Description
125ミリリットルの低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)の瓶に以下の表1に列挙されるインク構成要素を秤量することによって、デジタルオフセット印刷に適した白色インクを調製した。次いで、90%の強度、周波数60Hz、約100Gの力で約15分、RAM Resodyn(商標)ミキサーを用いた音響混合によって、このサンプルを処理した。処理したサンプルを金属製ビーカーに取り出し、アンカーインペラを用い、80℃で約60分間、加熱しつつ撹拌した。最後に、このインクをErweka 3ロールミルに3回通し、次いで、褐色ガラス瓶に取り出した。
上に記載したように調製されたそれぞれの白色インクを、Thwing−Albert Company(フィラデルフィア、ペンシルバニア)から入手可能なinkometer 1100で試験した。インコメーター上のUVインク用のローラーを32.2℃で平衡状態にした。それぞれの場合に、1.3ミリリットルのインクを分配ロールに塗布し、他のローラーへの転写および分配を150RMPで15秒間継続し、この時点で、ローラーの速度を1200rpmまで自動的に上げた。インクの粘着性の測定を20秒ごとに10分間行った。例示的な粘着性データの基準を以下の表2に提示する。
上述のように調製された白色インクのレオロジーを、周波数が0.1〜100ラジアン/秒(rad/s)の範囲になるような周波数スイーププロトコルを用い、35℃で、RFS−3レオメーター(Rheometrics Scientific、現在はTA Instruments、ニューキャッスル、デラウェアの一部)で試験した。非常に低い周波数(0.1rad/s)、中程度の周波数(1〜10rad/s)および計器が測定可能な最も高い周波数(100rad/s)での粘度を含む、選択される粘度基準を以下の表3に示す。種々の周波数での粘度の比率も表3にまとめている。
Claims (8)
- デジタルオフセット印刷で使用するための白色インク組成物であって、
第1の複数の白色顔料粒子を含み、前記第1の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも40重量%が250ナノメートル〜350ナノメートルの範囲の平均直径を有する第1の白色着色剤と、
第2の複数の白色顔料粒子を含み、前記第2の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも40重量%が450ナノメートル〜550ナノメートルの範囲の平均直径を有する第2の白色着色剤と、
少なくとも1つの分散剤と、
硬化性モノマーおよび硬化性オリゴマーからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの構成要素と、
光開始剤とを含み、
前記第1の複数の白色顔料粒子が二酸化チタン顔料粒子であり、前記第2の複数の白色顔料粒子が二酸化チタン顔料粒子である、白色インク組成物。 - 前記第1の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも75重量%が250ナノメートル〜350ナノメートルの範囲の平均直径を有し、前記第2の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも75重量%が450ナノメートル〜550ナノメートルの範囲の平均直径を有する、請求項1に記載の白色インク組成物。
- 前記第1の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも75重量%が300ナノメートルの平均直径を有し、前記第2の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも75重量%が500ナノメートルの平均直径を有する、請求項3に記載の白色インク組成物。
- 前記白色インク組成物の粘着性が、1200rpm、32℃で60秒後に26gm〜35gmの範囲である、請求項1に記載の白色インク組成物。
- 前記白色インク組成物の粘着性は、1200rpm、32℃で60秒後に27gm〜31gmの範囲である、請求項1に記載の白色インク組成物。
- 前記白色インク組成物の粘着安定性が少なくとも10分維持される、請求項1に記載の白色インク組成物。
- デジタルオフセット印刷方法であって、前記方法は、
湿し液が配置された再画像作成可能な画像化部材表面に白色インク組成物を塗布することと、
インク画像を作成することと、
前記インク画像を、前記画像化部材の前記再画像作成可能な表面から、印刷可能な基材へと転写することとを含み、
前記白色インク組成物が、
第1の複数の白色顔料粒子を含み、前記第1の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも40重量%が250ナノメートル〜350ナノメートルの範囲の平均直径を有する第1の白色着色剤と、
第2の複数の白色顔料粒子を含み、前記第2の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも40重量%が450ナノメートル〜550ナノメートルの範囲の平均直径を有する第2の白色着色剤と、
少なくとも1つの分散剤と、
硬化性モノマーおよび硬化性オリゴマーからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの構
成要素と、
光開始剤とを含み、
前記第1の複数の白色顔料粒子が二酸化チタン顔料粒子であり、前記第2の複数の白色顔料粒子が二酸化チタン顔料粒子である、方法。 - 前記第1の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも40重量%が300ナノメートルの平均直径を有し、前記第2の複数の白色顔料粒子全量中に対する少なくとも40重量%が500ナノメートルの平均直径を有する、請求項7に記載の方法。
