Claims (7)
- 側面視で後輪(WR)に重なるようにして前記後輪(WR)の外側方に配置される排気マフラー(30L,30R)が、当該排気マフラー(30L,30R)に取付けられるマフラープロテクタ(40L,40R)で覆われる鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置において、
前記マフラープロテクタ(40L,40R)が、前記後輪(WR)側から前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)を覆う内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)と、前記後輪(WR)とは反対の車両外側から前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)を覆う外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)とから成り、
単一の前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)が、前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)を該排気マフラー(30L,30R)の長手方向全長にわたって覆うように形成される一方、全体が前記後輪(WR)とは反対側に向かって解放形状をなす前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)が、車両前後方向で前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)の後部の側面のみを覆うように形成され、
前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)が、前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)の前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)への取付け状態を維持したままで、前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)もしくは前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)に着脱可能に取付けられることを特徴とする鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置。 - 前記後輪(WR)側に向かって開放形状をなす前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)と、前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)とが、横断面形状を多角形とするとともに上辺の前記後輪(WR)側の角部(127)が前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)で形成されるように組み合わされることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記マフラープロテクタ(40L,40R)で覆われる前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)が、前記後輪(WR)の車幅方向両側に配置されることを特徴とする請求項1または3に記載の鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)が、前記排気マフラー(30L,30R)に取付けられた前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)に着脱可能に取付けられることを特徴とする請求項1,3,4のいずれか1項に記載の鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)に固着される複数の突片(113,114)が、前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)の裏面の複数箇所に設けられる保持部(115,116)に、それぞれラバー(117,118)を介して差し込み保持されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)の下部が、前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)の下部に、単一の締結部材(121)で固定されることを特徴とする請求項5または6に記載の鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置。
- 前記内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)の下部には、当該内側プロテクタ半体(80L,80R)の下部内面から上方に突出した取付け部(122a)を有するステー(122)が設けられるとともに、前記取付け部(122a)に対応した開口部(125)が形成され、当該開口部(125)に挿入される前記締結部材(121)で前記取付け部(122a)が前記外側プロテクタ半体(81L,81R)の下部に締結されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の鞍乗り型車両用内燃機関の排気装置。
