Description
第1貴金属元素は、例えば、白金及びパラジウムなどの白金族元素である。触媒層222は、第1貴金属元素として、単一の貴金属元素を含んでいてもよく、複数の貴金属元素を含んでいてもよい。

この活性成分としては、選択接触還元において一般に使用されている活性成分を使用することができる。例えば、この活性成分として、金属元素のイオン、特にはナトリウム及びカリウムなどのアルカリ金属元素のイオンが鉄及び銅などの遷移金属元素のイオンで部分的に交換されたゼオライトを使用することができる。或いは、この活性成分として、チタン、タングステン、バナジウム、ジルコニウム又はセリウムを使用することもできる。なお、ゼオライト系の活性成分は、アンモニアを吸着する能力が高い。そのため、ゼオライト系の活性成分を使用した場合、例えば、吸着量及び温度などを監視してアンモニアの脱離を適切に制御することにより、アンモニアスリップを効果的に抑制することができる。
第2貴金属元素は、例えば、白金及びパラジウムなどの白金族元素であり、典型的には白金を含んでいる。第2貴金属元素は、アンモニアの酸化を促進する。触媒層422は、第2貴金属元素として、単一の貴金属元素を含んでいてもよく、複数の貴金属元素を含んでいてもよい。例えば、触媒層422は、第2貴金属元素として、白金のみを含んでいてもよく、白金とパラジウムとを含んでいてもよい。但し、パラジウムを使用すると、アンモニアスリップ触媒42がアンモニアを酸化させる能力が低下する傾向にある。従って、第2貴金属元素に占めるパラジウムの割合は、例えば30質量%以下又は20質量%以下とし、典型的には10質量%以下とする。
例えば、図1には、3つの触媒コンバータ20、30及び40を描いているが、触媒コンバータ30及び40を単一の触媒コンバータとしてもよい。即ち、単一のコンバータボディ内に、ディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタ32とアンモニアスリップ触媒42とを配置してもよい。この場合、ディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタ32とアンモニアスリップ触媒42とは、互いから離間していてもよく、一体化されていてもよい。
<ディーゼル酸化触媒DOCの製造>
図1乃至図3を参照しながら説明したディーゼル酸化触媒22を、以下の方法により製造した。
更に、この構造体を、250℃で1時間に亘って熱処理した。
図1及び図4を参照しながら説明したディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタ32を、以下の方法により製造した。
ジルコニウムを含んだ酸化物粉末の代わりにFeZSM5粉末を使用したこと以外は、フィルタDPF1について説明したのと同様の方法により、図1及び図4を参照しながら説明したディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタ32を製造した。以下、このようにして得られたディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタを、「フィルタDPF2」と呼ぶ。
ジルコニウムを含んだ酸化物粉末の代わりにCuCHA粉末を使用したこと以外は、フィルタDPF1について説明したのと同様の方法により、図1及び図4を参照しながら説明したディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタ32を製造した。以下、このようにして得られたディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタを、「フィルタDPF3」と呼ぶ。
図1及び図4を参照しながら説明したディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタ32を、以下の方法により製造した。
選択接触還元触媒を、以下の方法により製造した。
図1、図5及び図6を参照しながら説明したアンモニアスリップ触媒42を、以下の方法により製造した。
更に、この構造体を、250℃で1時間に亘って熱処理した。
180gのアルミナ粉末と、10質量%の濃度でアルミナを含んだ200gのアルミナゾルと、250gの脱イオン水とを混合して、スラリーを調製した。このスラリーを用いてコート層を形成したこと以外は、触媒ASC1について説明したのと同様の方法により、アンモニアスリップ触媒を製造した。以下、このようにして得られたアンモニアスリップ触媒を、「触媒ASC2」と呼ぶ。
図1、図5及び図6を参照しながら説明したアンモニアスリップ触媒42を、以下の方法により製造した。
更に、この構造体を、250℃で1時間に亘って熱処理した。
図1に示す排ガス浄化システム1を組み立てた。具体的には、ディーゼル酸化触媒21として、触媒DOCを使用した。ディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタ32としては、フィルタDPF1を使用した。アンモニアスリップ触媒42としては、触媒ASC1を使用した。
以下、このようにして得られた排ガス浄化システムを、「浄化システムPS1」と呼ぶ。
触媒ASC1の代わりに触媒ASC2を使用したこと以外は、浄化システムPS1と同様の排ガス浄化システムを組み立てた。以下、この排ガス浄化システムを、「浄化システムPS2」と呼ぶ。
フィルタDPF1の代わりにフィルタDPF2を使用したこと以外は、浄化システムPS1と同様の排ガス浄化システムを組み立てた。以下、この排ガス浄化システムを、「浄化システムPS3」と呼ぶ。
触媒ASC1の代わりに触媒ASC2を使用し、フィルタDPF1の代わりにフィルタDPF2を使用したこと以外は、浄化システムPS1と同様の排ガス浄化システムを組み立てた。以下、この排ガス浄化システムを、「浄化システムPS4」と呼ぶ。
フィルタDPF1の代わりにフィルタDPF3を使用したこと以外は、浄化システムPS1と同様の排ガス浄化システムを組み立てた。以下、この排ガス浄化システムを、「浄化システムPS5」と呼ぶ。
図9は、比較例に係る排ガス浄化システムを概略的に示す図である。
以下、このようにして得られた排ガス浄化システムを、「浄化システムPS6」と呼ぶ。
触媒ASC1の代わりに触媒ASC3を使用したこと以外は、浄化システムPS1と同様の排ガス浄化システムを組み立てた。以下、この排ガス浄化システムを、「浄化システムPS7」と呼ぶ。
浄化システムPS1乃至PS7の各々について、初期性能と耐久後の性能とを調べた。具体的には、浄化システムPS1乃至PS7の各々を、排気量が2.2Lのエンジンの排気系に設置し、エンジンの定常運転を行った。この定常運転においては、エンジンの回転数を2000rpm、トルクを170Nmとして、浄化システムへ供給する排ガスにおけるNOxの濃度を250ppmに維持した。また、インジェクタ50による尿素水溶液の注入は、尿素の注入量が、浄化システムへ供給する排ガスが含んでいるNOxの0.75倍(尿素換算)となるように行った。そして、各浄化システムの上流及び下流にガス分析計を設置し、排ガス中のNOx濃度を測定した。

Claims (2)
- ディーゼルエンジンが排出した排ガスを浄化する排ガス浄化システムであって、
前記排ガスが通過するディーゼル酸化触媒と、
フィルタ基材と、前記フィルタ基材に支持され、選択接触還元に対して触媒活性を示す活性成分とを含み、前記ディーゼル酸化触媒を通過した前記排ガスが透過するディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタと、
アルカリ金属イオンが遷移金属イオンで部分的に交換されたゼオライトを含み、前記ディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタを透過した前記排ガスが通過するアンモニアスリップ触媒と
前記ディーゼル酸化触媒と前記ディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタとの間で前記排ガスにアンモニア又はその前駆体を注入するインジェクタと
を具備し、
前記アンモニアスリップ触媒は、前記ディーゼルパーティキュレートフィルタのすぐ下流に位置し、
前記活性成分はジルコニウムとセリウムとチタンと珪素とタングステンとを含んだ複合酸化物であり且つ前記アンモニアスリップ触媒が含むゼオライトはFeZSM5であるか、又は、
前記活性成分はジルコニウムとセリウムとチタンと珪素とタングステンとを含んだ複合酸化物であり且つ前記アンモニアスリップ触媒が含むゼオライトはCuCHAとFeBEAとFeZSM5との混合物である排ガス浄化システム。 - 前記アンモニアスリップ触媒は、白金族元素を更に含んだ請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化システム。
