Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 （産業上の利用分野） 本発明は、自動取引処理装置に係り特に防犯対策に好適
な、浮き彫り表記した文字・数字・記号と磁気ストライ
プを備えるカードの使用による自動取引処理装置に関す
る。
（従来の技術） 従来技術は、特開昭６０−２９８６８号公報に開示され
ているように、カードの使用者がカード所有者本人であ
るか否かを確認するため、カード使用者の音声、指紋な
どを基礎にして判断するものである。
一方、特願昭６３−０１２５０９号の先行発明は、カー
ドにエンボシングすなわち浮き彫り加工された文字・数
字・記号（以下エンボスと略称する）を感圧紙にインプ
リントするのでなく、前記エンボスを光学的にイメージ
情報として非接触で読出すものである。
（発明が解決しようとする課題） 上記従来技術は、該当する金融機関のセンターファイル
に照会して、キー人力した暗証番号とカードの磁気スト
ライプから読出した口座番号とが一致すれば、カード使
用者がカード所有者であると確認し得たものとして取引
を開始するものである。したがって、何らかの方法で、
他人の口座番号と暗証番号とを不正に知ることができた
第３者が、カードの磁気ストライプデータを改ざんして
使用すれば、不正な取引が成立するという危険性があっ
た、前記公知例にみられるように、カード所有者本人で
あることを確認することは、設備投資が嵩み、音声や指
紋などの事前登録を要するなど利用者にとっては煩雑で
、金融機関のオンラインなど大規模なシステム下では実
現に難があり問語であった。このため、カード利用者の
本人確認が簡便になされるような配慮が好ましい。本発
明は従来技術の上記課題を解決し、設備費用が低廉で防
犯対策の優れた自動取引処理装置を提供することを目的
とするものである。
（課題を解決するための手段） 上記の目的は、カードの磁気ストライプに書き込まれた
金融機関名、口座番号等の情報を読出す手段と、カード
表面にエンボスで表示された金融機関名、口座番号等を
読出す手段とにより１両者の一致を照合判定することに
よって達成される。
さらに要すれば、カード表面に印刷された金融機関名１
色彩模様等の物理的光学的特徴を同時に検知しこれらの
情報を総合的にチエツクすることが好ましい。
（作用） まず、磁気ヘッドによりカードの磁気ストライプに書き
込まれた上記情報が読出される６次いで磁気カード斜め
上方のライン光源からの照射を受は磁気カード平面から
の正反射光を受光する位置に設けたイメージセンサによ
りカード平面部は明るくエンボスの上面と横面ば暗く、
全体としては明るいカード平面上にエンボスは暗いイメ
ージ情報として浮かび上がる。このイメージ情報をイメ
ージセンサで読出した上で、文字・記号の認識処理を行
なって、エンボス表示された金融機関名、口座番号、氏
名等を文字コード化する。一方、磁気ヘッドが読出す磁
気ストライプにも金融機関名。
口座番号１氏名等が書込まれているので、カードから読
出した双方のデータが一致すれば基本的に前記カードは
正常であるとの判定がなされる。
さらに、印刷されたカード名もイメージセンサで読出し
たり、金融機関マークの色彩模様をカラーセンサでチエ
ツクすれば、改ざんされたカードによる不正取引の防止
は確実になされる。
（実施例） 本発明の一実施例を図面と共に説明する。第１図は本発
明に係る自動取引処理装置におけるカード確認の信号処
理ブロック図である０図示しない自動取引装置には、カ
ード処理機構の他に、顧客が取引内容を指示する操作パ
ネル２０、現金支払と預入れを行なう現金の入出金機構
、主制御部および電源が内蔵されている。第２図は顧客
が持参した磁気カードに記録されている磁気ストライプ
とエンボスのデータフォーマットを例示したものである
。第３図はカード処理機構１の概略配置図で、振込券発
行部２は振込処理に必要なデータを記録した振込券３と
呼ばれる紙カードを発行するものである。顧客が操作パ
ネルから振込券３の発行を要求すると、ホッパ４から搬
送路５に繰り出された振込券３は、まず印字ヘッド６で
振込元と振込先の金融機関名、口座番号等を印字後、印
字内容と同一データを磁気ストライプに書き込んだ上で
挿入口８から顧客に払い出される。
次にエンボスされたプラスチック製の磁気カード９の取
扱について説明する。第３図において、挿入口８に差し
込まれた磁気カード９は、まず取扱可能か否かをカード
検知センサ１０によってチエツクした後、規定のカード
と判定された場合は、モータ１１で駆動されるローラ１
２により、磁気ヘッド７の直下まで搬送され、磁気スト
ライプから必要なデータの読出しを行なう０本発明の磁
気ストライプ情報を読出す手段は１例えば本実施例では
磁気ヘッド７を含む第１図に示す制御系をいう。
磁気ストライプの読出しが終了すると磁気カード９は、
光学読出し部１３まで搬送され、エンボスや磁気カード
９の表面に印刷された模様１色彩などの光学的特徴を読
出す０本発明のカード表面に設けた凸起情報を光学的に
読出す手段は１例えば本実施例では光学読出し部１３及
び第１図に示す制御系をいう、なお、回収箱１４は取引
が終了して挿入口まで返還された磁気カード９や振込券
３を顧客が取忘れたままとなった場合、これを回収して
保管しておくためのものである。
光学読出し部１３には、磁気カード９のエンボスや表面
に印刷した模様および振込界３の印字文字を読出すイメ
ージセンサ１５と、印刷色の色彩模様を読出すカラーセ
ンサ１６とが取付けられる。
イメージセンサ１５はＣＣＤなどライン状に多数並んだ
受光素子で構成され、エンボスの凸起イメージを読出す
場合は、ＬＥＤアレイ１７Ａを点灯し、磁気カード９の
印刷模様や振込界３の印字文字など平面のイメージを読
出す場合には、ＬＥＤアレイ１７Ｂを点灯する。カラー
センサ１６は磁気カード９の金融機関マークなど特徴の
ある色が印刷されている位置に取付けられ、ＬＥＤアレ
イ１７Ｃで照射された反射光を受光する。第４図にエン
ボスの凸起イメージの読み取り機構の概念図を示す、第
４図において、ＬＥＤアレイ１７Ａが磁気カード９の上
面を照射する光軸角と、イメージセンサ１５が磁気カー
ド９からの反射光を受光する光軸角とが等しく、磁気カ
ード９の上面で正反射となるよう光学系を調整しておく
、ＬＥＤアレイ１７Ａの発光は、スリット１８でライン
状にカットされ、磁気カード９を照射する。一方イメー
ジセンサ１５側は、この磁気カード９表面上のライン光
を受光するようレンズ１９を配置しておく。このような
位置関係で、磁気カード９と光学読出し部１３との位置
を相対的に変える（第４図では光学系を移動）と、イメ
ージセンサ１５の受光量は磁気カード９の平面部では多
く、エンボスの上面と横面では少ない。すなわちエンボ
スのみが暗く浮かび上がるので、この明暗イメージから
エンボスを読出すことができる。第１図において、磁気
カード９の磁気ストライプのデータを読み書きする磁気
ヘッド７は磁気ヘッド制御部、カラーセンサ１６とＬＥ
Ｄアレイ１７Ｇはカラーセンサ制御部、イメージセンサ
１５とＬＥＤアレイ１７Ａ、１７Ｂとはイメージセンサ
制御部で制御される。また操作パネル２０は主制御部で
制御される。
イメージセンサ１５から得た磁気カード９のエンボスや
振込界３の印字文字はイメージセンサ制御部から文字認
識部に入力され、文字コード化される。これらのカード
情報は総合判定部に入力される。磁気カード９の磁気ス
トライプやエンボスに記録するデータフォーマットは金
融機関ごとに規定されており、その−例を第２図に示す
、そこで、総合判定部では磁気カード９での磁気ストラ
イプとエンボスとの金融機関番号、口座番号についての
一致や、振込界３で磁気ストライプデータと印字文字と
の一致をチエツクする。また、総合判定部に事前に登録
しである金融機関マークの色彩模様等もチエツクした上
で、磁気カード９や振込界３のこれらの真偽判定結果が
すべて正常であるなら、カード認識データとして主制御
部に入力する。
一方顧客が操作パネル２ｏから入力した暗証データも主
制御部に入力されるので、これらのデータは回線を経由
してセンタのホストＣＰＵと交信し、ファイルに記録さ
れた口座番号などと照合の上取引が開始される。
（発明の効果） 本発明の実施により、次の効果が得られる。
（１）カードの磁気ストライプ情報を読出す手段に、カ
ード表面のエンボスを光学的に読出す手段を追加してカ
ードの真偽判定を行なうことにより、改ざんして行使さ
れたカードによる自動取引装置の不正な使用を防止する
ことができる。
（２）振込界の磁気データが印字内容と一致するか否か
の確認ができ操作性と信頼性の向上に効果をもたらし、
または振込界の表裏逆セットの防止など副次的効果も得
られる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １、カードに記録された情報を判定手段により読出して
    取引を開始する自動取引処理装置において、前記判定手
    段はカード上の磁気ストライプ情報を読出す手段と、前
    記カード表面に設けた凸起情報を光学的に読出す手段か
    らなることを特徴とする自動取引処理装置。
