Abstract
Description
本発明の第一実施形態に係る、レーザ光を透過する複数のプラスチック部品のレーザ溶着方法として、第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2のレーザ溶着方法の原理を説明する。図1は第一実施形態における要部の断面図であり、図2は斜視図である。
なお、銅やアルミニュウムを用いた反射部14の代わりに、レーザ光の反射はしなくとも熱伝導度が高い他の材料を用い、上記二つ目の役割を主として果たし、発熱部4の熱が伝導される部材、これを伝熱部と称して発熱部4を囲むようにしてもよい。
(ステップ1)第一と第二のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の大きさに対応して限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質でできていて、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する発熱部を含む支持部材に、前記複数のプラスチック部品を載置し、
(ステップ2)前記第一と第二のプラスチック部品を当接面で当接させ、
(ステップ3)前記第一と第二のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面のある部分を前記支持部材の発熱部に対向させて重ね、
(ステップ4)加圧部材により前記第一と第二のプラスチック部品を前記発熱部との間に挟持して押圧することで、前記第一と第二のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面同士を密着させると同時に、前記支持部材の発熱部と発熱部と接する第一のプラスチック部品の表面を密着させ、
(ステップ5)レーザ光照射手段によりレーザ光を集光して前記第一と第二のプラスチック部品越しから前記支持部材の発熱部に向けて照射し、
(ステップ6)レーザ光を前記第一と第二のプラスチック部品に透過させて前記発熱部に吸収させ、
(ステップ7)当該発熱部で発熱させ、
(ステップ8)当該発熱部で発生した熱で前記第一と第二のプラスチック部品の前記溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する。
第二実施形態では、板状の第一と第二のプラスチック部品1h、2hに対して、レーザ光を照射する位置を少しずつ移動して溶着範囲を累積的に拡大する場合を説明する。図18は、本発明の第二実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の概要を示した長手方向断面図であり、図19は、横方向断面図である。なお、上記第一実施形態及び変形例と同じ構成要素については、同じ符号を付している。
図23は、本発明の第三実施形態に係るレーザ溶着方法で溶着するプラスチック部品の分解斜視図である。第一のプラスチック部品1iは、薄いポリアミド樹脂等の熱可塑性樹脂製の円形状のシートで、第二のプラスチック部品2iは同じくポリアミド樹脂等の熱可塑性樹脂製の中空円筒である。しわや波打ちが生じて取り扱いが難しい薄い円形の熱可塑性樹脂シートを、熱可塑性樹脂の細い剛性枠に溶着するときなどに利用される。本発明の第三実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置では、第一のプラスチック部品1iである薄い熱可塑性樹脂製の円形状のシートの外周近傍の表面を、第二のプラスチック部品2iである熱可塑性樹脂製の中空円筒の端面に溶着する。
図29に、本発明の第四実施形態に係る、レーザ光を透過する第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2のレーザ溶着方法の原理を示す。本発明の第四実施形態では、支持部材3jに空間部を設けることで空気層の断熱効果を利用した熱遮断部5bを形成し、発熱部4で発生した熱が熱遮断部(空間部)5bの外に出ないようにしている。
図32は、本発明の第五実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の概要を示した図である。本発明の第五実施形態では、本発明の第三実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置と同様に、第一のプラスチック部品1iである薄いポリアミド樹脂等の熱可塑性樹脂製の円形状のシートの表面を、第二のプラスチック部品2iであるポリアミド樹脂等の熱可塑性樹脂製の中空円筒の端面に溶着する。本発明の第五実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置は、支持部材3kに空間部を設けることで空気層の断熱効果を利用した熱遮断部5e、5fを形成している。このことは、本発明の第四実施形態と同じである。ちなみに、本発明の第五実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の他の構成部分は、本発明の第三実施形態に係る、図26で示したレーザ溶着装置と同じであるので、重複する部分についての説明を省略する。
図34は、本発明の第六実施形態に係る、レーザ光を透過する第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2のレーザ溶着方法の原理を示した図である。本発明の第六実施形態では、支持部材3mの発熱部4の周囲を削って溝状の空間部を設けることで空気層の断熱効果を利用した熱遮断部5bを形成し、支持部材3mの発熱部4の表面(上面)にレーザ光9を吸収する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光吸収コーティング部54を形成している。そして、レーザ光吸収コーティング部54に隣接してレーザ光を反射する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光反射コーティング部55を形成している。
図36は、本発明の第七実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置で溶着するプラスチック部品の分解斜視図、図37は、本発明の第七実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置で溶着するプラスチック部品の溶着後の状態を示す外観斜視図である。図38は、本発明の第七実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の要部を示した図である。そして、3nは、本発明の第七実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の支持部材を示した図である。
図40A、図40Bは、本発明の第八実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の他の支持部材の図である。本発明の第八実施形態では、支持部材3pの発熱部4の周囲を削って溝状の空間部を設けることで空気層の断熱効果を利用した熱遮断部5e、5fを形成し、支持部材3pの発熱部4の上面にレーザ光を吸収する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光吸収コーティング部54を形成している。レーザ光吸収材としては、酸化鉄等の無機顔料であるレーザ光吸収性顔料、赤外線吸収色素を含有したインク、黒色の油性塗料などが用いられる。
図41は、本発明の第九実施形態に係るレーザ溶着方法で溶着するプラスチック部品の分解斜視図である。第一のプラスチック部品1kは薄い円板であり、第二のプラスチック部品2kは環状板である。第一のプラスチック部品1kである円板の外周面が第二のプラスチック部品2kである環状板の孔の内周面に収まる弱い締り嵌めで、互いに密着するように嵌合してある。本発明の第九実施形態では、円板の外周面と環状板の孔の内周面を、突き合わせ溶着のようにレーザ溶着する。図42は、本発明の第九実施形態に係るレーザ溶着方法で溶着したときのプラスチック部品の外観斜視図である。図42では、溶着した部分を点線で示している。例えば、第一のプラスチック部品1kの薄い円板が剛性の無い柔軟な材質であるとき、剛性の有る固い材質の外枠を溶着して、取り扱いやすい一つの部品とするときなどに利用できる。
図44は、本発明の第十実施形態に係る、レーザ光を透過する板状の第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2のレーザ溶着方法の原理を示した図である。図44では、支持部材3rの発熱部4の周囲を削って溝状の空間部を設けることで空気層の断熱効果を利用した熱遮断部5bを形成し、支持部材3rの発熱部4の上面の第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2の溶着対象範囲の当接面に対応する範囲にレーザ光9を吸収する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光吸収コーティング部54を形成している。そして、レーザ光吸収コーティング部54に隣接してレーザ光を反射する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光反射コーティング部55を形成している。
図46は、本発明の第十一実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置図の原理を示した図である。本発明の第十一実施形態では、管状をした第一のプラスチック部品1mと、同じく管状をした第二のプラスチック部品2mを溶着する。
図49は、本発明の第十二実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の原理を示した図である。本発明の第十二実施形態では、第十一実施形態と同じく、管状をした第一のプラスチック部品1mと、同じく管状をした第二のプラスチック部品2mを溶着するのであるが、支持部材3tの構造が異なっている。図49の支持部材3tは、図50で詳述するように、中空孔を有する管状をした支持部材3tの管部3uの中空孔3vに、長さの短い棒状をした中実部3wを熱カシメする方法で作っている。中実部3wの長さは、管状をした第一と第二のプラスチック部品1m、2mの溶着しようとしている溶着対象範囲の長さと等しい程度、またはそれ以上として、余裕を見るときは溶着範囲の長さの数倍程度にしている。
図52は、本発明の第十三実施形態に係るレーザ溶着装置の支持部材に断熱材を入れる手順を示した図である。本発明の第十三実施形態では、管状の第一と第二のプラスチック部品を支持する支持部材3tの発熱部の両端にガラス繊維などの断熱材86を詰め込んで使用する。
本発明の第十四実施形態では、支持部材3xの発熱部4の上面の第一と第二のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面に対応する範囲にレーザ光を吸収する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光吸収コーティング部96を形成している。
本発明の第十五実施形態では、図54のように、支持部材3yの発熱部4の上面の第一と第二のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面に対応する範囲にレーザ光を吸収する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光吸収コーティング部96を形成している。そして、レーザ光吸収コーティング部96に隣接する左右2箇所にレーザ光を反射する樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光反射コーティング部97を形成している。
本発明の第十六実施形態では、図55のように、支持部材3zの発熱部4の上面の第一と第二のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面に対応する範囲を、軸方向に複数の領域(例えば96a〜96e)に区分し、その領域ごとにレーザ光の吸収率が異なる樹脂コーティングを行い、レーザ光吸収コーティング部96を形成している。そして、レーザ光吸収コーティング部96に図56に示したように、パターンAとして、領域96aのレーザ光吸収率が低く、領域96bのレーザ光吸収率が中程度で、領域96cのレーザ光吸収率が高く、領域96dのレーザ光吸収率が中程度で、領域96eのレーザ光吸収率が低い、という傾向をもった発熱部や、パターンB、パターンCという傾向をもった発熱部を選択して利用することを可能としている。図56は、パターンA、パターンB、パターンCの領域96a〜96eのそれぞれのレーザ光吸収率の組み合わせを一覧表として示している。そして、図57で、パターンA、パターンB、パターンCの領域96a〜96eのそれぞれのレーザ光吸収率の組み合わせを視覚的に示している。すなわち、パターンAでは発熱部の中央の吸収率が山形をなすように高く、パターンBでは発熱部の中央付近の吸収率が平均的に高く、パターンCでは発熱部の両端の吸収率が高くなっている。
図58は、本発明の第十七実施形態に係るレーザ溶着方法の原理を示した図である。図58では、支持部材3yの発熱部中央位置に対して左側に、管状をした第一のプラスチック部品1nを被せ、右側に、管状をした第二のプラスチック部品2nを被せ、第一と第二のプラスチック部品1n、2nのそれぞれの端面を突き合わせて、突き合わせた端面を中心とした近傍をレーザ光を透過する管状の加圧部材6で押さえ、当接面である端面を密着させている。75は図示しない支持部材3yの回転部であり、同回転部75によりパイプ状をした支持部材3yの端部をチャック等で掴んで、支持部材3yを、その軸の周りに回転させるようにしている。
図60は、本発明の第十八実施形態に係るレーザ溶着方法の原理を示した図である。発明の第十八施形態では、管状をした第一のプラスチック部品1pの周面上に、管状をした第二のプラスチック部品2pの端部を重ねたときにできる段差部分88とその近傍をレーザ溶着するように構成している。
図62は、本発明の第十九実施形態にかかる、レーザ光を透過する複数のプラスチック部品のレーザ溶着方法として、第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2のレーザ溶着方法の原理を示した図を示す。図62において、1、2は、溶着対象である第一と第二のプラスチック部品である。なお、溶着対象を3つのプラスチック部品とした場合については、図63を用いて後述する、
図64は、本発明の第二十実施形態にかかるレーザ溶着装置の概要を示した図である。本発明の第二十実施形態にかかるレーザ溶着装置では、第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2を透過する第一のレーザ光(近赤外のレーザ光)9aと、波長の異なる第二のレーザ光(遠赤外のレーザ光)9bを併用し、加圧部材として第一のレーザ光(近赤外のレーザ光)9aを透過するが、第二のレーザ光(遠赤外のレーザ光)9bを吸収する材料(例えば、シリコンゴムなど)を用いた加圧板6fを第二のプラスチック部品2の上に被せている。
図65は、本発明の第二十一実施形態にかかるレーザ溶着装置の概要を示した図である。本発明の第二十一実施形態にかかるレーザ溶着装置は、第一と第二のプラスチック部品1、2を透過する第一のレーザ光(近赤外のレーザ光)9aと、波長の異なる第二のレーザ光(遠赤外のレーザ光)9bを併用し、加圧部材として第一のレーザ光(近赤外のレーザ光)9aを透過するが、第二のレーザ光(遠赤外のレーザ光)9bを吸収する材料(例えば、シリコンゴムなど)を用いた加圧板6fを第二のプラスチック部品2の上に被せている。
図66は、本発明の第二十二実施形態にかかるレーザ溶着装置の概要を示した図である。本発明の第二十一実施形態にかかるレーザ溶着装置は、第一と第二のプラスチック部品1p、2pを透過する第一のレーザ光(近赤外のレーザ光)9aと、波長の異なる第二のレーザ光(遠赤外のレーザ光)9bを併用し、加圧部材6の材料として第二のレーザ光9bを吸収するシリコンゴムなどの材料を用いている。
図67に、本発明の第二十三実施形態の原理図を示す。図67は、下ハウジングを支持部材103として用いたもので、発熱部4の上面を露出した状態で支持している。支持部材103の内部には冷却材17を通す冷却路18の一部として空洞18bがあいていて、空洞18bから発熱部4の周囲と支持部材103の側面に排熱口18cが開口している。支持部材103には冷却材供給部18aが取り付けられていて、冷却材供給部18aから冷却路18を通して冷却材17を空洞18bに送り込む。冷却材17は発熱部4の底面と側面を通ることで、発熱部4の熱を奪って冷却し、奪った熱を発熱部4の周囲と支持部材103の側面の排熱口18cから外部に排出する。他の構成は、図14と同じなので説明は省略する。
本発明の第1の態様に係るレーザ溶着装置は、
複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の大きさに対応して限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質からなり、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する発熱部と、を含む支持部材と、
前記複数のプラスチック部品を透過するレーザ光を集光して、前記複数のプラスチック部品越しに前記発熱部へ向けて前記レーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射手段と、
前記レーザ光照射手段を用いてレーザ光を前記発熱部に照射させ、前記発熱部を発熱させ、発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する溶着制御手段と、
を備える。
前記溶着制御手段は、前記温度測定手段からの前記発熱部の温度情報に基づいて、(1)前記発熱部の温度を一定に保つ、(2)レーザ照射を停止する、(3)レーザ溶着完了を報知する、の少なくとも一つの溶着動作を行う。
さらに、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に向けて照射する第二のレーザ光照射手段を備え、
前記加圧手段に近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を透過するが、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を吸収する材料を用い、
前記溶着制御手段は、前記第一のレーザ光照射手段と第二のレーザ光照射手段により、前記第一のレーザ光と第二のレーザ光を同時に照射して、第一のレーザ光で前記支持部材の発熱部を発熱させ、第二のレーザ光で前記加圧手段を発熱させ、前記複数のプラスチック部品を挟んでいる前記支持部材の発熱部と前記加圧手段でそれぞれ発生した熱を用いて、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着するように制御する。

Claims (25)
- 複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の、レーザ光が照射される溶着部分の大きさを溶着するのに必要であると限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質からなり、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する柱状の発熱部と、を含む支持部材と、
前記複数のプラスチック部品を透過するレーザ光を集光して、前記複数のプラスチック部品越しに前記発熱部へ向けて前記レーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射手段と、
前記レーザ光照射手段を用いてレーザ光を前記発熱部に照射させ、前記発熱部を発熱させ、発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する溶着制御手段と、を備え、
前記発熱部を、発生した熱が前記発熱部からレーザ光が照射されない部分に拡散しないようにする構造とした、ことを特徴とするレーザ溶着装置。 - 更に、前記支持部材は、前記発熱部の周囲が、断熱する熱遮断部により囲まれている請求項1に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 更に、前記支持部材の発熱部とともに前記複数のプラスチック部品を挟み、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲となる当接面同士が密着する方向に加圧する加圧手段を有する請求項1または2に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 前記支持部材は前記熱遮断部として空間部を有する請求項2に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 更に、前記支持部材は、前記発熱部の表面に、前記レーザ光を吸収する樹脂コーティングが施されている請求項1に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 更に、前記複数のプラスチック部品と前記レーザ光照射手段からレーザ光が照射されるレーザ光出射位置との距離を一定に保ったまま、前記レーザ光照射手段のレーザ光出射位置を前記複数のプラスチック部品に対して移動させるレーザ移動手段を備える請求項1に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 更に、前記複数のプラスチック部品と前記レーザ光照射手段からレーザ光が照射されるレーザ光出射位置との距離を一定に保ったまま、前記複数のプラスチック部品を前記レーザ光出射位置に対して移動させるプラスチック部品移動手段を備える請求項1に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 前記プラスチック部品移動手段は、前記複数のプラスチック部品を前記レーザ光照射手段のレーザ光出射位置に対して水平方向に並行移動させる、あるいは水平方向に回転移動させる、あるいは前記発熱部に向けてのレーザ光照射方向に対して直交する軸の周りに回転させる、の少なくとも一つを行う請求項7に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 更に、前記支持部材の発熱部の温度を測定し、測定した温度情報を前記溶着制御手段に送る温度測定手段を有し、
前記溶着制御手段は、前記温度測定手段からの前記発熱部の温度情報に基づいて、(1)前記発熱部の温度を一定に保つ、(2)レーザ照射を停止する、(3)レーザ溶着完了を報知する、の少なくとも一つの溶着動作を行う請求項1に記載のレーザ溶着装置。 - 前記温度測定手段は、熱電対、または反射型温度計である請求項9に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 前記レーザ光照射手段は、近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を照射する第一のレーザ光照射手段であり、
さらに、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に向けて照射する第二のレーザ光照射手段を備え、
前記加圧手段に近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を透過するが、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を吸収する材料を用い、
前記溶着制御手段は、前記第一のレーザ光照射手段と第二のレーザ光照射手段により、前記第一のレーザ光と第二のレーザ光を同時に照射して、第一のレーザ光で前記支持部材の発熱部を発熱させ、第二のレーザ光で前記加圧手段を発熱させ、前記複数のプラスチック部品を挟んでいる前記支持部材の発熱部と前記加圧手段でそれぞれ発生した熱を用いて、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着するように制御する請求項3に記載のレーザ溶着装置。 - 更に、前記発熱部の上面を露出させた形で前記支持部材を収納し、前記発熱部の上面に向けて開口した排熱口を含む冷却路を有するハウジングと、
前記冷却路に冷却材を供給し、前記冷却路の排熱口から前記発熱部の上面に向けて冷却材を吹き付ける冷却材送出手段とを有する請求項1から請求項9のいずれか一に記載のレーザ溶着装置。 - 更に、前記発熱部の上面を露出させた形で前記支持部材を収納し、前記発熱部の上面以外の面に沿って形成された冷却路を有するハウジングと、
前記冷却路に冷却材を供給し、前記発熱部の上面以外の面に沿って冷却材を吹き付ける冷却材送出手段とを有する請求項1から請求項9のいずれか一に記載のレーザ溶着装置。 - 前記発熱部は、前記プラスチック部品と当接する当接面に凹部が設けられ、当該凹部の周囲に垂直壁が設けられている請求項1から請求項13のいずれか一に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- レーザ光を透過する複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着するレーザ溶着方法であって、
(1)複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の、レーザ光が照射される溶着部分の大きさを溶着するのに必要であると限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質でできていて、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する柱状で、発生した熱が前記発熱部からレーザ光が照射されない部分に拡散しないようにした構造とした発熱部を含む支持部材に、前記複数のプラスチック部品を載置し、
(2)前記複数のプラスチック部品を溶着対象範囲の当接面で当接させ、
(3)前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面のある部分を前記支持部材の発熱部に対向させて重ね、
(4)加圧手段により前記複数のプラスチック部品を前記発熱部との間に挟持して押圧することで、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面同士を密着させると同時に、前記支持部材の発熱部と前記発熱部と接するプラスチック部品の表面を密着させ、
(5)レーザ光照射手段によりレーザ光を集光して前記複数のプラスチック部品越しから前記支持部材の発熱部に向けて照射し、
(6)前記レーザ光を前記複数のプラスチック部品に透過させ前記発熱部に吸収させ、
(7)前記発熱部を発熱させ、
(8)当該発熱部で発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の前記溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する、
以上(1)から(8)のステップを含むレーザ溶着方法。 - 前記(1)から(7)のステップにより、前記発熱部を発熱させたのち、前記発熱部の温度情報を一または複数の熱電対により検出して、前記温度情報に基づき、前記レーザ光照射手段によるレーザ光の照射量を増減するとともに、冷却材送出手段から冷却材を供給して前記発熱部を冷却する(9)のステップを含む請求項15に記載のレーザ溶着方法。
- 前記レーザ光照射手段は、近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を照射する第一のレーザ光照射手段であり、
さらに、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に向けて照射する第二のレーザ光照射手段を備え、
前記加圧手段は、近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を透過するが、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を吸収する材料からなり、
前記(5)のステップは、前記第一のレーザ光照射手段により、前記第一のレーザ光を集光して前記複数のプラスチック部品越しから前記支持部材の発熱部に向けて照射するのと同時に、前記第二のレーザ光照射手段により前記第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に向けて照射し、
前記(6)のステップは、前記第一のレーザ光を前記複数のプラスチック部品に透過させ前記発熱部に吸収させるとともに、前記第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に吸収させて、
前記(7)のステップは、前記発熱部とともに前記加圧手段を発熱させ、
前記(8)のステップは、前記複数のプラスチック部品を挟んでいる前記支持部材の発熱部と前記加圧手段でそれぞれ発生した熱を用いて、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する請求項15又は請求項16に記載のレーザ溶着方法。 - 更に、前記支持部材は、前記発熱部の周囲が、前記レーザ光を反射する反射部により囲まれている請求項1に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 更に、前記支持部材は、前記発熱部の周囲が、前記発熱部の熱が伝導される伝熱部により囲まれている請求項1に記載のレーザ溶着装置。
- 複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の大きさに対応して限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質からなり、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する発熱部と、を含む支持部材と、
前記複数のプラスチック部品を透過するレーザ光を集光して、前記複数のプラスチック部品越しに前記発熱部へ向けて前記レーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射手段と、
前記レーザ光照射手段を用いてレーザ光を前記発熱部に照射させ、前記発熱部を発熱させ、発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する溶着制御手段と、を備え、
更に、前記支持部材の発熱部とともに前記複数のプラスチック部品を挟み、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲となる当接面同士が密着する方向に加圧する加圧手段を有し、
前記レーザ光照射手段は、近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を照射する第一のレーザ光照射手段であり、
更に、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に向けて照射する第二のレーザ光照射手段を備え、
前記加圧手段に近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を透過するが、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を吸収する材料を用い、
前記溶着制御手段は、前記第一のレーザ光照射手段と第二のレーザ光照射手段により、前記第一のレーザ光と第二のレーザ光を同時に照射して、第一のレーザ光で前記支持部材の発熱部を発熱させ、第二のレーザ光で前記加圧手段を発熱させ、前記複数のプラスチック部品を挟んでいる前記支持部材の発熱部と前記加圧手段でそれぞれ発生した熱を用いて、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着するように制御することを特徴とするレーザ溶着装置。 - 複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の大きさに対応して限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質からなり、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する発熱部と、を含む支持部材と、
前記複数のプラスチック部品を透過するレーザ光を集光して、前記複数のプラスチック部品越しに前記発熱部へ向けて前記レーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射手段と、
前記レーザ光照射手段を用いてレーザ光を前記発熱部に照射させ、前記発熱部を発熱させ、発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する溶着制御手段と、を備え、
更に、前記発熱部の上面を露出させた形で前記支持部材を収納し、前記発熱部の上面に向けて開口した排熱口を含む冷却路を有するハウジングと、
前記冷却路に冷却材を供給し、前記冷却路の排熱口から前記発熱部の上面に向けて冷却材を吹き付ける冷却材送出手段とを有することを特徴とするレーザ溶着装置。 - 複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の大きさに対応して限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質からなり、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する発熱部と、を含む支持部材と、
前記複数のプラスチック部品を透過するレーザ光を集光して、前記複数のプラスチック部品越しに前記発熱部へ向けて前記レーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射手段と、
前記レーザ光照射手段を用いてレーザ光を前記発熱部に照射させ、前記発熱部を発熱させ、発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する溶着制御手段と、を備え、
更に、前記発熱部の上面を露出させた形で前記支持部材を収納し、前記発熱部の上面以外の面に沿って形成された冷却路を有するハウジングと、
前記冷却路に冷却材を供給し、前記発熱部の上面以外の面に沿って冷却材を吹き付ける冷却材送出手段とを有することを特徴とするレーザ溶着装置。 - 複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の大きさに対応して限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質からなり、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する発熱部と、を含む支持部材と、
前記複数のプラスチック部品を透過するレーザ光を集光して、前記複数のプラスチック部品越しに前記発熱部へ向けて前記レーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射手段と、
前記レーザ光照射手段を用いてレーザ光を前記発熱部に照射させ、前記発熱部を発熱させ、発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する溶着制御手段と、を備え、
前記発熱部は、前記プラスチック部品と当接する当接面に凹部が設けられ、当該凹部の周囲に垂直壁が設けられていることを特徴とするレーザ溶着装置。 - レーザ光を透過する複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着するレーザ溶着方法であって、
(1)複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の大きさに対応して限定される大きさがあり、レーザ光を吸収して発熱する材質でできていて、前記プラスチック部品の溶融温度以上に発熱する発熱部を含む支持部材に、前記複数のプラスチック部品を載置し、
(2)前記複数のプラスチック部品を溶着対象範囲の当接面で当接させ、
(3)前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面のある部分を前記支持部材の発熱部に対向させて重ね、
(4)加圧手段により前記複数のプラスチック部品を前記発熱部との間に挟持して押圧することで、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面同士を密着させると同時に、前記支持部材の発熱部と前記発熱部と接するプラスチック部品の表面を密着させ、
(5)レーザ光照射手段によりレーザ光を集光して前記複数のプラスチック部品越しから前記支持部材の発熱部に向けて照射し、
(6)前記レーザ光を前記複数のプラスチック部品に透過させ前記発熱部に吸収させ、
(7)前記発熱部を発熱させ、
(8)当該発熱部で発生した熱で前記複数のプラスチック部品の前記溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する、
(9)前記(1)から(7)のステップにより、前記発熱部を発熱させたのち、前記発熱部の温度情報を一または複数の熱電対により検出して、前記温度情報に基づき、前記レーザ光照射手段によるレーザ光の照射量を増減するとともに、冷却材送出手段から冷却材を供給して前記発熱部を冷却する、
以上(1)から(9)のステップを含むレーザ溶着方法。 - 前記レーザ光照射手段は、近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を照射する第一のレーザ光照射手段であり、
さらに、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に向けて照射する第二のレーザ光照射手段を備え、
前記加圧手段は、近赤外光である第一のレーザ光を透過するが、遠赤外光である第二のレーザ光を吸収する材料からなり、
前記(5)のステップは、前記第一のレーザ光照射手段により、前記第一のレーザ光を集光して前記複数のプラスチック部品越しから前記支持部材の発熱部に向けて照射するのと同時に、前記第二のレーザ光照射手段により前記第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に向けて照射し、
前記(6)のステップは、前記第一のレーザ光を前記複数のプラスチック部品に透過させ前記発熱部に吸収させるとともに、前記第二のレーザ光を前記加圧手段に吸収させて、
前記(7)のステップは、前記発熱部とともに前記加圧手段を発熱させ、
前記(8)のステップは、前記複数のプラスチック部品を挟んでいる前記支持部材の発熱部と前記加圧手段でそれぞれ発生した熱を用いて、前記複数のプラスチック部品の溶着対象範囲の当接面を溶着する請求項24に記載のレーザ溶着方法。
