Description
本発明は、「耐水性ウェアラブル医療装置(WATER RESISTANT WEARABLE MEDICAL DEVICE)」と題され、2010年12月16日に出願された米国仮出願第61/423,874号の優先権の利益を米国特許法第119条(e)の下に主張し、その全体の内容は、参照により本明細書に援用される。
1.発明の分野
本発明は、除細動器のような、耐水性および/または防水性ウェアラブル医療装置に向けられる。
心停止および他の心疾患は、世界的に死亡の主な原因である。心停止の間に被害者の生命を救う試みにおいて、様々な蘇生の努力が身体の循環系および呼吸器系の維持を目指す。蘇生の努力を開始するのが早いほど、被害者の生存率が向上する。これらの努力は、高額であるとともに、限られた成功率を有し、他の条件の中でも心停止は、被害者の生命を奪い続けている。
本発明は、その用途が以下の説明で述べられる、または図面で説明される要素の構造および配置の詳細へ限定されない。本発明は、他の実施の形態が可能であり、かつ、様々な方法で実践または実行可能である。また、本明細書で用いられる表現および専門用語は、説明のためのものであって、限定的であると考えられるべきではない。「含む(including)」、「備える(comprising)」、「有する(having)」、「含む(containing)」、「含む(involving)」およびそれらのバリエーションの本明細書における使用は、その後リスト化される事項、および追加的な事項とともにそれらに相当するものを包含することが意図される。
Claims (26)
- ウェアラブル医療装置とともに使用するためのアクセサリキットであって、
前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、制御ユニットと、前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合される第1の複数の電極とを含み、
前記第1の複数の電極は、第1の複数のECG検出電極と、患者の身体へ除細動ショックを与えるように構成される第1の複数の治療電極とを含み、
前記アクセサリキットは、
第2の複数のECG検出電極と、前記患者の身体へ除細動ショックを与えるように構成される第2の複数の治療電極とを含む第2の複数の電極を備え、
前記第2の複数の電極は、前記ウェアラブル医療装置の制御ユニットへ取り外し可能に、かつ、電気的に結合するように構成されるコネクタへ電気的に結合され、
前記アクセサリキットは、
前記制御ユニットを受容するとともにウェット環境における動作中に前記制御ユニットを保護するように構成される防水筺体をさらに備え、
前記第2の複数の電極は、前記患者が前記ウェット環境にいる期間中に前記患者に取り付けられるように構成される、アクセサリキット。 - 前記コネクタは、第1のコネクタであり、
前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、前記制御ユニットへ電気的に接続される接続ポッドをさらに含み、
前記接続ポッドは、前記第1のコネクタへ取り外し可能に、かつ、電気的に接続するように構成される第2のコネクタへ電気的に接続される、請求項1に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記防水筺体は、前記接続ポッドを受容するとともに前記ウェット環境における動作中に前記接続ポッドおよび前記制御ユニットを保護するようにさらに構成される、請求項2に記載のアクセサリキット。
- 前記接続ポッドは、ケーブルによって前記第2のコネクタへ電気的に接続され、
前記防水筺体は、前記ケーブルの周囲に防水シールを形成するように構成される開口部を含む、請求項3に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記第2の複数の電極は、一対の複合ECG/治療電極を含み、
前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各複合ECG/治療電極は、
少なくとも1つのECG検出電極と、
共通の基材へ取り付けられる治療電極とを有する、請求項2に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各複合ECG/治療電極は、
2つのECG検出電極と、
前記共通の基材へ取り付けられる前記治療電極とを有する、請求項5に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合されるユーザインターフェースポッドを含み、
前記アクセサリキットは、前記ユーザインターフェースポッドを受容するとともに前記ウェット環境における動作中に前記ユーザインターフェースポッドを保護するように構成される第2の防水筺体をさらに備える、請求項6に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記第2の複数の電極は、防水接続ポッドを介して前記コネクタへ電気的に結合される、請求項1に記載のアクセサリキット。
- 前記防水接続ポッドは、防水埋め込み用化合物で埋め込まれる電子回路を含み、
前記防水接続ポッドにおける任意の穴は、弾性シーリング材料でシールされる、請求項8に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記防水接続ポッドは、ケーブルによって前記コネクタへ電気的に接続され、
前記防水筺体は、前記ケーブルの周囲に防水シールを形成するように構成される開口部を含む、請求項8に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記第2の複数の電極は、一対の複合ECG/治療電極を含み、
前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各複合ECG/治療電極は、
少なくとも1つのECG検出電極と、
共通の基材へ取り付けられる治療電極とを有する、請求項8に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各複合ECG/治療電極は、
2つのECG検出電極と、
前記共通の基材へ取り付けられる前記治療電極とを有する、請求項11に記載のアクセサリキット。 - ウェアラブル医療装置とともに使用するためのアクセサリキットであって、
前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、制御ユニットと、前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合される第1の複数の電極とを含み、
前記第1の複数の電極は、第1の複数のECG検出電極と、患者の身体へ除細動ショックを与えるように構成される第1の複数の治療電極とを含み、
前記アクセサリキットは、
第2の複数のECG検出電極と、前記患者の身体へ除細動ショックを与えるように構成される第2の複数の治療電極とを含む第2の複数の電極を備え、
前記第2の複数の電極は、前記ウェアラブル医療装置の制御ユニットへ取り外し可能に、かつ、電気的に結合するように構成されるコネクタへ電気的に結合され、
前記アクセサリキットは、
前記制御ユニットを受容するとともにウェット環境における動作中に前記制御ユニットを保護するように構成される防水筺体をさらに備え、
前記第1の複数の電極は、第1の接続ポッドを介して前記制御ユニットの第1の接続ポートへ電気的に結合され、
前記第2の複数の電極は、防水接続ポッドを介して前記コネクタへ電気的に結合され、
前記コネクタは、前記第1の接続ポートとは異なる、前記制御ユニットの第2の接続ポートへ取り外し可能に、かつ、電気的に結合するように構成される、アクセサリキット。 - 前記防水接続ポッドは、防水埋め込み用化合物で埋め込まれる電子回路を含み、
前記防水接続ポッドにおける任意の穴は、弾性シーリング材料でシールされる、請求項13に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記第2の複数の電極は、一対の複合ECG/治療電極を含み、
前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各複合ECG/治療電極は、

患者が意識があることを前記制御ユニットへ示し得る患者応答ボタンをさらに有する、請求項15に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合されるユーザインターフェースポッドを含み、
前記アクセサリキットは、前記ユーザインターフェースポッドを受容するとともにウェット環境における動作中に前記ユーザインターフェースポッドを保護するように構成される第2の防水筺体をさらに備える、請求項16に記載のアクセサリキット。 - ウェアラブル医療装置とともに使用するためのアクセサリキットであって、
前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、制御ユニットと、前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合される第1の複数の電極とを含み、
前記第1の複数の電極は、第1の複数のECG検出電極と、患者の身体へ除細動ショックを与えるように構成される第1の複数の治療電極とを含み、
前記アクセサリキットは、
第2の複数のECG検出電極と、前記患者の身体へ除細動ショックを与えるように構成される第2の複数の治療電極とを含む第2の複数の電極と、
前記第2の複数の電極の各々へ電気的に接続される防水接続ポッドとを備え、
前記防水接続ポッドは、前記防水接続ポッドおよび前記第2の複数の電極を前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合するための細長いケーブルを含み、
前記細長いケーブルは、前記患者の身体へ取り付けられる前記第2の複数の電極を用いて隣接ウェット環境における前記患者の移動の自由も可能としながら、前記制御ユニットがドライな場所のままとなることを可能とする十分な長さを有し、
前記第2の複数の電極は、前記患者が前記ウェット環境にいる期間中に前記患者に取り付けられるように構成される、アクセサリキット。 - 前記細長いケーブルの長さは、少なくとも3メートルであり、
前記細長いケーブルは、取り外し可能なコネクタによって前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合される、請求項18に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記第2の複数の電極は、一対の複合ECG/治療電極を含み、
前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各複合ECG/治療電極は、
少なくとも1つのECG検出電極と、
共通の基材へ取り付けられる治療電極とを有する、請求項18に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各ECG/治療電極は、
2つのECG検出電極と、
前記共通の基材へ取り付けられる前記治療電極とを含む、請求項20に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、前記制御ユニットへ電気的に結合されるユーザインターフェースポッドをさらに含み、
前記アクセサリキットは、前記ユーザインターフェースポッドを受容するとともにウェット環境における動作中に前記ユーザインターフェースポッドを保護するように構成される防水筺体をさらに備える、請求項21に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記ウェアラブル医療装置は、前記制御ユニットとワイヤレスで通信するように構成されるユーザインターフェースポッドをさらに含み、

少なくとも1つのECG検出電極と、
共通の基材へ取り付けられる治療電極とを有する、請求項24に記載のアクセサリキット。 - 前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の各複合ECG/治療電極は、
2つのECG検出電極と、
前記共通の基材へ取り付けられる前記治療電極とを有し、
前記一対の複合ECG/治療電極の少なくとも1つは、
患者が意識があることを前記制御ユニットへ示し得る患者応答ボタンをさらに有する、請求項25に記載のアクセサリキット。
