本発明は、pH調整をすることなく、システム中の堆積を防止するための、改善された抗スケールも可能とする。更に、本発明は、システム内に膜が使用されている場合には、その品位を損ねることは全くない。
本発明は、スケールの堆積を除去するため、又は既存のスケールの堆積を削減するために有効な量の、トリメチルグリシン溶液をシステムに添加することから成る。この溶液は、トリメチルグリシン塩酸塩、カルボキシメチル、トリメチルアンモニウムクロリド、及びトリメチルグリシン塩酸塩などの、C5H11NO2・HClの化学式を有する組成物を含む。
1.システム中のスケール堆積を除去することは、本発明の利点である。
2.システムの脱スケールを支援することは、本発明の利点である。
3.膜、又はろ過システムの性能を妨害することなく、改善された抗スケール能力を提供することは、本発明の利点である。
4.リン酸カルシウムを含む広範囲のスケール形態に効果的に作用することは、本発明の利点である。
5.pHの調整を必要とすることなく、システム中のスケール堆積を除去することは、本発明の利点である。
本発明は、さまざまなシステムとともに用いることができ、一実施形態では、水精製システムにおいて用いることができる。このシステムは、プロセス内での膜の安全な使用を可能とする。本発明は、膜がその品位を保ちながら、膜に影響する可能性のある、いかなるスケールをも低下させることにより、膜の有効性を増大させることができる。
10ppmのTMG HClの存在下での、スケール発現におけるリン酸塩の種類を決定するための試験が行われた。この実験では、53.3ppmのリン酸塩を添加して、その結果pHは6.96、及び濁度は0.74となった。リン酸カルシウム・スケールの阻害剤としてのTMGの有効性は、測定された合計のリン酸塩の95%がオルトリン酸塩であることを示すデータにより裏付けられた。このデータは、スケールは生じているが、その成長がトリメチルグリシンにより阻害されていることを示している。
トリメチルグリシンを評価するために、Hydronautics社製ESPA1膜、及びOsmonics社製フラット・プレート膜システムを用いた膜適合性試験が行われた。今までに、10、20、及び40ppmの用量のトリメチルグリシン塩酸塩に対して、全てのパラメータが参照水準に復するまで実験が行われた。トリメチルグリシンへの曝露の間、浸透導電率(permeate conductivity)の減少(20ppmに対して27%、及び40ppmに対して40%)、並びに20ppmトリメチルグリシンではフラックスのわずかな増加(0.7%)、及び40ppmトリメチルグリシンではフラックスの減少(1.8%)を伴った。全ての塩化ナトリウムの参照では、全てのパラメータが最初の状態に復した。これらの実験は、活性濃度を評価するために行われたことに注意することには価値がある。これは、ほとんどのシステムの排除水(reject water)及び水の化学的性質から予期されるものよりもはるかに高い。
Claims (3)
- トリメチルグリシン組成物をシステム中に加えることによりスケール及び堆積を低減する、システム中のリン酸カルシウムスケールの低減またはその制御の少なくとも1つのための方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、
トリメチルグリシン組成物は、0.2ppm以上25ppm以下の濃度で添加されることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、
トリメチルグリシン組成物は、C 5 H 11 NO 2 ・HClの化学式を有する組成物であることを特徴とする方法
