Description
粒子含有層は、例えば、バインダー、第1及び第2粒子などを含むコーティング液を用いた湿式コーティング(wet coating)方式や、ゾールゲル方式などを介して形成することができる。
有機電子素子用基板の製造
屈折率が約1.51程度であるポリシロキサンバインダーを形成する前驅物質であって、縮合性シランであるテトラメトキシシランに第1粒子として屈折率が約2.7程度であり、平均粒径が約200nm程度である酸化チタン(TiO2)粒子及び第2粒子として前記ポリシロキサンバインダーとの屈折率差が約0.1であり、平均粒径が約110nm程度である粒子(コアがAl2O3であり、シェルがSiO2であるコア/シェル構造の粒子)を配合して粒子含有層を形成するコーティング液を製造した。前記コーティング液で第1粒子はテトラメトキシシラン100重量部に対して約300重量部程度の割合で混合し、第2粒子は前記テトラメトキシシラン100重量部に対して約600重量部程度の割合で混合した。その後、ガラス基板上に前記製造したコーティング液をコーティングし、約80°Cで2分程度縮合反応させて粒子含有層を形成させた。続いて、縮合性シランであるテトラメトキシシランに平均粒径が約20nmで、550nmの波長の光に対する屈折率が約2.5程度である酸化チタン(TiO2)粒子を配合し、上記をエタノールとメチルイソブチルケトンの混合溶媒に分散させたコーティング液を前記粒子含有層上にスロットダイにコーティングした後に80°Cで2分程度縮合反応させて550nmの光に対する屈折率が約1.8程度であるオーバーコート層を形成した。その後に、公知のスパッタリング方式でITO(Indium Tin Oxide)を含む正孔注入性電極層を前記ガラス基板の全面に形成して基板を製造した。
製造された基板の電極層上に、蒸着方式によりアルファ−NPD(N、N'−Di−[(1−naphthyl)−N、N'−diphenyl]−1、1'−biphenyl)−4、4'−diamine)を含む正孔注入層及び発光層(4、4'、4'−tris(N−carbazolyl)−triphenylamine(TCTA):Firpic、TCTA:Fir6)を順次形成した。続いて、前記発光層の上部に電子輸送性化合物であるTCTA(4、4'、4'−tris(N−carbazolyl)−triphenylamine)を蒸着して電子注入層を約70nmの厚さで形成した。続いて、電子注入性反射電極として、アルミニウム(Al)電極を真空蒸着方式で前記電子注入層の上部に形成して素子を製造した。続いて、Arガス雰囲気のグローブボックスで前記素子に封止構造を付着して装置を製造した。
有機電子素子用基板の製造
下記化学式3の化合物(3、3'−sulfonyldianiline)及び下記化学式4の化合物(3、3'、4、4'−bipheynyltetracarboxylic dianhydride)を用いて公知のポリアミック酸(poly(amic acid))の合成方式で合成したポリアミック酸として屈折率が約1.7〜1.8程度であるポリアミック酸をバインダーとして用いた。前記バインダーに第1粒子として屈折率が約2.6程度であり、平均粒径が約200nm程度である酸化チタン(TiO2)粒子及び第2粒子として前記ポリアミック酸バインダーとの屈折率差が約0.1であり、平均粒径が約80nm程度であるAl2O3粒子を配合して粒子含有層を形成することができるコーティング液を製造した。前記コーティング液において、第1粒子はポリアミック酸100重量部に対して約50重量部程度の割合で混合し、第2粒子は前記ポリアミック酸100重量部に対して約100重量部程度の割合で混合した。製造されたコーティング液をガラス基板にコーティング及び乾燥して厚さが約600nm程度である粒子含有層を形成した。続いて、実施例1と同じ方式で前記粒子含有層上にオーバーコート層と正孔注入性電極層を順次形成して有機電子素子用基板を製造した。
前記製造された基板を用いること以外は実施例1と同じ方式で装置を製造した。
ガラス基板上に粒子含油層とオーバーコート層を形成せず、直接実施例1と同じ方式で正孔注入性電極層、発光層、電子注入層及び電子注入性反射電極を形成して装置を製造した。

Claims (13)
- 基材層と、
該基材層上に存在し、平均粒径が100nm以上の光散乱性の第1粒子及び30〜500nmの範囲で前記第1粒子よりも小さい平均粒径を有し前記第1粒子より屈折率の小さい第2粒子を含む粒子含有層と、
前記粒子含有層の上部に形成され、屈折率が1.5〜3.5であるオーバーコート層と、
を含む、
有機電子素子用基板。 - 前記粒子含有層は、屈折率が1.4以上のバインダーをさらに含む請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記バインダーは、ポリシロキサン、ポリアミック酸またはポリイミドである請求項2に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記第1粒子は、前記バインダーとの屈折率差が0.4を超え、
前記第2粒子は、前記バインダーとの屈折率差が0.4以下である請求項2または3に記載の有機電子素子用基板。 - 前記第1粒子は、前記バインダー100重量部に対して10〜2、000重量部の割合で粒子含有層に含まれる請求項2から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記第2粒子は、非散乱性粒子である請求項1から請求項5のいずれか一項に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記第2粒子は、前記バインダー100重量部に対して5〜8、000重量部の割合で前記粒子含有層に含まれる請求項2から請求項5のいずれか一項に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記第1粒子の重量(A)及び前記第2粒子の重量(B)の割合(B/A)が0.05〜10である請求項1から請求項7のいずれか一項に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記オーバーコート層は、屈折率が1.5以上であり、平均粒径が1〜100nmである粒子を含む請求項1に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記粒子含有層の上部に形成された電極層をさらに含む請求項1から請求項9のいずれか一項に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 前記粒子含有層は、前記電極層と前記基材層で密封される請求項10に記載の有機電子素子用基板。
- 請求項1から請求項10のいずれか一項に記載の有機電子素子用基板と、
第1電極層と、
発光層を含む有機層と、
第2電極層と、を備え、
前記第1電極層、前記有機層、及び前記第2電極層は、前記有機電子素子用基板に順次形成されている、
