Description

図1は、概略的なブロック形態における、代表的な医療用装置及び/又は外科用器具(10)の構成要素を示す。図示されるように、医療用装置(10)は、制御モジュール(12)、電源(14)、エンドエフェクタ(16)を備える。単に例示的な電源(14)には、NiMH電池、Liイオン電池(例えば、プリズムセル式リチウムイオン電池、等)、Ni−カドミ電池、又は本明細書の教示を考慮すれば当業者には明らかであると思われる任意の他のタイプの電源を含んでもよい。制御モジュール(12)は、マイクロプロセッサ、特定用途向け集積回路(ASIC)、メモリ、プリント回路基板(PCB)、記憶装置(例えば、ソリッドステートドライブ若しくはハードディスク)、ファームウェア、ソフトウェア、又は本明細書の教示を考慮すれば当業者には明らかであると思われる他の適切な任意の他の好適な制御モジュール部品を含んでもよい。制御モジュール(12)及び電源(14)は、回路基板等において、ケーブル及び/又はプリントパターン等の電気的接続(22)によって連結されて、電力を電源(14)から制御モジュール(12)へ運搬する。代替的に、電源(14)は、制御モジュール(12)に選択的に連結されてもよい。このことによって、電源(14)を医療用装置(10)から切り離し、かつ取り外すことが可能となり、そのことによって、例えば、本明細書の様々な教示に従って、再滅菌及び再使用を行うため電源(14)を容易に再充電又は再利用することが更に可能となる。加えて又は代替的に、制御モジュール(12)は、アフターサービス、試験、交換、又は本明細書の教示を考慮すれば当業者には明らかであると思われる他のあらゆる目的のために取り外されることが可能である。
いくつかの例において、医療用装置(10、100)に、及び/又はこれから無線上方通信を提供することが望ましい場合がある。例えば、このような情報は、医療用装置(10、100)の特徴、医療用装置(10、100)の動作、医療用装置(10、100)の外科的環境、及び/又は他の情報に関連し得る。このような情報は保存されてもよく、及び/又はユーザーがリアルタイムでフィードバックを受け取れるように、医療用装置(10、100)のユーザーに提示されてもよい。このワイヤレス通信が提供され、実施され得る様々な代表的な方法は、以下でより詳細に記載されが、本明細書における教示を考慮して、追加的な実施例が、当業者には明らかとなる。以下の教示は、医療用装置(10、100)、及び本明細書において引用される様々な参照文献において教示される器具を容易に組み込まれることが理解されるべきである。
図4は、ハンドルアセンブリ(410)、及び例えば、エンドエフェクタを備える伝達アセンブリを含み得る作業端部(420)を有する、代表的な外科用器具(400)を表す。外科用器具(400)は、制御ユニット(480)及びメモリユニット(430)を更に含む。外科用器具(400)は、外科用器具/医療用装置(10、100)に関する教示にしたがって、又はこれと同様に構成され得ることが理解される。
図5は、ハンドルアセンブリ(510)、及び例えば、エンドエフェクタを備える伝達アセンブリを含み得る作業端部(520)を有する、代表的な外科用器具(500)を表す。医療用装置、及び/又は外科用器具(10、100)と同様に、又はこれに従って構成され得る、外科用器具(500)は更に、外部制御装置(540)とワイヤレスで通信する、制御ユニット(580)、及び通信装置(530)を含む。図6は、外部制御装置(540)が取り得る、1つの単に代表的な形態を示す。特に、図6は、本体(642)、アンテナ(644)、及びペダル(646)を有する、フットスイッチを含む、外部制御装置(640)を示す。アンテナ(644)は、通信装置(530)に信号を送信するように動作可能である。本体(642)は、外部制御装置(640)のための安定なハウジングを含み、これは全体的な外部制御装置(640)に不安定性を生じることなく、ペダル(646)が押圧され得るように、加重されたボタンを含み得る。ペダル(646)の起動は、外部制御装置(640)から外科用器具(500)へと命令信号を送信するように動作可能である。例えば、本明細書における教示を考慮し、当業者にとって明らかとなるように、押圧ペダル(646)は、電力レベル、速度、オン/オフ状態、又は外科用器具(500)の他の任意の属性を変更してもよい。図7は、外部制御装置(540)が取り得る、更に別の代表的な形態を示す。特に、図7は、ユーザー制御装置(748)、及び電源レベルメーター(746)を備える、本体(742)を有する外部制御装置(740)を表す。図6に示される代表的な変化形態におけるように、外部制御装置(740)は、アンテナ(744)を介して外科用器具(500)に命令を送信するように動作可能である。加えて、図7のアンテナ(744)は、外科用器具(500)の電力使用に関する情報を含み得る信号を受信するように動作可能である。ユーザー制御装置(748)は、外科用器具(500)に伝達される命令を決定するように動作可能なLCDスクリーンのハードウェアボタン又はソフトキーを含む場合がある。例えば、ユーザー制御装置(748)は、外科用器具(500)の電力レベルを設定するように動作可能であり得る。更に他の変化形態において、ユーザー制御(748)は、外科用器具(500)の動作モードを設定するように動作可能であり、これには切断モードと凝固モードとの間での選択が含まれる。本実施例の電源レベルメーター(746)は、外科用器具(500)の特定の電力レベルに対応する一連の数値インジケータを含み、これはユーザーに外科用器具(500)の現在の電力レベルを知らせるように動作可能である。本実施例は、電力レベルメーター(746)に数値インジケータを使用するが、本明細書における教示を考慮し、当業者にとって明らかとなるように、任意の好適なインジケータが使用され得ることが認識される。例えば、電力レベルメーター(746)は、棒状メーター、円形メーター、又は他の任意好適なインジケータを含み得る。
図8〜10は、外科用器具(800)及び腹腔鏡モニター(820)と共に使用するための、代表的な充電器ユニット(810)を表す。本実施例において、充電器ユニット(810)は、本体(822)、クランプ部分(814)、プラグ(812)、ディスプレイ(816)、及び通信モジュール(818)を含む。図9において、本体(822)の前方から見ることができる、本体(822)は、矩形の形状を有するが、本明細書における教示を考慮し、当業者にとって明らかとなるように、本体(822)の任意の好適な形状が使用され得ることが認識される。本体(822)の側面図により図10に示されるクランプ部分(814)は、クランプ部分(814)が腹腔鏡モニター(820)を把持するように動作可能であるように、互いに対して付勢された一対のジョーを含む。本明細書における教示を考慮し、当業者にとって明らかとなるように、クランプ部分(814)は、任意の好適な表面又は部材を把持するように動作可能であり得る。プラグ(812)は、充電器ユニット(810)を壁コンセントに接続し、充電器ユニット(810)内に収容される、再充電可能な電池を充電するためにコンセントから電流を引くように動作可能である。本実施例において、プラグ(812)は、本体(822)内に形成された陥没部内へと折り曲がるように動作可能である。しかしながら、プラグ(812)は、内側に折れ曲がることができずに、固定される場合もあることが認識される。
図11〜13は、再充電可能な電池(924)を保持するように動作可能な電池区画(926)を備える、ハンドルアセンブリ(928)を有する、代表的な外科用器具(900)を示す。外科用器具(900)は、医療用装置(10、100)に関する上記の教示、及び/又は本明細書において引用される参照文献のいずれかの教示にしたがって、構成され得ることが理解される。図11は、外科手術において使用され、かつ充電ステーション(910)と通信する、外科用器具(900)を示す。充電ステーション(910)は、再充電容器(912)、発生器(932)、及びプラットフォーム(934)を含む。本実施例において、再充電区画(912)は、発生器(932)の上に位置するが、任意の好適な構成が使用され得る。例えば、再充電容器(912)は、発生器(932)の横に、発生器(932)の下に配置され得るか、又は発生器(932)と共に単一のハウジング内に組み込まれてもよい。他の好適な構成が本明細書の教示を考慮して、当業者に明らかとなる。
(1) 装置であって、
(a)ハンドルアセンブリを含む、電動外科用器具と、
(b)前記ハンドルアセンブリ内に位置付けられた通信装置であって、前記通信装置は、前記電動外科用器具の少なくとも一部と通信するように構成された、通信装置と、
(c)外部装置であって、前記通信装置は、前記外部装置にワイヤレスで情報を送信するように構成され、前記外部装置は、前記通信装置からの情報を受信及び処理するように構成され、前記外部装置はユーザーにより観察可能な出力を提供するように構成された、外部装置とを含む、装置。
(2) 前記外部装置に送信された前記情報が、前記外科用器具に関するID情報を含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(3) 前記外部装置に送信された前記情報が、前記外科用器具に関する状態情報を含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(4) 前記外部装置は、前記通信装置に情報を送信するように更に構成された、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(5) 前記外部装置は、前記通信装置に更新されたソフトウェアを送信するように構成された、実施態様4に記載の装置。
(7) 前記外部装置は、前記電動外科用器具の機能性を修正するように動作可能である命令を、前記通信装置に送信するように構成された、実施態様4に記載の装置。
(8) 前記通信装置、及び前記外部装置は、RF通信により通信している、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(9) 前記ハンドルアセンブリは、取り外し可能なメモリユニットを含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(10) 前記外部装置は、再充電可能な電池を保持するように動作可能な充電器ユニットを含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(12) 前記充電器ユニットは、前記外科用器具に関連する情報を表示するように動作可能なLCDディスプレイを含む、実施態様11に記載の装置。
(13) 前記外部装置は、前記外科用器具を制御するように動作可能なフットペダルを含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(14) 前記外部装置は、前記外科用器具の電力レベルを示すように動作可能な電力メーターを表示するように構成された、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(15) 前記外部装置は、充電ステーションを含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(a)電動外科用器具と、
(b)前記電動外科用器具内に位置付けられた通信装置と、
(c)少なくとも1つの再充電可能な電池を保持するように動作可能な外部装置であって、前記外部装置は前記通信装置と通信し、前記外部装置は、前記通信装置から受信される、前記電動外科用器具に関連する情報を表示するように構成され、前記外部装置は、前記少なくとも1つの再充電可能な電池を再充電するように構成された、外部装置とを含む、装置。
(17) 前記外部装置は、前記少なくとも1つの再充電可能な電池の充電状態を示すように動作可能な視覚的インジケータを含む、実施態様16に記載の装置。
(18) 前記少なくとも1つの再充電可能な電池と通信するメモリユニットを更に含み、前記メモリユニットは、前記外部装置に情報を送信し、前記外部装置から情報を受信するように動作可能である、実施態様16に記載の装置。
(19) 前記外部装置は、前記通信装置とワイヤレスで通信するように構成された、実施態様16に記載の装置。
(20) 電動外科用器具、前記外科用器具内に収容される通信装置、及び前記通信装置とワイヤレスで通信する外部装置を使用して、外科手術中にユーザーに情報を提供する方法であって、前記方法は、
(a)外科手術中に前記外科用器具を使用することと、
(b)前記外科用器具から前記通信装置に情報を送信することと、
(c)前記通信装置から前記外部装置にワイヤレスで情報を送信することと、
(d)前記外部装置で前記ユーザーに対して情報を表示することとを含む、方法。
Claims (19)
- 装置であって、
(a)ハンドルアセンブリを含む、電動外科用器具と、
(b)前記ハンドルアセンブリ内に位置付けられた通信装置であって、前記通信装置は、前記電動外科用器具の少なくとも一部と通信するように構成された、通信装置と、
(c)外部装置であって、前記通信装置は、前記外部装置にワイヤレスで情報を送信するように構成され、前記外部装置は、前記通信装置からの情報を受信及び処理するように構成され、前記外部装置はユーザーにより観察可能な出力を提供するように構成された、外部装置と、
を含み、
前記外部装置は、充電器ユニットを含み、
前記充電器ユニットは、
本体とクランプ部分を有するクランプであって、前記クランプ部分および前記本体がそれらの間に物を把持するように構成されている、クランプと、
前記本体に取り付けられたディスプレイと、

- 前記通信装置、及び前記外部装置は、RF通信により通信している、請求項1に記載の装置。
