Description
図1に、本発明の実施形態1に係る熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着装置と溶着対象物の位置関係を示す概略構成図を示す。支持部材1は、例えばシリコン板からなる断熱材でできている。支持部材1の厚さはもっと厚くしてもよいし、下にアルミニュウム製のブロックを敷いてもよい。当該支持部材1の上には、溶着対象物である2つの熱可塑性樹脂材2A、2Bが重ねて載置される。なお、熱可塑性樹脂材2A、2Bは、厚さ0.15mm程度の熱可塑性樹脂シートであり、それぞれの軟化温度を表記する場合はTm1、Tm2として表示するが、本発明の実施形態1では、熱可塑性樹脂材2A、2Bの材質を同じとして、軟化温度も同じ温度をTm、すなわち、Tm1=Tm2=Tmとして説明する。

を満足するように温度制御する。このことにより、熱可塑性樹脂材2A、2Bを安定的にレーザ溶着することができる。
図6では、熱可塑性樹脂材2A、2Bのレーザ光照射側とその反対側とで、溶融量に差ができている。そこで、レーザ光照射側の押圧部材3の表面からの放熱量を増やしたり、レーザ光照射の反対側の面の溶融領域に相当する表面範囲を他の加熱手段で軟化温度までには至らない低い温度に加熱したりして、レーザ光照射側とその反対側とで、溶融量に差ができないようにしてもよい。
本発明のレーザ溶着装置は、管状の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着に適用することができる。溶着対象物である管材と継手を重ねた部分に本発明のレーザ光4aを照射して、レーザ光照射領域の表面温度(Ta)を測り、レーザ光照射領域の表面温度(Ta)をフィードバックしてレーザ出力を制御し、表面温度(Ta)を熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度(Tm)と同じか、近傍で高い温度にするとともに、レーザ光を照射しないレーザ光照射周辺領域の温度(Tb)を熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度(Tm)より低くすれば、レーザ光照射領域の熱可塑性樹脂材だけを溶融してレーザ溶着できるからである。
本発明の実施形態1から3では、2つの熱可塑性樹脂材をレーザ溶着する場合を説明したが、熱可塑性樹脂材は3つ以上あってもよい。本発明の実施形態4として、図11に、第1、第2熱可塑性樹脂2A、2Bに加えて第3熱可塑性樹脂2Cを加えた3つの熱可塑性樹脂材2A、2B、2Cを重ねて、レーザ光照射手段4によりレーザ光4aを照射する構成を示した。図11で、レーザ光照射領域の表面温度(Ta)を軟化温度(Tm1、Tm2、Tm3)と同じか、近傍で高い温度にして溶融し、その後、レーザ光照射を止めて、冷却、固化してレーザ溶着する作業状態を斜視図で示した。本実施形態においても上記実施形態1から3と同様に、レーザ光照射周囲領域の温度(Tb)は放熱により軟化温度に達しないので、レーザ光照射領域の直下の部分が溶融し、結合部分となる。
図1で示したように、本発明の実施形態1では、レーザ光照射領域の表面温度(Ta)を測定する温度センサー6として、レーザ光4aの光軸と一定の角度を有する斜め方向から非接触で測定する例を示したが、レーザ光4aの光軸と温度センサー6の光軸を同軸にしても良い。
本発明の実施形態1から4では、レーザ光照射手段4、4’を熱可塑性樹脂材2A、2B等に対して固定した位置からレーザ光4a、4’aを照射する場合を説明したが、レーザ光照射領域をスポット状の狭い範囲とするのでなく、レーザ光照射手段4、4’を溶着対象物である熱可塑性樹脂材に対して相対的に移動可能にして、レーザ光の照射領域を直線状あるいは曲線状に移動させてもよい。
上記実施形態1から6では、熱可塑性樹脂材として熱可塑性樹脂シート同士の溶着の例と、管材と継手の溶着の例を説明したが、本発明は、心臓手術に使用するバルーンカテーテルのステントをバルーンの表面に保持する際のレーザ溶着に適用することができる。

Claims (10)
- 2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材を互いに接触配置して、一方の熱可塑性樹脂材の表面にレーザ光を照射して、2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材を発熱、溶融させて溶着する熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着方法において、前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材を互いに接触配置して、一方の熱可塑性樹脂材の表面にレーザ光を照射し、前記一方の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ光照射領域の表面温度を測定し、前記測定したレーザ光照射領域の表面温度に基づきレーザ出力を制御して、前記レーザ光照射領域の表面温度が前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度の内最も高い温度と同等となるように、且つ、前記レーザ光照射領域に隣接するレーザ光照射周囲領域の温度が前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度の内最も低い温度より低くなるようにして、前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材を発熱、溶融させて溶着することを特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着方法。
- 少なくとも前記レーザ光照射周囲領域の表面に放熱材を接触配置させて、
前記一方の熱可塑性樹脂材の表面にレーザ光を照射しているときに、前記レーザ光照射周囲領域の表面の熱を放熱させるようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着方法。 - 前記放熱材を流体、固体、または流体と固体の組み合わせのいずれかを用いた放熱材として、前記レーザ光照射周囲領域の表面の熱を放熱させるようにしたことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着方法。
- 前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材のうちレーザ光照射側でない熱可塑性樹脂材の表面に断熱材を接触配置して、前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ光照射側でない熱可塑性樹脂材の表面からの熱を断熱したことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3のいずれかに記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着方法。
- 前記断熱材の内、前記レーザ光照射領域の反対側に相当する位置の前記断熱材をなくして、前記断熱材の代わりに前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度の最も低い温度より低い温度に加熱した加熱部材を配置して、前記熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ光照射側でない表面を加熱したことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着方法。
- 2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材を互いに接触配置する保持手段と、一方の熱可塑性樹脂材の表面にレーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射手段と、前記一方の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ光照射領域の表面温度を測定する表面温度測定手段と、前記測定したレーザ光照射領域の表面温度に基づきレーザ出力を制御するレーザ出力制御手段と、を有し、前記レーザ出力制御手段は、前記一方の熱可塑性樹脂材の表面にレーザ光を照射したときの前記レーザ光照射領域の表面温度が前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度の内最も高い温度と同等となるように、且つ、前記レーザ光照射領域に隣接するレーザ光照射周囲領域の温度が前記熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度の内最も低い温度より低くなるようにして、2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材を発熱、溶融させて溶着することを特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着装置。
- 少なくとも前記レーザ光照射周囲領域の表面に放熱材を接触配置したことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着装置。
- 前記放熱材として流体、固体、または流体と固体の組み合わせのいずれかを用いたことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着装置。
- 前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材のうちレーザ光照射側でない熱可塑性樹脂材の表面に断熱材を接触配置したことを特徴とする請求項6から請求項8のいずれかに記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着装置。
- 前記断熱材の内、レーザ光照射領域の反対側に相当する位置の前記断熱材をなくして、断熱材の代わりに、前記2以上の熱可塑性樹脂材の軟化温度の最も低い温度より低い温度に加熱した加熱部材を配置して、前記熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ光照射側でない表面を加熱するよう構成したことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の熱可塑性樹脂材のレーザ溶着装置。
