- 被検出物の回転に伴って第1回転軸を中心に回転可能に設けられるとともに、前記第1回転軸に交差する円環形状の主面と、前記主面上に設けられた複数の第1歯とを有する第1歯車と、
前記第1歯よりも歯数の多い第2歯を有するとともに、前記第1歯車と噛み合って第2回転軸を中心に回転可能に設けられた第2歯車と、
前記第2歯車の回転角度を検出するセンサと、を備え、
前記第2回転軸は、前記第1歯車の中心と、前記第1歯車と前記第2歯車とが噛み合っている位置とを結ぶ仮想線と、前記第1回転軸との双方に直交する方向に延び、
前記複数の第1歯のそれぞれは、前記主面の周方向へ向かうに従って前記主面の径方向の外側から内側に向かうように延び、
前記複数の第1歯のうちの隣接する2つは、前記径方向において重なって配置されている、
