Description

広義において、本発明は、セラミック材料を製造するシステム及び方法に関する。より具体的には、本開示は、粉末製品の特定の特徴及び/又は特性(すなわち、粒子形状、粒度分布)に適合させるために、種々の金属ホウ化物セラミック粉末を炭素熱合成することに関する。

Claims (11)
- (a)複数の試剤に少なくとも1つの添加剤を加えて前駆体混合物を調製することと、
(b)前記前駆体混合物を炭素熱反応させて、二ホウ化チタン粒子を生成することと、を含む方法であって、
前記(a)において、前記複数の試剤は、二酸化チタン、ホウ素源、及び炭素源を含み、前記少なくとも1つの添加剤は、
(i)Co、Ni若しくはWの酸化物、又は前記酸化物の組合せ、
(ii)Co、Ni、若しくはWの塩、又は前記塩の組合せ、
(iii)Co、Ni、若しくはWの純金属、又は前記純金属の組合せ、
(iv)Co、Ni、若しくはWの合金、又は前記合金の組合せ、及び
(v)前記(i)乃至前記(iv)の組合せ、
からなる群から選択され、
前記(b)において、前記二ホウ化チタン粒子は、二ホウ化チタン粉末を構成し、
(i)前記二ホウ化チタン粒子は、少なくとも部分的には前記少なくとも1つの添加剤により、不規則、板状及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される形態を実現し、
(ii)前記二ホウ化チタン粉末は、少なくとも部分的には前記少なくとも1つの添加剤により、微小、中間、及び粗大からなる群から選択される粒度分布を実現し、
前記少なくとも1つの添加剤は、前記二ホウ化チタン粉末の全重量に対して0.001~0.75重量%である、方法。 - 少なくとも1つの添加剤は、コバルト、ニッケル、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項1の方法。
- 炭素熱反応させる間、前駆体混合物をプロセスガス流れに曝露することにより、炭素熱反応の好ましくない副生成物を除去することをさらに含む、請求項1の方法。

(ii)前記板状形態の二ホウ化チタン粒子によって生成される粉末は、中間粒度分布又は粗大粒度分布を実現する、請求項1の方法。 - (a)前駆体混合物を生成することと、
(b)前記前駆体混合物を炭素熱反応させて、二ホウ化チタン粒子を生成すること、とを含む方法であって、
前記(a)は、二酸化チタン、ボロン源及び炭素源を含む混合物に対して、Niを0.0625~0.5重量%添加することを含み、
前記(b)において、前記二ホウ化チタン粒子は、不規則及び板状からなる群から選択される形態を実現し、
(i)不規則形態の前記二ホウ化チタン粒子によって生成される粉末は、微細粒度分布を実現し、
