Claims (3)
- ケース内の流れ方向に沿って直列に配置された複数の室内に吸着材が充填されるとともに、上記流れ方向の一端に燃料蒸気の流入・流出部、他端に大気開放口を備えたキャニスタにおいて、
上記複数の室のうち、少なくとも上記大気開放側の室内に充填される吸着材は、50nm未満の大きさの微視的細孔を有する活性炭の粉末に、焼成時に消失するメルタブルコアをバインダとともに加えて焼成することで、50nm以上の大きさの巨視的細孔を形成したものであり、
更に、この大気開放側の室内に充填される吸着材は、外径が4〜6mmの円柱状もしくは直径が4〜6mmの球形で、かつ各部の肉厚が0.6mm〜1.5mmとなるような中空形状をなすとともに、その吸着材における50nm以上の大きさの巨視的細孔のうち、500nm未満の大きさの巨視的細孔の容積比率が30〜70%である、ことを特徴とするキャニスタ。 - 上記大気開放側の室内に充填される吸着材は、n−ブタン濃度が5容量%と50容量%の間でn−ブタン濃度の平衡吸着量の差分が35g/Lを超えるものである、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のキャニスタ。
- 上記ケース内の流れ方向に沿って4つ以上の室が直列に配置され、
これら4つ以上の室のうち、上記大気開放側から1つ目の室と2つ目の室内に充填される吸着材は、50nm未満の大きさの微視的細孔を有する活性炭の粉末に、焼成時に消失するメルタブルコアをバインダとともに加えて焼成することで、50nm以上の大きさの巨視的細孔を形成したものであり、
更に、これら大気開放側から1つ目の室と2つ目の室内に充填される吸着材は、外径が4〜6mmの円柱状もしくは直径が4〜6mmの球形で、かつ各部の肉厚が0.6mm〜1.5mmとなるような中空形状をなすとともに、その吸着材における50nm以上の大きさの巨視的細孔のうち、500nm未満の大きさの巨視的細孔の容積比率が30〜70%である、ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のキャニスタ。
