Description
図1を参照して、第1実施形態にかかる有機EL素子100の構成について説明する。図1に示されるように、有機EL素子100は、基板1の上に、陽極2、ホール注入層3、有機EL層4、電子注入層5、陰極水酸化物層6および陰極7が順に積層され、さらにこれら各部を金属缶8によって覆った構造とされている。
本発明は上記した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、特許請求の範囲に記載した範囲内において適宜変更が可能である。

Claims (3)
- 基板(1)を用意する工程と、
前記基板の上にホール注入電極となる陽極(2)を形成する工程と、
前記陽極の上に、ホール注入層(3)を形成する工程と、
前記ホール注入層の上に、少なくとも1層を湿式手法によって形成することで発光層を構成する有機EL層(4)を形成する工程と、
前記有機EL層の上に電子注入層(5)を形成する工程と、
前記電子注入層を形成した後、水分を含む雰囲気中に暴露する工程と、
前記水分を含む雰囲気中に暴露する工程を経た後、前記電子注入層の上に電子注入電極となる陰極(7)を形成することで、前記陰極のうちの前記電子注入層側を該電子注入層に吸着された水分と反応させて前記陰極の構成材料の水酸化物によって構成される陰極水酸化物層(6)を前記電子注入層と前記陰極との間に形成しつつ前記陰極を形成する工程と、を含んでいることを特徴とする有機EL素子の製造方法。 - 前記水分を含む雰囲気中に暴露する工程は、大気へ暴露する工程であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL素子の製造方法。
- 前記水分を含む雰囲気中に暴露する工程の後、不活性ガスもしくは雰囲気中において、100℃以上かつ前記有機EL層の構成材料のガラス転位温度Tg以下の温度でのベーク処理を行う工程を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の有機EL素子の製造方法。
