Description
好ましくは、内燃機関の排気系に設けられた触媒を暖機する上記の蓄熱装置において、反応器は、排気系における触媒の上流側に配置されており、複数枚のプレートは、内燃機関からの排ガスを通過させる排ガス流通部を形成するように積層されている。このような構成では、排ガスの温度が低いときは、タンク内のアンモニアが反応器に送られ、アンモニアが化学蓄熱材と化学反応することで、化学蓄熱材から熱が発生し、その熱により排ガスが加熱され、加熱された排ガスにより触媒が昇温されるようになる。一方、内燃機関の暖機終了後、排ガスの温度がより高くなると、排ガスの熱によって化学蓄熱材からアンモニアが分離し、そのアンモニアがタンクに蓄えられる。ここで、排ガスの温度が高くなり過ぎたときには、冷却手段により反応器を冷却することにより、反応器の温度をアンモニアの分解温度よりも低くすることができる。

Claims (5)
- アンモニアと化学反応して熱を発生させる化学蓄熱材を有する反応器と、
前記反応器と接続され、前記アンモニアを貯留するタンクと、
前記反応器を空気により冷却する冷却手段とを備え、
前記反応器は、積層された複数枚のプレートを更に有し、
前記化学蓄熱材は、前記プレート上に配置されており、
前記冷却手段は、前記プレート上に設けられ、前記空気を流すための空気流路を有し、
前記反応器には、前記アンモニアを前記化学蓄熱材に接するように流すためのアンモニア流路が形成されていることを特徴とする蓄熱装置。 - 内燃機関の排気系に設けられた触媒を暖機する請求項1記載の蓄熱装置において、
前記反応器は、前記排気系における前記触媒の上流側に配置されており、
前記複数枚のプレートは、前記内燃機関からの排ガスを通過させる排ガス流通部を形成するように積層されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の蓄熱装置。 - 前記化学蓄熱材は、前記プレート上に前記空気流路を挟むように配置されており、
前記アンモニア流路は、前記アンモニアを前記化学蓄熱材の表面に沿って前記空気流路を横切って流すように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の蓄熱装置。 - 前記冷却手段は、前記空気を前記空気流路に流入させる冷却ファンと、前記反応器の温度が前記アンモニアの分解温度よりも低くなるように前記冷却ファンの作動を制御する手段とを更に有することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項記載の蓄熱装置。
- 前記反応器を冷却する空気は圧縮空気であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項記載の蓄熱装置。
