例示的な多段ポリマーの調製
本発明による例示的な多段ポリマーおよび比較多段ポリマーは、表1に列挙された成分を含有する。
例示および比較多段ポリマーの粒子サイズおよび固形分
実施例1で調製した例示的な多段ポリマーE1~E3および比較多段ポリマーC1を、表2に示すように粒子径および固形分について評価した。
例示および比較多段ポリマーの接着特性およびヘイズ特性
実施例1で調製した例示的な多段ポリマーE1~E3および比較多段ポリマーC1を、ポリマー単離、フィルム調製およびアクリレート合わせガラス調製後の接着力(パンメル接着試験を用いて測定)およびヘイズレベルについて評価した。実施例1で調製した例示的な多段ポリマーE1~E3および比較多段ポリマーC1のそれぞれから調製したエマルジョンを、CaCl2溶液による凝集によって単離し、オーブン内で真空乾燥させた。得られた粉末を次いでCollin Mill(W.H.Collin GmbH Maschienefabrik)を用いて175℃で3分間処理した。粉砕が完了した後、溶融ポリマーを金属ロールから剥がして冷却して、マイクロメーターで測定して350~400ミクロンの範囲の厚さのフィルムを得た。例示的な多段ポリマーE1~E3および比較多段ポリマーC1から調製して得られたフィルムを、Hazegard Plus(BYK-Gardner GmbH)を用いてASTM D1003に従ってヘイズレベルについて評価した。典型的な商業的性能は2%以下のヘイズ値を必要とする。ヘイズ特性の結果を表3に示す。
Claims (10)
- 多段ポリマーを含むポリマー組成物であって、
(a)前記多段ポリマーの全重量に基づいて、25~45重量%の架橋コアであって、前記架橋コアの全重量に基づいて、(i)95~99.9重量%の1種以上のアルキル(メタ)アクリレートモノマー、ならびに(ii)0.1~5重量%の架橋性モノマー、グラフト結合性モノマー、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される1種以上のモノマー、から誘導された重合単位を含む、架橋コアと、
(b)前記多段ポリマーの全重量に基づいて、25~45重量%の第1の中間層であって、前記第1の中間層の全重量に基づいて、(i)95~100重量%の1種以上のアルキル(メタ)アクリレートモノマー、ならびに(ii)0~5重量%の架橋性モノマー、グラフト結合性モノマー、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されるモノマー、から誘導された重合単位を含む、第1の中間層と、
(c)前記多段ポリマーの全重量に基づいて、5~25重量%の第2の中間層であって、前記第2の中間層の全重量に基づいて、(i)98~100重量%のアルキル(メタ)アクリレートモノマー、スチレン系モノマー、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される1種以上のモノマー、ならびに(ii)0~2重量%の1種以上の連鎖移動剤、から誘導された重合単位を含む、第2の中間層と、
(d)前記多段ポリマーの全重量に基づいて、5~25重量%のシェルであって、前記シェルの全重量に基づいて、(i)84~98重量%のアルキル(メタ)アクリレートモノマー、スチレン系モノマー、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される1種以上のモノマー、(ii)2~16重量%の1種以上のヒドロキシル官能化モノマー、ならびに(iii)0~2重量%の1種以上の連鎖移動剤、から誘導される重合単位を含む、シェルと、を含む多段ポリマーを含む、ポリマー組成物。 - 前記多段ポリマーは、前記多段ポリマーの全重量に基づいて、(a)30~40重量%の量の前記架橋コアと、(b)30~40重量%の量の前記第1の中間層と、(c)10~20重量%の量の前記第2の中間層と、(d)10~20重量%の量の前記シェルと、を含む、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記架橋コア、第1の中間層、第2の中間層、およびシェルの、前記1種以上のアルキル(メタ)アクリレートモノマーは、メチルメタクリレート、エチルアクリレート、ブチルアクリレート、ブチルメタクリレート、エチルヘキシルアクリレート、シクロペンチルアクリレート、シクロヘキシルアクリレート、ベンジルアクリレート、ベンジルメタクリレート、イソオクチルアクリレート、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の組成物。
