Description
なお、以下、出射ユニット3の回転軸方向において、本実施形態に係るレーザー接合装置1の、樹脂パイプ30及び樹脂部品31が設置される側を正面側、設置されない側を背面側と定義する。
駆動装置2は、出射ユニット3を回転させる装置であり、図3に示すように、架台6の背面側に取り付けられている。この駆動装置2は、駆動プーリー11と、モーター12と、2つのタイミングプーリー13及び14と、2つのアイドラプーリー15と、各プーリーに巻き掛けられたタイミングベルト16と、から構成される。アイドラプーリー15は、タイミングプーリー13及び14と駆動プーリー11との間に、それぞれ配置されている。
なお、タイミングプーリー13及び14は、連結体18によって連結されていなくてもよい。
なお、モーター12は、回転速度を制御しないものであってもよいが、その場合、接合させる樹脂部品31の断面形状は円形であることが好ましい。
出射ユニット3は、図1に示すように、レーザー光20を出射する照明リング7と、電源に接続する光ファイバー8と、出射されたレーザー光20が照射される部分を撮影するモニターカメラ9と、を有している。出射ユニット3は、駆動装置2の背面側、かつ、タイミングプーリー13の、軸受を介して連結体18を固定した偏心位置と同一の偏心位置に取り付けられており、タイミングプーリー13の回転と連動して接合部32の周囲を回転する。
反射鏡4は、出射ユニット3から出射されたレーザー光20を反射する部分であり、図1に示すように、タイミングプーリー13から回転軸方向の正面側に伸びたアーム22の先に取り付けられている。また、タイミングプーリー13の回転中心から見て、出射ユニット3が取り付けられた偏心位置と同一の偏心位置に配置されている。上記構成により、出射ユニット3と反射鏡4とが、タイミングプーリー13の回転中心から見て常に同じ偏心位置にある状態で、すなわち、出射ユニット3と反射鏡4とが同期をとって、接合部32の周囲を回転する。
反射鏡4が2枚以上配置される場合、2枚以上の反射鏡に反射されたレーザー光20が接合部へと照射される。
セット部5は、樹脂パイプ30及び樹脂部品31を固定する部分であり、図1に示すように、出射ユニット3及び反射鏡4の回転軸上、かつ、反射鏡4より正面側に配置されている。また、図2に示すように、セット部5は、樹脂パイプ30を固定するチャック33と、樹脂パイプ30と樹脂部品31との接合部32の中心位置を出射ユニット3の回転軸に合わせる芯合わせゲージ34と、を有する。チャック33は、樹脂パイプ30を樹脂部品31に圧入する方向に加圧できる構造を有している。
なお、出射ユニット3及び反射鏡4の回転数は、接合する樹脂パイプ30及び樹脂部品31の形状、大きさ及び材質等によって決定される。
なお、本実施形態に係るレーザー接合方法では、出射ユニット3を、接合部32の周囲を複数回転させながらレーザー光20を照射させているが、樹脂パイプ30及び樹脂部品31の材質や、レーザー光20の強度に応じて、1回転のみでもよい。
樹脂部品31の断面形状が円形である場合、出射ユニット3を、一定の回転速度で接合部32の周囲を回転させることで、接合部32全周のレーザー光20の照射時間は均一となり、溶着温度を均一に保つことができるため、接合部32全周の接合強度は均一に保たれる。一方で、樹脂部品31の断面形状が多角形である場合は、回転速度が一定であれば、接合部32全周のレーザー光20の照射時間は、多角形の各頂点付近と各辺上とで異なる。それにより、接合部32全周の接合強度も場所によって差異が生じる。
そこで、樹脂部品31の断面形状が多角形である場合、出射ユニット3の回転速度を制御するモーター12とすることで、例えば、多角形の頂点付近では回転速度を下げ、辺上では回転速度を上げることにより、接合部32全周のレーザー光20の照射時間を均一にでき、溶着温度を均一に保つことができるため、接合強度のばらつきを防止することができる。
本実施形態に係る駆動装置2では、出射ユニット3の回転は、タイミングベルト16を介したタイミングプーリー13の回転により行っていたが、替わりにギアによって行ってもよい。例えば、図5に示すように、駆動装置202は、モーター12と、ギア103及び104と、スプライン軸105と、を有している。この場合、モーター12によって生じる駆動力によりギア104は回転し、さらに、ギア104と噛み合うギア103が回転する。そして、ギア103の偏心位置に固定された出射ユニット3は、接合部32の周囲を回転する。この際、出射ユニット3は、スプライン軸105によって揺動されており、出射ユニット3は、その初期姿勢に対する傾きが所定の角度以内となるように、接合部32の周囲を回転する。このため、光ファイバー8のねじれは抑制され、ひいては、光ファイバー8の断線を防止することができる。
また、単に出射ユニット3が接合部32の周りを回転することによりレーザー溶着を行えるため、高額な装置等を用意する必要がなく、製造コストの削減につながる。
例えば、レーザー接合装置1は、モニターカメラ9が撮影した映像を映し出すモニタを備えていてもよい。
また、駆動装置2は、アイドラプーリー15を有していなくてもよい。また、駆動装置2は、ロボットアームやシリンダーであってもよく、出射ユニット3の接合部32の周囲の回転は、これらによって行われてもよい。
また、タイミングベルト16は、例えば、Vベルトや歯付ベルトなど、他のベルトでもよい。

Claims (8)
- レーザー光に対して吸収性を有する樹脂材料からなるパイプの外周面に、前記レーザー光に対して透過性を有する樹脂材料からなる部品の内周面を接合する、レーザー接合方法であって、
架台の正面側に配置されたセット部に前記パイプ及び前記部品を固定し、
前記架台の背面側に取り付けられるとともに、前記レーザー光を出射する出射ユニットが取り付けられたプーリー又はギアを回転させることで、前記出射ユニットを、前記セット部に固定された前記パイプと前記部品とが接合する接合部の周囲を回転させながら、前記接合部に前記レーザー光を照射することにより、前記パイプの外周面全周と前記部品の内周面全周とを溶着接合することを特徴とする、レーザー接合方法。 - 前記出射ユニットと同期をとって前記接合部の周囲を回転する反射鏡を介して、前記出射ユニットからの前記レーザー光を前記接合部へ照射することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のレーザー接合方法。
- 前記出射ユニットの初期姿勢を維持しながら、又は、前記出射ユニットの初期姿勢に対する傾きが所定の角度以内となるように、前記出射ユニットを、前記接合部の周囲を回転させることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載のレーザー接合方法。
- 前記出射ユニットの回転速度を制御しつつ、前記出射ユニットを、前記接合部の周囲を回転させることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3の何れかに記載のレーザー接合方法。
- レーザー光に対して吸収性を有する樹脂材料からなるパイプの外周面に、前記レーザー光に対して透過性を有する樹脂材料からなる部品の内周面を接合する、レーザー接合装置であって、
架台と、
前記架台の正面側に配置され、前記パイプ及び前記部品を固定するセット部と、
前記セット部に固定された前記パイプと前記部品とが接合する接合部に前記レーザー光を照射する出射ユニットと、
前記架台の背面側に取り付けられるとともに、前記出射ユニットが取り付けられたプーリー又はギアを有する、駆動装置と、を備え、
前記プーリー又はギアの回転により、前記出射ユニットが前記接合部の周囲を回転することを特徴とするレーザー接合装置。 - 前記出射ユニットと同期をとって前記接合部の周囲を回転し、前記レーザー光を反射して接合部へと照射する反射鏡を備えることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のレーザー接合装置。
- 前記出射ユニットは、初期姿勢を維持しながら、又は、初期姿勢に対する傾きが所定の角度以内となるように、前記接合部の周囲を回転することを特徴とする、請求項5又は6に記載のレーザー接合装置。
- 前記駆動装置は、前記出射ユニットの回転速度を制御するモーターを有することを特徴とする、請求項5〜7の何れかに記載のレーザー接合装置。
