Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明はプラスチック部品への金網溶着方法の改良に関
する。
(従来の技術) 例えば、自動車用オイルフィルターでは、第4図に示す
ように、プラスチック部品であるケースlの内面の周囲
11にフィルターとして金属製金具2を溶着させて取り
付ける。そのため、内面周囲11の溶着部には複数の山
形突条I2を設け、その上に金網2を載置し、この金網
2を縦方向に延びる位置決め部材4にて位置決めし、上
記山形突条12をその対向する金網裏面より、例えば、
超音波ホーン3にて押圧して熔融させて、溶着するよう
にしている。
(発明の解決すべき課題) しかるに、従来構造では、第5図に示すような断面形状
であり、金網2の先端部2■が非固定であり、網を構成
する細い線材がほぐれてオイル内に混入する懸念がある
。特に超音波溶着の場合、金網2の端部が超音波ホーン
による溶着時に振動を受けてちぎれるなどの損傷が生じ
やすく、また熔融した突条部の樹脂が金網の裏面に十分
に回りきらず、溶着強度に欠ける場合かあるという問題
点がある。  そこで、本発明は超音波ホーンにて溶着
を行う場合においても金網に損傷を与えず、しかも十分
な溶着強度を与えるプラスチック部品ヘの金網溶着方法
を提供することを目的とする。
(課題を解決するための手段) 本発明は、プラスチック部品の金網の溶着部に突設され
る山形突条の外側に位置決め用の突条を別途設け、この
突条も溶融させて金網先端部を覆うことにより上記課題
を解決することができることに着目してなされたもので
、 熱可塑性プラスチック製の成形体に金網を溶着するにあ
たり、 成形体の溶着面に棲巷a山形突条を設け、この突条の外
側に金網外周形状よりやや外側に位置し、前記突条の高
さに金網の厚みを加えた高さよりも所定寸法高い位置決
め突条を設け、 少なくとも、周突条を覆う幅の押付具にて周突条を熔融
固着することを要旨とするプラスチック部品への金網溶
着方法にある。
本発明方法は上記押付具として超音波ホーンを用いる場
合だけでなく、高周波による加熱溶融を利用する場合に
も適用可能である。
(作用) 本発明によれば、金網は位置決め突条によって位置決め
され、該位置決め突条は上記山形突条に先立って超音波
ホーン等の押付具により熔融し、その先溶はビードが金
網端部をくるみ込むように被さり、その後山形突条が熔
融し、金網を溶着することになる。
以下、本発明を添付図面に示す具体例に基づき、詳細に
説明する。
(実施例) 第1図は本発明に係る金網溶着方法の概要を示す断面説
明図で、第2図はその部分拡大図、第3図はその溶着方
法により溶着された金網の溶着部の断面拡大図である。
図面において、1°は自動車用オイルフィルターの外部
ケースの下部材で、熱可塑性樹脂、例えばナイロン樹脂
成形体からなり、その金網溶着面11には内方に一対の
断面山形突条12が一体的に成形されている。しかも、
その山形突条12のやや外側寄り周囲には山形突条12
の高さを越える(図面ではおよそ0.2〜0.3s+s
)位置決め突条13が一体的に形成されている。
2はフィルター用金網で、通常ステンレススチール製で
製造されるものであって、オイル内の微細なゴミなどを
濾去できるメツシスとなっている。
この金網2はその周縁部21を上記山形突条12上に!
1!置し、その周端を位置決め突条13によって所定の
位置にセットされる。
このようなセット状態において、超音波ホーン3°を上
記山形突条12および位置決め突条13を覆う先端幅を
有し、その周突条をまたがって対設し、以下の条件で発
振させると同時に押し付けると、まず位置決め突条13
が山形突条12に先立って熔融し、金網周縁部21をく
るみ込むように上側に回り込むことになる。それと同時
に山形突条12が溶は始め、上記回り込んだ熔融樹脂と
一体となって金網周縁部21をその表裏面から溶着する
ことになる。
超音波ホーン溶着条件 ホーン振幅:50μm 発振周波数:20kHz ホーン材質:ジュラルミン 加圧力  : 5k y /am’ (発明の効果) 以上の説明で明らかなように、本発明においては、プラ
スチック部品の金網の溶着部に突設される山形突条の外
側に位置決め用の突条を別途設け、少なくとも、周突条
を覆う幅の押付具にて周突条を熔融固着するようにした
ので、金網は位置決め突条によって位置決めされて容易
にセット可能であり、しかもこの位置決め突条は上記山
形突条に先立って熔融し、その先溶はビードが金網端部
をくるみ込むように被さり、それに対し山形突条が熔融
し、両者が一体となって金網を溶着する。しかも、溶着
カスも発生することがないので、強固に溶着されること
になる。特に、押付具として超音波ホーンを用いる場合
は金網周縁部が損傷することがないので、製品歩留まり
が著しく向上することになる。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、熱可塑性プラスチック製の成形体に金網を溶着する
    方法において、 成形体の溶着面に山形突条を設け、この突条の外側に金
    網外周形状よりやや外側に位置し、前記突条の高さに金
    網の厚みを加えた高さよりも所定寸法高い位置決め突条
    を設け、 少なくとも、両突条を覆う幅の押付具にて両突条を熔融
    固着することを特徴とするプラスチック部品への金網溶
    着方法。
