Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (技術分野) 本発明は熱可塑性材料からなる管状部材の溶着装置に関
するものである。
本発明装置は管状部材の外側周囲に配置された支持筒お
よび管状部材の内側周囲に配置された支持装置を具える
。支持筒および支持装置は加熱装置によって溶融される
管状部材の熱可塑性材料の周囲を包囲している。
また、本発明は管状部材のビード無し溝無し溶着連結部
の製造方法に関するものである。
(背景技術) 西独国特許(DB−C2)第2923205号には、熱
可塑性管状部材を継目無し連結する方法および装置が開
示されており、この特許では前記管状部材の衝合する端
部をその全周囲にわたって前記管状部材を取り囲む加熱
装置によって可塑化し、この管状部材を圧力下に連結し
、この際同時に支持装置を管状部材の内部に導入する。
この既知装置において支持装置は変化可能な容積を有し
、管状部材の内壁を穏やかに押圧する。
この既知の方法および装置は良好な溶着連結部を得るの
に必要な量の熱可塑性材料を溶融するのに長い加熱時間
が必要である欠点がある。特に、パイプの直径が比較的
大きく、これに対応して壁厚が厚い場合には、極めて長
い溶着時間が必要になる。
本発明の目的は、溶着時間を既知の装置および方法より
短くすることができる上述のタイプのビート無し溝無し
溶着を行う装置および方法を提供することにある。
(発明の開示) 本発明においては、加熱装置は少なくともl個の赤外線
加熱源を具え、支持筒が赤外線透過性材料から構成され
ていることにより、上述の目的を達成する。
溶着区域はすべての側面において被覆されているが、赤
外線透過性材料からなる支持筒を配置することにより赤
外線加熱諒を使用することができるので、溶着時間を短
縮することかできる。
本発明の新規な種々の特徴は特許請求の範囲に詳細に記
載されている通りである。
(実施例) 次に本発明を図面を参照して例について説明する。
第1図には熱可塑性材料からなる2個の管状部材1a,
 lbを示す。管状部材1a, lbの前端2を溶着す
るために第1図に示すように保持する。第l図に示す熔
着装置は管状部材1a. lbの外側周囲に取り付けら
れた支持筒3、管状部材1a, lbの内側周囲に取り
付けられた支持装置4、および加熱装置5を具える。
加熱装置5は赤外線加熱源6を具え、加熱源6は環状構
造を有し、支持筒3の外側周囲の回りに該外側周囲から
等距離離間させて取り付けられている。
支持筒3は赤外線透過性材料、例えば、石英ガラス、ア
ルミン酸カルシウムガラス、ゲルマニウム酸塩ガラス又
は硫化ヒ素ガラスからなる。支持筒3は一体に蝶着され
、折り重ねることのできる2個の部片から作るのが好ま
しい。
支持装置4は圧力媒体によって膨脹させることができる
弾性を有する袋であるのが好ましい。弾性を有する袋は
管状部材の衝合位置において管状部材の内側周囲に対し
て圧力を加える。また、支持装置4は破壊することもで
きるパイプ片又はプラグから構成することができる。
赤外線加熱源6は管状部材の衝合位置における溶着区域
内の熱可塑性材料を確実に迅速に溶融する。
第2図に示す管状部材の長手方向Lの所望温度パターン
20は、第l図に示すように、赤外線加熱源6と管状部
材1a, lbの表面との間に或る距離を維持し、角α
が比較的小さくなる区域において熱線を部分反射させる
ことによって達成される。赤外線の波長は、熱が熱可塑
性材料中にできる限り深く侵入するように選定する必要
があるが、放射熱が熱可塑性管状部材の表面又は内部に
おいて熱可塑性材料を破壊することがあってはならない
環状赤外線加熱源の代りに、支持筒の回りを回動し、長
平方向に細条状又は線状の赤外線パターンを作る個々の
赤外線加熱源を配置することもできる。放射線パターン
が回動ずる結果、常に熱可塑性材料の一部のみが周囲方
向において溶融するので、溶着圧力(+velding
 pressure)の良好な増強が達威される。回転
半径を調節可能にすることによって、管状部材が異なる
直径を有する場合でも、赤外線加熱源6と管状部材1a
, lbの表面との間の最適な距離を調節することがで
きる。
第3図は特に比較的大きい直径を有する管状部材1a,
 Ibを溶着するのに使用される本発明装置の例を示す
第3図では、外側支持筒3のほかに、内側支持装置も赤
外線透過性材料からなる管状支持部片7として構成され
、第2赤外線加熱源8が内部に配置されている。第3図
に示すように、第2赤外線加熱源8は中心に配置するこ
とができ、従って円周方向に閉じている放射パターンを
作ることができる。また、第2赤外線加熱源8は、半径
方向に調節可能にすることにより、異なるパイプ直径に
対して調節できる回動ずる赤外線加熱源として構成する
ことができる。熱可塑性材料を外側および内側から同時
に加熱することにより、極めて短い可塑化時間、従って
短い溶着時間が達成されるので、比較的厚い壁厚を有す
るパイプでもビード無し溝無しで効果的に溶着すること
ができる。
第4図に示す溶着装置では、管状部材1a, lbの前
端2は互に或る距離離間して保持されている。
管状部材1aおよび1bの端部、ならびに該端部間の空
間lOを、外側周囲においては赤外線透過性材料からな
る支持筒3によって覆い、内側周囲においては管状支持
部片7によって覆う。前端2およひ端部の部分は第1図
について説明したような赤外線加熱源6によって外側の
みから溶融するか、あるいは比較的大きいパイプ直径の
場合には外側のほか第3図について説明したようにな第
2赤外線加熱源8によって内側から溶融する。
前端2は3個の側面において赤外線の作用を受けること
ができるので熱可塑性材料は極めて迅速に溶融し、次い
で図示しない装置によって管状部材1.a, 1.bを
一緒に移動させ、この移動の際に調節可能な圧力によっ
て必要な溶着圧を生じさせる。
支持筒および内側支持装置によって、溶融した熱可塑性
材料の変形は確実に起らなくなるので固体の(soli
d)ビード無し溶着連結部が得られる。
全溶着時間を短縮するために、溶着装置に冷却装置を設
けることができ、冷却装置は赤外線加熱源を消した後に
溶着区域を外側、内側あるいは両方の側から、例えは空
気によって、溶着連結部が固化するまで、迅速に冷却す
る。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、熱可塑性材料からなる管状部材をビード無し溝無し
    溶着する装置であって、前記管状部材の外側周囲に配置
    された支持筒および前記管状部材の内側周囲に配置され
    た支持装置を具え、さらに前記支持筒および前記支持装
    置によって周囲を包囲されている前記管状部材を構成す
    る前記熱可塑性材料を溶融するための加熱装置を具える
    管状部材の溶着装置において、 前記加熱装置は少なくとも1個の第1赤外 線加熱源を具え、前記支持筒が赤外線透過性材料から構
    成されていることを特徴とする管状部材の溶着装置。 2、前記管状部材の内部に取り付けられた第2赤外線加
    熱源を具え、前記内側支持装置が管状支持部片でありか
    つ赤外線透過性材料から構成されている請求項1記載の
    装置。 3、前記第1赤外線加熱源が環状構造を有し、前記支持
    筒の外側周囲から等距離に取り付けられている請求項1
    記載の装置。 4、前記第1赤外線加熱源は周囲方向に回動できるよう
    に取り付けられており、前記第1赤外線加熱源は前記周
    囲方向を横断する方向に細条状又は線状の赤外線パター
    ンを作るための手段を具える請求項1記載の装置。 5、前記第1赤外線加熱源は前記外側支持筒の外側周囲
    に対して調節可能な等しい距離において回動できるよう
    に取り付けられている請求項4記載の装置。 6、前記第2赤外線加熱源は前記管状支持部片の内側周
    囲に対して等しい距離において回動できるように取り付
    けられている請求項2記載の装置。 7、前記赤外線透過性材料は石英ガラス、アルミン酸カ
    ルシウムガラス、ゲルマニウム酸塩ガラスおよび硫化ヒ
    素ガラスからなる群から選択したガラスである請求項1
    記載の装置。 8、前記赤外線透過性材料は石英ガラス、アルミン酸カ
    ルシウムガラス、ゲルマニウム酸塩ガラスおよび硫化ヒ
    素ガラスからなる群から選択したガラスである請求項2
    記載の装置。 9、前記支持装置は圧力媒体によって膨脹させることが
    できる耐熱性エラストマー製の袋である請求項1記載の
    装置。 10、熱可塑性材料からなる管状材料のビード無し溝無
    し溶着連結部を製造するに当り、 前記管状材料の外側周囲に配置された支持 筒と前記管状材料の内側周囲に配置された支持装置との
    間に、前記管状材料の互に衝合する端部を配置し、 前記管状材料の互に衝合する端部の前記熱 可塑性材料を少なくとも1個の第1赤外線加熱源によっ
    て加熱し、 この際前記第1赤外線加熱源を前記支持筒 の外側に取り付け、前記支持筒を赤外線透過性材料から
    構成する ことを特徴とする管状部材の溶着連結部の製造方法。 11、前記管状部材の互に衝合する端部をさらに前記管
    状部材の内部に設けた第2赤外線加熱源によって加熱す
    る請求項10記載の方法。 12、前記管状部材の互に衝合する端部の前記可塑性材
    料を溶融させ、次いで冷却用空気のような媒体によって
    前記端部を冷却する請求項10記載の方法。 13、熱可塑性材料からなる管状部材のビード無し溝無
    し溶着連結部を製造するに当り、 前記管状部材の外側周囲に配置された支持 筒と前記管状部材の内側周囲に配置された支持装置との
    間に、前記管状部材の端部を互に軸線方向の所定の距離
    離間させて配置し、 前記管状材料の互に対面する端部の前記熱 可塑性材料を少なくとも1個の第1赤外線加熱源によっ
    て加熱し、しかる後に前記管状部材に軸線方向の圧力を
    加えることにより前記管状部材の端部を合体させ、 この際前記第1赤外線加熱源を前記支持筒 の外側に取り付け、前記支持筒を赤外線透過性材料から
    構成する ことを特徴とする管状部材の溶着連結部の製造方法。 14、前記管状部材の端部を、さらに前記管状部材の内
    部に設けた第2赤外線加熱源によって加熱する請求項1
    3記載の方法。 15、前記管状部材の互に対面する端部の前記可塑性材
    料を溶融させ、次いで前記合体した端部を冷却用空気の
    ような媒体によって冷却する請求項13記載の方法。
