Description
本発明は廃棄物の処理に関し、また有機物質のガス化に関する。さらに詳しくは、小規模施設における有機廃棄物のガス化の改良方法およびその装置に関する。
地方自治体の廃棄物は、最も一般的に、埋め立て地または焼却処理に送られる。多くの地方自治体にとっては、基礎となる施設のコストが低いこと、および焼却処理から生じる直接的大気汚染の懸念が減少することなどの理由で、焼却処理よりも埋め立処理がよいとされている。焼却処理から生じる熱は、発電に使用することができる。
粗合成ガスの産生が、当該粗合成ガスの燃焼産物を含む排煙ガスの効率的な浄化を可能とするように制御し得ることが見出された。これによって、二次ガス化システムを回避することができる。一部実施態様において、粗合成ガスは、常套の加熱源を装備する適当な高温度燃焼ゾーン(典型的には炭化水素燃料バーナー)に供給し、そこで合成ガスを燃焼させ、高温の燃焼産物を用いてガス化室を加熱する。排煙ガスの浄化には既定のガス流速を処理し得る装置を使用する。ガス化装置の加熱を制御すること、並びにガス化装置に供給するプロセス空気量を制御することにより、産生される粗合成ガスの量が確実に浄化装置の許容能力範囲にあるようにする。
本発明は以下の本発明の実施態様についての詳細な説明により、また添付の図面を参照することでより良く理解されよう。
本工程は、廃棄物、例えば、標準的ゴミ袋の廃棄物を、詰め込みハッチ(14)からガス化室(12)に詰め込むことにより開始する(図1参照)。真空ポンプ(13)のスイッチを入れ、ディーゼルバーナー(18)に点火する。本実施態様においては、ディーゼル燃料を選択するが、必要な熱エネルギーと温度を提供し得るなら、いずれの熱源も利用可能であることは正しく理解されよう。最終の排気流の酸素含量はO2センサー(48)により測定する。O2センサー(48)は燃焼ゾーン(21)の酸素を規制限界(通常排煙ガス中6%〜12%)内に制御するプロセスを可能とする。ガス化室(12)の圧力は、大気圧よりやや低い固定セットポイントに維持する。プロセス空気(26)は負の内部相対圧によりガス化室(12)に引き込む。プロセス空気(26)は燃焼ゾーン(21)内の小型熱交換器を経由して引き込むことにより予め加熱する。その流速は比例バルブ(空気源(22)の一部)により制御し、フロートランスミッター(24)によりモニターする。流速はフロートランスミッター(24)により測定し、バルブを調整してそれにより流速を加減する。操作に際して、プロセス空気供給速度は0および20scfmの間で制御し、それによりガス化プロセスを加速または減速し、結果として、産生される合成ガス量を制御する。合成ガス産生の減少は、合成ガスの燃焼が排煙ガスにおいて高すぎる温度を発生する場合に必要とされ得る。
Claims (19)
- ガス化廃棄物処理装置であって、
制御されたプロセス空気入口及び粗合成ガス出口を有するガス化室と、
前記ガス化室にプロセス加熱を施す燃焼室であって、一次バーナー、粗合成ガス供給口及び前記粗合成ガスを燃焼させるための制御された燃焼空気入口を有する燃焼室と、
前記燃焼室から急冷排煙ガスの汚染を除去するスクラバーと、
急冷前に前記排煙ガスの温度を測定する温度センサーと、
前記粗合成ガスの産生量を浄化能力範囲内に制御しながらダイオキシンを形成する危険のある温度より高く前記排煙ガスの温度を維持する制御ループ機能を実施するよう構成されており、且つ前記一次バーナーを稼動させるための制御装置と、
を有する処理装置。 - 前記燃焼室において粗合成ガスの燃焼により熱が提供される場合に、前記一次バーナーによる熱の寄与を低下させるために、前記制御装置は前記一次バーナーの操作を制御する請求項1に記載の処理装置。
- 前記排煙ガス中の酸素レベルを感知する酸素センサーをさらに有し、前記制御装置が、前記排煙ガス中に感知される酸素レベルの関数として前記燃焼空気入口を制御する請求項1又は2に記載の処理装置。
- 前記燃焼室の温度を冷却するための水噴霧システムをさらに有する請求項1、2又は3記載の処理装置。
- 前記燃焼室の温度を感知する少なくとも1個の温度センサーをさらに有し、前記制御装置は、粗合成ガスの燃焼が前記燃焼室の温度を高温に導く場合に前記水噴霧システムを起動させる請求項4に記載の処理装置。
- 前記排煙ガス温度が650℃の温度を示した場合に、前記制御装置が合成ガスの産生を増大させる請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の処理装置。
- 前記ガス化室内のプロセス空気流の増加によって合成ガス産生が増大する請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の処理装置。
- 前記廃棄物を混合するために前記ガス化室内で稼働可能なミキサーをさらに有し、合成ガス産生が前記ミキサーの操作により増大される請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の処理装置。
- 前記ガス化室が、ガス化に先立って前記ガス化室に前記廃棄物を投入し得るように構成された掛け金付きハッチを有する請求項1から8のいずれか1項に記載の処理装置。
- 前記ガス化室が、ガス化に先立って前記ガス化室に前記廃棄物を投入し得るように構成された掛け金付きハッチを有し、前記制御装置は、単一バッチに相当するプロセスサイクルにおいて前記廃棄物を処理するために少なくとも前記一次バーナーの操作を制御するように構成された請求項1から8のいずれか1項に記載の処理装置。
- 前記スクラバーが熱回収システムを有する請求項1から10のいずれか1項に記載の処理装置。
- 前記スクラバーが湿式スクラバーであり、前記熱回収システムが前記スクラバーで循環する水から熱を除去する熱交換器である請求項11に記載の処理装置。
- ガス化プロセスであって、
粗合成ガスを産生させるために充分な温度に物質を加熱する段階と、
粗合成ガスを燃焼させて熱燃焼ガスを生成させる段階と、
前記燃焼ガスと熱吸収体との間の熱を交換してより冷却された排煙ガスを生じさせる段階と、
前記排煙ガスを急冷し、浄化する段階と、
前記粗合成ガスの産生量を浄化能力範囲内に制御しながら、前記交換後であって前記急冷し浄化する段階の前において排煙ガス温度をモニターし、プロセスパラメーターを制御して前記排煙ガス温度をダイオキシンが形成され得るレベルよりも高い温度に維持する段階と、
を有するプロセス。 - 前記熱吸収体がガス化室である請求項13に記載のプロセス。
- 外部燃焼燃料が共通の燃焼領域で粗合成ガスと燃焼させられる請求項14に記載のプロセス。
- 前記外部燃料の燃焼が、利用可能な粗合成ガスの関数として制御される請求項15に記載のプロセス。
- 熱が前記急冷し浄化する段階から回収される請求項13から16のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記プロセスは前記物質の量に基づいてバッチ方式で実施される請求項13から17のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記急冷し浄化する段階で使用される水との低温度熱交換により、前記排煙ガスから熱を除去する段階をさらに有する請求項13から18のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
