特許文献1の被覆方法は、導電性の微粉末を練り込んだホットメルト系の接着剤が内面に塗布された架橋ポリエチレンの熱収縮チューブを周囲の被覆層を含むように接続部に巻設し、微粉末を加熱して接着剤を溶融させ、被覆用チューブを被覆層及び接続部に密着させるものである。この方法によれば、混入された導電性の微粉末により接着剤は均一に加熱溶融されるので被覆用チューブ接合部およびその周囲の被覆層に均一に密着され、優れた防食効果を得ることができるという利点がある。しかしながら、この方法では、被覆層と熱収縮チューブを接合している接着剤が地中の雰囲気のために腐食して隙間が生じ、その隙間から水分等が侵入するおそれがあった。さらに、導電性微粉末を練り込んだ接着剤が塗布された特殊な熱収縮チューブを用意する必要があるという問題があった。
レーザ照射手段11は、下方に向けてレーザ光Lを照射するレーザ照射部111と、レーザ光Lを伝達する光ファイバー113を介し前記レーザ照射部111に接続されレーザ光Lを励起して発信するレーザ発信部112とを具備している。レーザ照射部111には複数の光学レンズが組込まれており、該光学レンズは、光ファイバ113を通じて伝送されたレーザ光Lを集光し適宜な位置に焦点を結ばせる。使用するレーザ光Lは特に限定されないが、樹脂に照射した場合にレーザ吸収率の高い波長が1030nm前後のYAGレーザ、さらに好ましくは波長が940nmまたは808nm程度の半導体レーザを使用することが被覆層92と樹脂膜8を確実に接合するためには望ましい。
回転手段12は、樹脂被覆鋼管9の外周面を取り囲み周設される略円環状の案内部121と、樹脂被覆鋼管9の軸心廻りに回転する方向のみに摺動可能に案内部121に嵌着された支持部材123と、前記支持部材123に配設されるとともに前記案内部121に係合して支持部材123を樹脂被覆鋼管9の軸心廻りに回転させる回転駆動部122とから構成されている。なお、前記レーザ照射部111は、樹脂膜8の表面をレーザ光Lが照射できるようにレーザ光Lを照射する先端部が下方に向けられた状態で後述する水平駆動部124、焦点調整部125を介して支持部材123に取り付けられている。
押圧手段14について図4を参照し説明する。図4(a)は図4(c)において符号cで示すラインにおける断面図、図4(b)は図4(a)の右側面図、図4(c)は図4(a)において符号bで示した矢視図である。本態様の押圧手段14は、一対のローラ状の押圧部141と、押圧部141を加圧して被覆層92の表面に押圧する加圧部142とから構成され、図4(b)、(c)に示すように、レーザ照射部111から伸びた、平面視においてレーザ光Lが通過する部分が欠けている略コの字状の連結部材143の両椀にそれぞれ取り付けられている。
まず、図5(a)、(b)に示すように、レーザ照射部111が頂部に固定された上部案内部材121aを樹脂被覆鋼管9の上側に置き、次に樹脂被覆鋼管9の下方から下部案内部121bを上部案内部121aと接続し、被覆装置1を組み上げるとともに樹脂膜8と被覆層92の一方の接合予定部8aにレーザ光Lが照射されるように樹脂被覆鋼管9の軸心方向について被覆装置1の位置を調整し、被覆装置1を固定する。その後、焦点調整部125によりレーザ照射部111の高さを変えてレーザ光Lの焦点位置を調整する。

Claims (4)
- レーザ光吸収性を有する樹脂を主体とした被覆層で鋼管の端部以外の外周面が被覆された二以上の樹脂被覆鋼管の該端部を接続してなる接続部を包囲するように前記被覆層の外周面にレーザ光透過性を有する樹脂膜を接合し該接続部を被覆する被覆装置において、一方向にレーザ光を照射するレーザ照射部を備えたレーザ照射手段と、
前記樹脂膜の表面を前記レーザ光が照射可能な状態で前記レーザ照射部を前記樹脂被覆鋼管の軸心廻りに回転させる回転手段と、
前記樹脂膜の表面において前記レーザ光が投影されてなる照射領域に含まれる前記樹脂膜を前記被覆層に対し所定の力で押圧する押圧手段とを有し、
前記押圧手段は前記レーザ光の非照射領域において前記樹脂膜に当接するように配設された押圧部と前記樹脂膜の表面に対し該押圧部を加圧する加圧部とを有して前記レーザ照射部と同期して移動し、
前記押圧部は前記加圧部と接続して前記レーザ照射部の回転方向に沿う前記レーザ照射部前後の位置に相対するよう一対にして配設される樹脂被覆鋼管の接続部の被覆装置。 - 前記レーザ照射部を前記樹脂被覆鋼管の軸心の方向に沿い移動させる水平駆動部を備える請求項1に記載の樹脂被覆鋼管の接続部の被覆装置。
- 前記押圧部は、前記樹脂膜の表面に当接する略円柱形状の胴体と回転軸とを有するローラと前記回転軸を回転可能に軸支するハウジングとを備える請求項1に記載の樹脂被覆鋼管の接続部の被覆装置。
- レーザ吸収性を有する樹脂を主体とした被覆層で鋼管の端部以外の外周面が被覆された二以上の樹脂被覆鋼管の該端部を接続してなる接続部包囲するように前記被覆層の外周面に樹脂膜を接合し該接続部を被覆する被覆方法において、
被覆層と樹脂膜の接合予定部に対し樹脂被覆鋼管の軸心廻りの方向にレーザ光を走査しながら照射するとともに前記レーザ光が照射されている領域の前記走査方向前後の樹脂膜を所定の力で被覆層に押圧しながら前記レーザ光が照射されている領域の樹脂膜と被覆層を密着させた状態で接合する樹脂被覆鋼管の接続部の被覆方法。
