Description
図4の(a)は、中央の圧力室15bと、この圧力室15bに隣接する両隣の圧力室15a,15cとの各壁面にそれぞれ配設された電極4の電位がいずれもグラウンド電位GNDである状態を示している。この状態では、圧力室15aと圧力室15bとで挟まれた隔壁16a及び圧力室15bと圧力室15cとで挟まれた隔壁16bは、いずれも何ら歪み作用を受けない。
図13は、駆動電流の測定回路を示す。前述したように、ヘッド100は、ヘッド駆動回路101とチャネル群102とからなる。このようなヘッド100に使用する電源は、論理回路用の電源VDDと、アナログ回路用の電源Vccと、ヘッド駆動用の電源+V,−V,GNDとなる。
例えば前記実施形態では、プリカーサ微振動時にアクチュエータに生じる電界をインク吐出時にアクチュエータに生じる電界の1/2としたが、電界の大きさは1/2に限定されるものではない。プリカーサ微振動時にアクチュエータに生じる電界が、インク吐出時にアクチュエータに生じる電界よりも小さければ、消費電力削減の効果を奏し得るので、適用可能である。
Claims (5)
- インクが充填される圧力室と、
前記圧力室に連通するノズルと、
前記圧力室内の容積を変化させて当該圧力室に連通する前記ノズルからインクドロップを吐出させるアクチュエータと、
インクドロップの吐出時には、前記圧力室内の容積を拡張させる拡張パルスと収縮させる収縮パルスとを含む駆動信号を出力し、インクを微振動させるプリカーサ微振動時には、前記ノズルからインクドロップが吐出しない程度に前記圧力室の容積を変化させるプリカーサ信号を出力する駆動回路と、
を具備し、
前記駆動回路は、前記駆動信号により前記アクチュエータに生じる電界よりも、前記プリカーサ信号により前記アクチュエータに生じる電界の方が小さくなるように、3つの隣り合うノズルに対して前記拡張パルス又は前記収縮パルスと同電位の電圧を印加し、続いて前記3つの隣り合うノズルのうち中央のノズルに印加される電圧を先にグラウンド電位に戻し、その後、遅れて両隣のノズルに印加される電圧をグラウンド電位に戻すようにして、前記プリカーサ信号を出力するインクジェットヘッド。 - 前記駆動回路は、前記駆動信号により前記アクチュエータに生じる電界に対して、前記プリカーサ信号により前記アクチュエータに生じる電界が半分となるように前記プリカーサ信号を出力する、請求項1記載のインクジェットヘッド。
- 前記駆動回路は、階調印刷の最大ドロップ数をNとしたとき、n(n<N)ドロップを吐出させる駆動信号の後に、(N−n)回のプリカーサ微振動を実行させるプリカーサ信号を出力する、請求項1または2に記載のインクジェットヘッド。
- 前記駆動回路は、前記インクドロップを吐出させないときには、前記最大ドロップ数N回のプリカーサ微振動を実行させるプリカーサ信号を出力する、請求項3に記載のインクジェットヘッド。
- 請求項1乃至4のうちいずれか1に記載のインクジェットヘッドと、
インクタンク内のインクを前記インクジェットヘッドに供給するポンプと、
を具備するインクジェットプリンタ。
