Description
本発明の第2の態様に係る潤滑油組成物は、無灰の油性剤系摩擦調整剤を含有する潤滑油組成物であって、境界潤滑条件下で良好な摩擦低減効果を発揮できる。
本発明の第1の態様に係る潤滑油添加剤は、下記一般式(1)で表される化合物を1種以上含んでなる。
本発明の第2の態様に係る潤滑油組成物は、(A)潤滑油基油と、(B)上記一般式(1)で表される1種以上の化合物(以下において「ビフェニル系無灰摩擦調整剤」ということがある。)とを含んでなる。
本発明の潤滑油組成物における潤滑油基油は、特に制限はなく、通常の潤滑油に使用される鉱油系基油や合成系基油が使用できる。
(B)上記一般式(1)で表される化合物の詳細については、本発明の第1の態様に係る潤滑油添加剤について既に説明した通りである。(B)成分の含有量は特に制限されるものではなく、組成物の全量に対して例えば0.05〜10重量%であり得る。ただし好ましくは5重量%以下である。好ましい含有量の範囲は潤滑油組成物の用途によって異なり得る。例えば自動変速機や無段変速機用等の変速機用の潤滑油組成物である場合には、好ましくは0.1重量%以上であり、他方好ましくは5重量%以下である。また例えば内燃機関用の潤滑油組成物である場合には、好ましくは0.1重量%以上であり、他方好ましくは5重量%以下である。
本発明の第2の態様に係る潤滑油組成物は、上記(A)潤滑油基油および(B)ビフェニル系無灰摩擦調整剤のほかに、(C)無灰分散剤、(D)酸化防止剤、(E)上記一般式(1)で表される化合物以外の摩擦調整剤、(F)摩耗防止剤または極圧剤、(G)金属系清浄剤、(H)粘度指数向上剤または流動点降下剤、(I)腐食防止剤、(J)防錆剤、(K)金属不活性化剤、(L)抗乳化剤、(M)消泡剤、及び(N)着色剤から選ばれる1種以上の添加剤をさらに含み得る。なお、本発明の第1の態様に係る潤滑油添加剤にこれら(C)〜(N)から選ばれる1種以上の添加剤を含有させて添加剤パッケージとしてもよい。
本発明の第1の態様に係るビフェニル系摩擦調整剤L5及びL6、並びに本発明の範囲外である摩擦調整剤C2を製造した。
以下の手順により、上記一般式(1)においてR=デシル基、X1=−O−基、X2=単結合、Z=−CO2CH3基、a=0、b=1、c=0、d=0である態様のビフェニル系摩擦調整剤L5を製造した。
以下の手順により、上記一般式(1)においてR=ヘプタデシル基、X1=−COO−基、X2=単結合、Z=−OH基、a=0、b=1、c=0、d=0である態様のビフェニル系摩擦調整剤L6、及び、上記一般式(1)においてR=ヘプタデシル基、X1=−COO−基、X2=単結合、a=0、b=1、c=0、d=0であるもののX2−Z=−OCOC17H33であるために本発明の範囲外である摩擦調整剤C2を製造した。
表1に示されるように、本発明の潤滑油組成物(参考例1〜5、実施例6)、比較用の潤滑油組成物(比較例1〜5)をそれぞれ調製した。表1中、単位「wt.%」は重量%を意味する。参考例1〜5及び実施例6で用いた摩擦調整剤L1〜L6、及び比較例1〜4で用いた摩擦調整剤C1〜C4の構造式を下記に示す。
上記調製した潤滑油組成物のそれぞれについて、摩擦特性を評価した。摩擦特性は、シリンダオンディスク式往復動摩擦試験機(Optimol社製SRV)を用いて、荷重700N、面圧(最大ヘルツ圧)0.4GPa、振動数10Hz、振幅1mm、温度100℃、試験時間60分の条件下で摩擦係数を測定し、試験時間の30〜60分の摩擦係数を平均化した平均摩擦係数を算出することにより評価した。なおこの測定条件は、境界潤滑条件に相当する。各潤滑油組成物について、測定された摩擦係数をプロットしたグラフを図1に示す。
図1に示されるように、参考例1〜5及び実施例6の潤滑油組成物は良好な摩擦低減効果を示した。中でも、一般式(1)においてRの炭素数が6以上であるL3〜L6を含有する参考例3〜5及び実施例6の潤滑油組成物は、より優れた摩擦低減効果を示した。とりわけL6を含有する実施例6の潤滑油組成物は、特に優れた摩擦低減効果を示した。
一般式(1)におけるZを有しないC1〜C2を含有する比較例1〜2の潤滑油組成物、及び、ビフェニル骨格を有しないC3〜C4を含有する比較例3〜4の潤滑油組成物は、参考例1〜5及び実施例6の潤滑油組成物よりも摩擦低減効果に劣っていた。
Claims (3)
- 一般式(1)で表される摩擦調整剤を含有することを特徴とする、潤滑油添加剤。
X1は、単結合、−CONH−基、−NHCO−基、−NH−基、又は、1以上のヘテロ原子を有し且つ該ヘテロ原子に水素原子が結合していない炭素数0〜1の結合基であり、該ヘテロ原子は酸素、窒素、及び硫黄からなる群から選ばれ;
X2は、単結合、又は、1以上のヘテロ原子を有し且つ該ヘテロ原子に水素原子が結合していない炭素数0〜1の結合基であり、該ヘテロ原子は酸素、窒素、及び硫黄からなる群から選ばれ;
Zは、1以上のヘテロ原子を有し且つ該ヘテロ原子に水素原子が結合している炭素数0〜6の基であり、該ヘテロ原子は酸素、窒素、及び硫黄からなる群から選ばれ;
aは0又は1であり;bは1又は2であり;cは0又は1であり;dは0〜2の整数であり;
dが1以上のとき、Yは−CH2−基又は−OCH2CH2−基である。) - (A)潤滑油基油と、
(B)一般式(1)で表される摩擦調整剤と
を含有することを特徴とする、潤滑油組成物。

Zは、1以上のヘテロ原子を有し且つ該ヘテロ原子に水素原子が結合している炭素数0〜6の基であり、該ヘテロ原子は酸素、窒素、及び硫黄からなる群から選ばれ;
aは0又は1であり;bは1又は2であり;cは0又は1であり;dは0〜2の整数であり;
dが1以上のとき、Yは−CH2−基又は−OCH2CH2−基である。) - 無灰分散剤、酸化防止剤、前記一般式(1)で表される化合物以外の摩擦調整剤、摩耗防止剤、極圧剤、金属系清浄剤、粘度指数向上剤、流動点降下剤、腐食防止剤、防錆剤、金属不活性化剤、抗乳化剤、消泡剤及び着色剤から選ばれる1種以上の添加剤をさらに含む、
請求項2に記載の潤滑油組成物。
