Description
本発明は、攻撃性媒体中での攻撃に対する、カーボン/カーボン(C/C)熱構造複合材の保護に関する。
本発明の目的は、超耐火性カーバイド層を、一回の処理操作でC/C複合材の接触可能なカーボン上に形成することを可能にし、かつ、C/C複合材のカーボンと形成されたカーバイドとの間に脱結合を生じない方法を提供することである。
本発明の方法は、カーボン/カーボン(C/C)複合材製のパーツの「接触可能表面」上に、高耐火性カーバイドからなる少なくとも1つの層を形成するための一つの解決策を提案する。「接触可能表面」という用語は、パーツの外側表面だけでなく、材料の内側にもあり、かつ外側に開口する孔の表面、すなわち、外側から接触可能な孔の表面のことも指すように使用される。以下に詳細に記載するように、何れもC/C剤の外側と内側とにある、組成物中に存在する金属と接触可能カーボンとの間の反応を得るべく、本発明に特有な溶融反応性組成物と接触させるのは、この接触可能表面である。
Claims (6)
- C/C複合材の接触可能表面上に、耐火性カーバイドからなる少なくとも1つの層を作る方法であって、前記方法は、
前記複合材を、2000℃より高い融点を有する所定のカーバイドの前駆体である33原子%以上95原子%以下の金属と、5原子%以上66原子%以下のシリコンとを含有する固体状の反応性組成物に接触させて配置することにある工程と、
前記C/C複合材の接触可能表面に、所定のカーバイドの前駆体である前記金属の融点以上の温度で熱処理を適用することにより溶融された前記反応性組成物を含浸させて、前記C/C複合材と接触したシリコンカーバイドからなる第1の相と、前記所定のカーバイドからなる第2の相とを形成することにある工程とを含み、
前記カーバイドの相が、専ら、前記材料のカーボンとの反応によって形成されることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記反応性組成物が、少なくとも、チタン、ジルコニウム、ニオブ、ハフニウム、タンタル、およびタングステンより選択される金属を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応性組成物が、少なくとも、TiSi2、Zr Si2、NbSi2、HfSi2、TaSi2、およびWSi2より選択される金属二珪化物を含むことを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記反応性組成物がジルコニウムを含有し、かつ、前記反応性組成物が少なくともアルミニウム、カルシウム、およびイットリウムより選択される第3の元素をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複合材を反応性組成物と接触させて配置する前に、前記材料の1以上の外側部分が少なくとも窒化ホウ素を含む防湿潤剤で被覆されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記反応性組成物が、カーボンと反応せずかつ前記カーバイド前駆体金属よりも低い融点を有し、少なくともスズおよび銅より選択される溶融添加剤をさらに含有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
