Description

図1は、例示的な医療用装置(10)の構成要素を概略的ブロックフォームで示す。図示されるように、医療用装置(10)は、制御モジュール(12)、電源(14)、エンドエフェクタ(16)を備える。単に例示的な電源(14)には、NiMH電池、Liイオン電池(例えば、プリズムセル式リチウムイオン電池、等)、Ni−カドミ電池、又は本明細書の教示を考慮すれば当業者には明らかであると思われる任意の他のタイプの電源を含んでもよい。制御モジュール(12)は、マイクロプロセッサー、特定用途向け集積回路(ASIC)、メモリー、プリント回路基板(PCB)、記憶装置(例えば、ソリッドステートドライブ若しくはハードディスク)、ファームウェア、ソフトウェア、又は本明細書の教示を考慮すれば当業者には明らかであると思われる他の適切な任意の他の好適な制御モジュール部品を含んでもよい。制御モジュール(12)及び電源(14)は、回路基板等において、ケーブル及び/又はプリントパターン等の電気的接続(22)によって連結されて、電力を電源(14)から制御モジュール(12)へ運搬する。代替的に、電源(14)は、制御モジュール(12)に選択的に連結されてもよい。このことによって、電源(14)を医療用装置(10)から切り離し、かつ取り外すことが可能となり、そのことによって、例えば、本明細書の様々な教示に従って、再滅菌及び再使用を行うため電源(14)を容易に再充電又は再利用することが更に可能となる。加えて又は代替的に、制御モジュール(12)は、アフターサービス、試験、交換、又は本明細書の教示を考慮すれば当業者には明らかであると思われる他のあらゆる目的のために取り外されることが可能である。
場合によっては、外科用器具(50)は、外科用器具(50)を壁コンセント又は他の外部電源に差し込むよりもむしろ、外科用器具(50)に給電するために、内部電源が使用される、テザーレスモードにおいて、動作可能であり得るということが理解されるであろう。外科用器具(50)がコンセントに差し込まれる場合でさえも、内部電源が、外部提供される電力を補うために、依然として使用され得るということもまた、理解されるであろう。内部電源は、外科用器具(50)内の回路又は他の電子機器構成要素に単純に接続することによって、電力を損失する、又は充電することができるということが、更に理解されるであろう。このため、外科手術における外科用器具(50)の実際の使用の前に、内部電源が回路又は他の電子機器に接続されるのを阻止することが望ましい場合があるということが理解されるであろう。以下で記載される種々の実施例は、手技における外科用器具の使用前に、電源が回路に接続される時間を低減する特性を含む。以下の教示は、上に記載される種々の医療用装置(10、100)に容易に組み込むことができるということが理解されるべきである。
(1) 外科用器具であって、
(a)制御ユニット及び統合電源を備える、本体であって、前記電源が、前記制御ユニットに電力を選択的に送達するように構成される、本体と、
(b)前記本体から遠位に延在する伝送アセンブリであって、前記制御ユニットによって駆動されるエンドエフェクタを含む、伝送アセンブリと、
(c)前記制御ユニットと通信するスイッチであって、前記スイッチが、前記電源と更に通信し、前記スイッチが、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへの電力の送達を開始するように、前記伝送アセンブリによって起動されるように構成される、スイッチと、を備える、外科用器具。
(2) 前記伝送アセンブリと通信する磁石を更に備え、前記磁石が、前記スイッチをトリガーするように構成される、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(3) 前記スイッチが、リードスイッチを備える、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(4) 前記制御ユニットが能動的に使用されているかどうかを判定するように動作可能なタイムアウトタイマを更に備える、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(5) 前記スイッチが、機械的に起動されるスイッチを備える、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(7) 前記伝送アセンブリが、前記スイッチを起動するように回転されるように構成される、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(8) ユーザによって起動可能であるように構成されるトリガーを更に備え、前記トリガーが、前記スイッチを起動するように構成される、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(9) 前記伝送アセンブリが、前記スイッチを起動するように、前記本体の遠位開口を通って挿入されるように構成される、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(10) 前記スイッチを起動するように動作可能なワンドを更に備える、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(12) 前記本体に統合されるボタンを更に備え、前記ボタンが、前記スイッチをトリガーするように構成される、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(13) 前記制御ユニット内に開回路を創出するように構成されるプルタブを更に備える、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(14) 前記プルタブが、パッケージングに統合され、前記本体が、前記パッケージング内に着座する、実施態様13に記載の器具。
(15) 前記制御ユニットへの連続的な電力の送達を選択的に供給するように動作可能な2次的スイッチを更に備える、実施態様1に記載の器具。
(a)外科用器具であって、前記外科用器具内に含有される電源によって給電されるように動作可能であり、電気的に給電される外科的手技を実施するように動作可能である、外科用器具と、
(b)前記外科用器具と通信する、制御ユニットであって、前記電源から電力を受容するように構成される、制御ユニットと、
(c)起動された状態及び起動されていない状態を有するスイッチであって、前記外科用器具の少なくとも一部分が、前記スイッチを起動するように構成され、前記起動された状態にある時、前記スイッチが、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへの電力の送達を開始するように構成され、前記起動されていない状態にある時、前記スイッチが、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへの前記電力の送達を完全に停止するように構成される、スイッチと、を備える、装置。
(17) 前記スイッチを起動するように構成される磁石を更に備える、実施態様16に記載の装置。
(18) 前記本体に統合されるボタンを更に備え、前記ボタンが、前記スイッチをトリガーするように構成され、前記ボタンが、パッケージを通じて起動されるように構成される、実施態様16に記載の装置。
(19) 前記スイッチを起動するように構成されるワンドを更に備える、実施態様16に記載の装置。
(20) 外科用装置内に含有される電源を使用して、前記外科用装置に電力を送達する方法であって、前記外科用装置が、ハンドルアセンブリと、伝送アセンブリと、スイッチと、制御ユニットと、を備え、前記スイッチが、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへの電力の送達を制御するように構成され、前記方法が、
(a)前記伝送アセンブリを前記ハンドルアセンブリに接続することと、
(b)前記伝送アセンブリで前記スイッチを起動することと、
(c)前記電源と前記制御ユニットとの間の電気通信を確立することと、
(d)前記外科用装置に給電するように、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへ電力を送達することと、を含む、方法。
Claims (5)
- 外科用器具であって、
(a)制御ユニット及び電源を備える、本体であって、前記電源が、前記制御ユニットに電力を選択的に送達するように構成される、本体と、
(b)前記本体から遠位に延在する伝送アセンブリであって、前記制御ユニットによって駆動されるエンドエフェクタを含む、伝送アセンブリと、
(c)前記制御ユニットと通信するスイッチであって、前記スイッチが、前記電源と更に通信し、前記スイッチが、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへの電力の送達を開始するように、前記伝送アセンブリによって起動されるように構成される、スイッチと、を備え、
前記伝送アセンブリの近位端に位置付けられている磁石を更に備え、前記磁石が、前記スイッチをトリガーするように構成され、
前記制御ユニットが作動しているかどうかを検出するように動作可能なタイムアウトタイマを更に備え、
前記制御ユニットの作動が所定期間、検出されない場合、前記タイムアウトタイマは前記制御ユニットをシャットダウンするように動作し、それにより、前記電源からの電力の引き出しが阻止され、
前記伝送アセンブリは、前記本体から離間している際に、前記本体の遠位開口を通って前記本体に挿入されることができ、
前記伝送アセンブリは、前記本体の遠位開口を通って前記本体に挿入され、且つ、前記伝送アセンブリが前記本体内で回転した際に、前記伝送アセンブリに備えられた前記磁石が、前記スイッチと整合して、前記スイッチが起動され、
前記磁石が前記スイッチと整合したことを示す機械的なスナップ部または可聴インジケータが、更に備えられている、外科用器具。 - 前記スイッチが、リードスイッチを備える、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 前記スイッチが、機械的に起動されるスイッチを備える、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 前記スイッチが、光学的に起動されるスイッチを備える、請求項1に記載の器具。
- 外科用装置内に含有される電源を使用して、前記外科用装置に電力を送達し、外科的手技において前記外科用装置を使用する前に前記外科用装置の作業状態を実証する方法であって、前記外科用装置が、ハンドルアセンブリと、伝送アセンブリと、スイッチと、制御ユニットと、を備え、前記スイッチが、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへの電力の送達を制御するように構成され、前記方法が、
(a)前記伝送アセンブリを前記ハンドルアセンブリに接続することと、
(b)前記伝送アセンブリで前記スイッチを起動することと、
(c)前記電源と前記制御ユニットとの間の電気通信を確立することと、
(d)前記外科用装置に給電するように、前記電源から前記制御ユニットへ電力を送達し、前記外科用装置の作業状態を実証することと、を含み、
前記外科用装置が、前記伝送アセンブリの近位端に位置付けられている磁石を更に備え、前記磁石が、前記スイッチをトリガーするように構成され、
前記外科用装置が、前記制御ユニットが作動しているかどうかを検出するように動作可能なタイムアウトタイマを更に備え、
前記制御ユニットの作動が所定期間、検出されない場合、前記タイムアウトタイマは前記制御ユニットをシャットダウンするように動作し、それにより、前記電源からの電力の引き出しが阻止され、
前記伝送アセンブリは、前記外科用装置から離間している際に、前記外科用装置の遠位開口を通って前記外科用装置に挿入されることができ、
前記伝送アセンブリは、前記外科用装置の遠位開口を通って前記外科用装置に挿入され、且つ、前記伝送アセンブリが前記外科用装置内で回転した際に、前記伝送アセンブリに備えられた前記磁石が、前記スイッチと整合して、前記スイッチが起動され、
前記磁石が前記スイッチと整合したことを示す機械的なスナップ部または可聴インジケータが、前記外科用装置に更に備えられている、方法。
