらに映像信号に依存して光ビームを様 々に変調するように空間光変調器装置を制御するステップとを含む方法であって 、予め定められた基準信号に依存して映像信号を修正し、ビーム、変調器または スクリーンでの照射効率における空間のばらつきの知覚される効果を減少させる ステップを含むことを特徴とする、方法。
- 15.前記スクリーンに対して観覧位置に光センサを位置決めすることによって 基準信号を引き出すステップを含むことをさらに特徴とする、請求項14に記載 の方法。
- 16.訂正は映像信号の各部分を、映像信号のその部分を再生するであろう再生 装置の部分の知覚される照射効率に逆比例の関係でスケーリングするステップを 含むことをさらに特徴とする、請求項14または請求項15に記載の方法。
- 17.スケーリングは映像信号の任意の部分の値を増加させないことをさらに特 徴とする、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 18.前記スケーリングの前記再生された画像の全体の輝度に対する効果を減少 させるように光ビームの電力を設定するステップをさらに特徴とする、請求項1 6または請求項17に記載の方法。
