Description
[0001] 本出願は、2012年4月3日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/619,430号及び2012年9月13日に出願された第61/700,338号に対する優先権の利益を主張する。上述の特許出願は双方ともあらゆる目的のためにそれら全体が引用により本願にも含まれるものとする。
[00027] 従来の道路は、アスファルト、コンクリート、締固めた土、及び他の同様の材料等の様々な材料を含む。土を結合するためにポリマー材料が用いられることは珍しい。ラテックス等の用いられるものは、水、太陽光、機械的ストレス要因等の環境条件にさらされると容易に劣化する。従来の道路の一例は、アスファルトコンクリートシステム又は単にアスファルトである。
[00041] リクレーマ−スタビライザ機械及び更に後述する他の種類の機器を用いて、路床材料の上部を粉砕し残りの部分を締固めることによって、既存の路床から新しい表面材料を調製することができる。これらの機械は、未処理の現場の土材料又は既存の路床を粉砕、再利用、締固め、及び他の方法で安定化させるように設計された回転切断アセンブリ、スクレーパ、オーガ、及び他のシステムを含むことができる。例示的なリクレーマ−スタビライザ機械は、Terex(登録商標)(コネチカット州ウェストポート)によって製造された切断深度が10インチ未満の小規模ジョブ向けの型番R350とR446、及び切断深度が20インチまでの道路向けの型番RS950Bであり、いくつかの実施形態に従って更に耐久性の高いベース層を形成するのに適している。
[00069] 図7Aは、いくつかの実施形態に従ったリクレーマ−スタビライザ機械700の概略図である。リクレーマ−スタビライザ機械700を用いて、路床材料を粉砕すること及び残りの土を締固めることによって、既存の路床から新たな表面材料を調製することができる。リクレーマ−スタビライザ機械700は、回転切断アセンブリ、1つ以上のスクレーパ、オーガ、更に、処理済み又は未処理の現場の土材料もしくは既存の路床を粉砕、再利用、締固め、及び他の方法で安定化させるように設計された他のシステムを含むことができる。具体的には、リクレーマ−スタビライザ機械700は、以下の動作の1つ以上を実行するように構成することができる。すなわち、現場の土を粉砕し、少なくとも1つのポリウレタン前駆物質を送出し、送出したポリウレタン前駆物質を現場の土と混合して混合物を形成し、混合物を締固める。いくつかの実施形態では、リクレーマ−スタビライザ機械700は、もっと少数の動作又はもっと多数の動作を実行するように構成されている。例えば土の締固めは、リクレーマ−スタビライザ機械700以外の何らかの機器によって実行可能である。同一の又は別の例において、リクレーマ−スタビライザ機械700は、現場の土の中に元来存在していない追加の骨材を現場の土(例えば岩、繊維)に加えるように構成することも可能である。
[00077] 道路を形成するために用いられる1つ以上のポリウレタン前駆物質は、1つ以上のイソシアネート(例えばプレポリマーイソシアネート)、1つ以上のポリオール、熱安定剤、充填材料、及び/又は他の材料を含むことができる。これらの他の材料のいくつかの例には、触媒、染料、顔料、界面活性剤、可塑剤、溶剤、発泡剤、分散剤、架橋剤、難燃剤、光安定剤、酸捕捉剤、静電気防止剤、及び酸化防止剤が含まれる。本明細書において、全てのこれらの材料をまとめて前駆物質と称する。前駆物質を粉砕した現場の土に分与する前、前駆物質を土に分与している間、及び/又は前駆物質を土に分与した後に、ポリウレタン混合物に前駆物質を用いる。
[000108] 上述のように、ポリウレタン材料を用いて瀝青経路の上面を被覆して、密封瀝青経路を生成するか又は瀝青粗石と混合して混合物を生成し、次いでこれを硬化させて補強瀝青舗装を形成し、又はリクレーマ−スタビライザ機械と組み合わせて用いて単層もしくは多層の道路を生成することができる。これらの技法のいくつかを単独で又は組み合わせて用いて道路を形成することができる。例えば、流し込み及び平滑化技法を用いてポリウレタン混合物を表面上に広げることができる。いくつかの好適な実施形態では、エアレススプレーを用いてポリウレタン混合物をスプレーすることによって、ポリウレタン混合物をベース層の上面に塗布することができる。ポリウレタン混合物は、例えば100から150平方フィート/ガロン等の50から200平方フィート/ガロンの範囲で瀝青経路の上面の領域を覆うことができる。アスファルト舗装システムが孔、ひび、又は割れ目等の開口を含むいくつかの実施形態では、開口をタール又は加熱流し込み瀝青液のような標準的なアスファルトコンクリート補修材料等の他の材料で充填する必要なく、ポリウレタン混合物をアスファルト舗装システムの上面に塗布することができる。ポリウレタン混合物が開口を充填するようにポリウレタン混合物を塗布することができ、又は単に開口の表面をコーティングすることができる。
[000109] 5.5重量%のポリウレタン及び94.5重量%の分解花崗岩を含有するサンプルについて実験セットを行った。花崗岩のサイズは1/2マイナスであった。ポリウレタンと分解花崗岩の混合物を95%に締固め(すなわち5%の空隙)、少なくとも7日間硬化させた。20℃で試験したサンプルの圧縮強度は12MPaであり、50℃の圧縮強度は9MPaであった。これらのサンプルの平均密度は2.1g/cm3であった。試験はASTM D1074−09に従って実行した。
[000111] 理解を明確にする目的のために前述の概念をある程度詳細に記載したが、添付の特許請求の範囲の範囲内で何らかの変更及び変形を実施可能であることは認められよう。これらのプロセス、システム、及び装置を実施するために多くの代替的な方法があることに留意すべきである。従って、本実施形態は限定でなく例示として見なされるものである。
Claims (17)
- 道路、歩行路、鉄道線路のための道路、又は、駐車場の1つを形成する方法であって、
現場の土を粉砕すること、
前記土を複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質と組み合わせることであって、
前記土を前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質と組み合わせることは、ポリウレタン充填土材料を形成することであり、
ポリウレタン充填土材料は、前記土及び前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質を含み、
前記ポリウレタン充填土材料中の前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質の濃度は2重量%から20重量%であり、
前記土を前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質と組み合わせることは、前記現場の土を粉砕する間に実行され、
前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質は、第1の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質及び第2の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質を含み、前記土を複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質と組み合わせる間に前記第1の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質及び前記第2の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質が組み合わせられる、ことと、
前記ポリウレタン充填土材料を押圧すること、
を備える、方法。 - 前記ポリウレタン充填土材料は舗装下地に押圧される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリウレタン充填土材料を前記舗装下地に押圧することは、前記道路、前記歩行路、前記鉄道線路のための道路、又は、前記駐車場の1つにおける1つ以上の層を形成することである、請求項2に記載の方法。
- ポリウレタン材料を用いて前記道路、前記歩行路、前記鉄道線路のための道路、又は、前記駐車場の1つにおける1つ以上の層を密封して、これにより、前記道路、前記歩行路、前記鉄道線路のための道路、又は、前記駐車場の1つにおける1つ以上の層の上に密封層を形成することをさらに含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記組み合わせはパグミルを用いて実行される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記土は、砂、砂利、又は砕いた岩の1つを含む外部からの骨材である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリウレタン充填土材料を舗装下地に押圧した後に、気流又は加熱の少なくとも1つを用いて前記ポリウレタン充填土材料を硬化することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記土を前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質と組み合わせる前に前記土の水分含有量を調節することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質は、イソシアネート又はイソシアネート含有プレポリマーの1つを含み、前記ポリウレタン充填土材料は、実質的にポリオールを含有しない、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリウレタン充填土材料の中に補強成分を加えることを更に備え、前記補強成分が、玄武岩繊維、シリカ繊維、ガラス繊維、及びポリプロピレン繊維を備える群から選択された材料を備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質が、水酸化アルミニウム、水酸化マグネシウム、三酸化アンチモン、五酸化アンチモン、アンチモン酸ナトリウム、ホウ酸亜鉛、スズ酸亜鉛、亜鉛ヒドロスタネート、赤リン、ポリリン酸アンモニウム、及びそれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択された熱安定剤を備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質が、ジフェニルメタン−ジイソシアネートを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記現場の土は、硬化アスファルトコンクリート組成物である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリウレタン充填土材料を押圧した後に形成される層は、少なくとも90%の土の締固めを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質が、ポリエステルポリオールを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリエステルポリオールは、多価アルコールのヒドロキシ終端反応生成物を含み、前記多価アルコールは、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、ジエチレングリコール、1,4−ブタンジオール、ネオペンチルグリコール、1,6−ヘキサンジオール、シクロヘキサンジメタノール、グリセロール、トリメチロールプロパン、又は、ペンタエリトリトールの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の水硬化性ポリウレタン前駆物質及び前記土は、舗装下地に前記ポリウレタン充填土材料を押圧する場所で組み合わせられる、請求項1に記載の方法。
