Description
図1は、本発明の一実施形態の電気光学装置のシリコンバックプレーン2の構成を示す図である。図1に示すように、シリコンバックプレーン2には、表示部10、第1接続部20A、第2接続部20B、第1回路領域30A,第2回路領域30B、第1走査線駆動回路40Aおよび第2走査線駆動回路40Bが設けられている。
同様に、第2接続部20Bには、アンプ部54Bに含まれる324個のアンプの各々に1本ずつ接続された324本の配線24と、走査線方向に並んだ画素回路の半分の各々に対応する2880本のデータ線の各々と上記324本の配線24との接続を切り替えるスイッチ22と、が含まれている。走査線方向に並んだ画素回路の半分とは、例えば、発光色が青の画素回路の残り半分と発光色が緑の画素回路である。前述したように第1データ線駆動回路32Aのレイアウトと第2データ線駆動回路32Bのレイアウトは線対称である。このため、図3に示すように、アンプ部54Aのレイアウトとアンプ部54Bのレイアウトも線対称である。一方、図3に示すように、第1接続部20Aにおける各スイッチの配置および各スイッチからの配線の引き出し方と第2接続部20Bにおける各スイッチの配置および各スイッチからの配線の引き出し方とは互いに線対称ではない。つまり、第1接続部20Aのレイアウトと第2接続部20Bのレイアウトは、表示部10を挟んで互いに線対称ではなく、非線対称である。第1接続部20Aのレイアウトと第2接続部20Bのレイアウトを非線対称とした理由は次の通りである。
以上本発明の一実施形態について説明したが、この実施形態に以下の変形を加えてもよい。すなわち、上記実施形態では、第1回路領域30Aと第2回路領域30Bを互いに線対称なレイアウトとしたが、少なくとも第1データ線駆動回路32Aと第2データ線駆動回路32Bとが互いに線対称なレイアウトを有していればよい。前述したように、第1データ線駆動回路32Aに動作電圧を供給する第1電源(すなわち、第1回路領域30Aに配置される内蔵電源)と、第2データ線駆動回路32Bに動作電圧を供給する第2電源(すなわち、第2回路領域30Bに配置される内蔵電源)とを点対称に配置すると表示ムラが発生し易くなると考えられる。しかし、このような表示ムラの低減よりも、FPCの作成工数の削減が優先される場合には第1電源と第2電源を点対称に配置してもよい。また、上記実施形態ではOLEDを用いた電気光学装置への適用例を説明したが、液晶を用いた電気光学装置に本発明を適用してもよい。
上述した実施形態に係る電気光学装置は、各種の電子機器に適用することができ、特に2K2K以上の高精細な画像の表示を要求され、かつ小型であることを要求される電子機器に好適である。以下、本発明に係る電子機器について説明する。
Claims (5)
- 第1データ線と接続される第1画素回路と、第2データ線と接続される第2画素回路と、第3データ線と接続される第3画素回路と、第4データ線と接続される第4画素回路とが設けられる表示部と、
前記第1データ線および前記第2データ線に表示階調に応じた階調信号を供給する第1データ線駆動回路と、
前記第3データ線および前記第4データ線に表示階調に応じた階調信号を供給する第2データ線駆動回路と、
前記第1データ線および前記第2データ線と前記第1データ線駆動回路とを接続する第1接続部と、
前記第3データ線および前記第4データ線と前記第2データ線駆動回路とを接続する第2接続部と、を備え、
前記第1データ線駆動回路と前記第2データ線駆動回路とは、前記第1データ線の配線方向に前記表示部を挟んで配置され、前記第1データ線駆動回路を構成するトランジスターの配置と前記第2データ線駆動回路を構成するトランジスターの配置が互いに線対称であり、かつ、前記第1データ線駆動回路における配線と前記第2データ線駆動回路における配線が互いに線対称であり、
前記第1接続部のレイアウトと前記第2接続部のレイアウトとは非線対称である、
電気光学装置。 - 前記第1データ線駆動回路に動作電圧を供給する第1電源と、
前記第2データ線駆動回路に動作電圧を供給する第2電源と、を備え、
前記第1電源と前記第2電源とは、前記第1データ線の配線方向に前記表示部を挟んで配置され、前記第1電源のレイアウトと前記第2電源のレイアウトとは線対称である、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。 - 第1データ線と接続される第1画素回路と、第2データ線と接続される第2画素回路と、第3データ線と接続される第3画素回路と、第4データ線と接続される第4画素回路とが設けられる表示部と、
前記第1データ線および前記第2データ線に表示階調に応じた階調信号を供給する第1データ線駆動回路を少なくとも含む第1回路領域と、
前記第3データ線および前記第4データ線に表示階調に応じた階調信号を供給する第2データ線駆動回路を少なくとも含む第2回路領域と、
前記第1データ線および前記第2データ線と前記第1データ線駆動回路とを接続する第1接続部と、
前記第3データ線および前記第4データ線と前記第2データ線駆動回路とを接続する第2接続部と、を備え、
前記第1回路領域と前記第2回路領域とは、前記第1データ線の配線方向に前記表示部を挟んで配置され、前記第1データ線駆動回路を構成するトランジスターの配置と前記第2データ線駆動回路を構成するトランジスターの配置が互いに線対称であり、かつ、前記第1データ線駆動回路における配線と前記第2データ線駆動回路における配線が互いに線対称であり、前記第1データ線駆動回路のレイアウトと前記第2データ線駆動回路のレイアウトとは互いに線対称であり、
前記第1接続部のレイアウトと前記第2接続部のレイアウトとは非線対称である、
電気光学装置。 - 前記第1回路領域のレイアウトと前記第2回路領域のレイアウトとは線対称である
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の電気光学装置。 - 請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載の電気光学装置、を備える電子機器。
