また実施例では、触媒過熱防止制御としてOT増量制御を行ったが、発明の適用例はこれに限定されない。例えば触媒過熱防止制御は排気空燃比をリッチ化する制御であれば、点火時期や、吸排気弁の開弁時期や、吸入空気量等を変更する制御であってもよい。排気空燃比をリッチ化することで、触媒内の酸素を減少させることができる。そしてこれにより、酸化反応を減少させることで、発熱量を減少させ、結果、触媒の過熱を防止することができる。

Claims (1)
- 内燃機関の吸入空気量および前記内燃機関の回転数に基づいて、前記内燃機関の排気系に設けられた触媒の温度が収束する温度である収束温度を推定する収束温度推定手段と、
前記収束温度推定手段によって推定された前記収束温度に基づき、なまし処理により前記触媒の温度を推定する触媒温度推定手段と、
前記収束温度推定手段によって推定された前記収束温度である推定収束温度と、前記触媒温度推定手段によって推定された前記触媒の温度である推定触媒温度とが判定値以上である場合に、前記触媒の過熱を防止するための制御を行う触媒過熱防止手段と、
前記推定触媒温度が前記判定値以上で、且つ前記推定収束温度が前記判定値である場合に、前記推定触媒温度を前記判定値に補正する推定触媒温度補正手段と、を備えた触媒の過熱防止装置。
